May 5-15, 2010 MED CRUISE on the MAGIC

I loved your report!!! Was the naples train station quite a walk away? Would it be better to get a cab? I wonder how much that would be... We are comfortable with the public transportation but wanted a tour of pompei and with two adults it would be 75 dollars each for the disney one. Which would you recommend?

I enjoyed your photos and report. We did the 2007 trip and are doing the B2B this year, last Med and TA home. Getting prepared reading the reports.

The walk was not a pleasant one...and I love walking everywhere! The walk did not tire me out, my legs can walk forever, but it did wear me out emotionally. I'm not sure how much a cab would be, but if it isn't too much, that may be the way to go. That way, you could get there before the tour buses arrive with their crowds. $150 for the two of you, doesn't sound like a bad deal to me though....there is comfort in being on a DCL excursion. Best wishes on planning your trip!

I have really enjoyed your trip report and your stunning photographs ... thanks for sharing your adventures. You children looked like they were having a wonderful time. Love the Barcelona pics too ... we have 1.5 days in Barcelona before we cruise in September and are definitely planning to visit the Hard Rock Cafe.

Fantastic report! We're spending 3 nights at the Novotel Barcelona City hotel after our cruise next month so it was great to see your pictures!

Thanks :goodvibes , you are so kind! That Hard Rock Cafe had good food (I've been to some that don't, it is hit or miss with that chain I've found)...all of our food was delicious! Wish I could join you on your cruise ;)

Have a great time!! How fun for you to fill in the gaps on what you may have missed the first time around :thumbsup2

Sorry that I didn't post more of the room for you, but I didn't bother putting any of those in my shutterfly album. It was hard to get shots of anyway, being quite small. It suited our needs just fine, and we enjoyed the location! Thanks so much and have a great cruise :goodvibes

Great trip report. Fantastic photos. We are booked on the Rome DCL excursion for families and children with the puppet show as we have an 11 and 6 year old. After reading your report, I'm wondering if we should change to the Rome excursion you did. I like the train ride vs. all motorcoach and the extra stops. Our kids aren't that excited about the puppet show but we booked that one because we thought it would be better to be on an excursion with lots of kids. Wondering what the kid count was like on your Rome excursion.... And if there were littler ones (like my six year old). Thanks in advance.

Thanks!!

There were young ones on our excursion, but not tons. This actually benefits everyone. When there are just a few strollers to be stowed at each stop, takes less time than if everyone on the excursion has brought a little one. I think it was a great tour for kids, but it is a long day. I warned my kids ahead of time and that seemed to work well....they liked it more than they thought they would. They really enjoyed the day.

For our tour, there were about 3 bus loads that used the same train. You just stayed with your own bus group and guide, so it wasn't too big. We had about 3 families using strollers on our bus for their toddlers. There were about 2 four year olds as well.

I don't think you would feel out of place for having young ones :).

Thank you. We are going to talk about this as a family. No strollers here but the six year old gets whiney about walking sometime. But there seems to be so much variety on this tour that I think we can avoid the big whines... We shall see.
