We, a family group of 5 adults and 5 teens  , are making our first :woohoo: WDW trip May7-12. We were wondering :) what the weather is like in May and what kind of lines we may have. We have our dinner reservations made and our cs pretty well figured out. My DD1 princess: is our travel planner :) We are staying at the Port Orleands Riverside.

Also going that same week (May 4-12) I've researched the weather for that week and it typically ranges from low 70's to upper 80's Not too much rain though. :sunny: I will be planning for mostly warm days. I will pack a sweatshirt or each kid. Being from Boston, anything is warm to us :)

Thanks! We are originally from Ohio so I understand. 70 & 80 is still warm for us in VA this time of year also. I was wondering if we should invest in those cheap rain ponchos. I'v read alot of posts that warn aginst over packing so I am trying!!

We will be there May 7 - 12 also, staying at CBR! :woohoo: I found rain ponchos at our local Wal-Mart priced 2/$1.00 in both adult and child size so I figured better safe than sorry! If we never end up using them, they don't take up much space anyway.

:hourglass Counting the days!

Thanks! That was pretty much what I thought of doing. My DH and DSI are having a ball making fun of me and my DD forever talking Disney! They will thank us-hopefully-when our trip goes smoothly because of all our planning!

You and your DD can have a good laugh when the first rain shower starts and you pull out the ponchos! :lmao: (FYI... I found them in the camping/hunting/fishing aisles.)

Yep, that's what we think! I have to head out to Wal-Mart this afternoon so I will check them out.

We were in the World May 8 - 14, 2005. We had rain only one evening for about one hour. It started just as we were about to exit the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Boy, were those cheapie ponchos we brought from home worth it! We went to MK in the rain, and had it almost all to ourselves. After the rain stopped, my 2.5 year old daughter got to ride Magic Carpets of Aladdin 3 times without getting off. We walked right into Pirates of the Caribbean, and right onto Splash and BTMR. Very cool.

Temperatures topped off in the low 80s and it felt quite hot at times, but not as bad as a typical SUMMER in Florida. I don't know if we'll be able to go that time of year again (we went with 2 pre-schoolers), but I sure wish we could. It was warm enough to swim every night if we wanted, hot but not MELTING-hot during the day, and crowds were quite bearable.

Hi! I have been to WDW that exact time the past 2 Mays in a row. IMHO that is the ABSOLUTE bestest time to go. The morning crowds just don't exist! For example my friend and I did the entire MK except for Tomorrowland by noon. And we went on most of the rides! It was hard to decide where to go first b/c there was nobody around! It did get busy after lunch, but I'm sure it is nothing like the summer months. The weather was perfect both times - NO RAIN! - low/mid '80's. We got into all our PS reservations pretty instantly. We are planning our next trip for 2007 with my extended family and are not able to go until June and I'm so torn about the time b/c May is SO PERFECT weather and crowd-wise that I want to take the kids out of school and go then! I even have a whole bag of rain gear that I've brought w/me both trips and have never even opened!!! Hope that helps.........

Me and my DH will be at CBR May 5-13. This is our first time going in May, we usually go in the fall...........57 more days

Before my wife and I had kids we used to go in May all the time. The weather is great and the lines are not bad at all. The temperatures are usually in the 80's.

However, a couple of times when we went in May they had unusually hot weather, it was in the mid 90's most of the week we were there. All in all May is a great time and I would still go back in May.

Have a great trip.

Thank you all for the information! It has really helped. DD and I went to Wal-Mart and got the 2/$1 rain ponchos just incase. Since we are driving from VA we will have jackets with us anyway. So, I think we are good to go! Can't Wait!
