May 5th: Will there be a press event at DL?

I'm reading about a press event for May 4 to May 6 at Disney World to start off the 18 month celebration there but I hear of nothing for Disneyland. I find this ironic since the celebration really is about Disneyland. I know they are including the other parks in the celebration but I was looking forward to something special at Disneyland. We will be there for May 4 to May 9. Has anyone heard about a Disneyland press event for that time?

I've sent in for the TV show tics for Regis and Kelly for May 8th, already. I know about the new parade, fiireworks, etc. but I wanted to know if any TV/Movie personalities would be around for May 5th, etc. at the parks, etc.

There seems to be some special events planned for guests to DL in mid-July for the official anniversay. These are events that cost guests if you choose to participate.

I'm a little star-strucked and I was hoping for some famous people while we were there.

Do you think the real show will occur on May 4th when the DL park will only be open for a select few who are invited?

I just looked at the page to sign up to try and win tickets for the 4th, it says, to attend the "media event" for the 50th anniversary of Disnyland park to be held on may 4th.

So I would assume the media is going to be there.
