Happy Sunday Morning all!

I currently have one car that has 6 committed people and we would love to find 2 more for our vehicle. Please PM me if you are interested I am not making money off of this tour- just trying to find people, like me who want to see the same thing.

Hi Celeste,

I sent you a pm

Jen,

Great job with the website!!!

I have a Barcelona shore excursion dilemma. I want to do too much. We're also on the repo so we arrive at 7:00am on the 25th so we get 2 full days in the city. We have 2 kids (DS8 and DD5).

What I'd like to do:

Discover Barcelona and the Spanish Village (8:00am 25 May)
Aquarium and Park Guell (1:45pm 25 May)
Chocolate Museum (1:30pm 26 May)

Science Museum and Maze (12:30pm 25 May) :sad2:

I can fit in the first three but since the Science Museum is only offered on 25 May at 12:30pm it doesn't work.

Or I could do:

Science Museum and Maze (12:30pm 25 May)
Discover Barcelona and the Spanish Village (8:45am 26 May)
Gothic Quarter City Walk (4:00pm 26 May)

Can anyone tell me how far Park Guell is from the ship and if it is possible to see it on our own on the morning of 25 May?

Bottom line Chocolate Museum and Aquarium/Park Guell vs. Science Museum and Maze. Opinions?

Thanks,

Kathy

Hey Kathy-
I might be able to help you out some- there is a podcast version of the gothic quarter on the website I listed earlier. I believe there is a small fee, but you could make copies for your family and do it together on your own time- thus giving you more time to do other excursions with DCL. I believe the downloaded podcasts come with maps as well, so you know where you are going. This option is also nice because if there is something you want to stop and look at- you are able to do so at your leisure.

Also there is another travel website that offers a gothic quarter walk for $11 per person- think www.e*p*d*a.com :rolleyes1 that you can purchase via voucher system on their website. I don't know the difference between the $42 walk and a $11 walk- but hey, I can't imagine they are that different.

My plans are to do a Barcelona tour via segway the morning we leave at 11am, walk the Ramblas the day before, and possible do the Gothic tour sometime inbetween.

I don't think that the aquarium is too close- I saw a Discovery channel special on it and I want to say that I think it is an hour away from the port. It does look pretty cool, but after seeing the special- I was okay with not seeing in in person. (Also Chicago and Boston have nice aquariums and I have been to both of those.)

Hey Ken- we have a full car. I will officially contact the company and get everyone more info.

Hi Celeste

I just sent you an E-mail.

Ken

Due to the fact that I am not enticing- we now have one seat left for the Pisa/Florence trip....:confused3 :confused3

:rotfl: :rotfl: Did I mention I have dyed my hair black??:rotfl: :rotfl:

Did I mention I was married?? :rolleyes1

People who don't know me are probably confused.:sad2:

:mickeybar Hey Kathy,
Yea, we're torn about Barcelona too! DH is going to do the bike tour and DD and I are going to do the bus tour. I (of course) plan to do the chocolate museum, but can't figure out when. Kelly:mickeybar

I looked at the chocolate museum website and it looks like we can go on our own for a lot cheaper on Friday. Anyone want to give it a try via cab or train?

Good morning everyone - another day closer to the cruise!!!

What happened to the red? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I did red in college- but I have never done black. The black looks cool with my pasty white skin. :upsidedow I am trying to find a photo of me with black hair....and I don't think I have one on my computer. Shari & Linda saw me around WDW in January running around unshowered and no make up over marathon weekend. Currently, I am in the same state- I'm writing up imaging and lab reports for school that are due today.:headache:

Wow...seems like yesterday I did all those stairs. Man did that suck- I'd prefer to do a half marathon any day. I'm currently thinking about doing the 39 miles Avon breast cancer walk, since my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in December.

Pete- how was it becoming instant parents?

Celeste: did you actually do the marathon or were you a spectator? If so, full or half? I was there as a spectator and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life. Now I am so psyched that I am thinking of signing up for the half marathon next year. I'm not a runner, but I walk pretty fast and am confident I could finish in regulation time. TigerLily from the WISH thread was on our October cruise and she has done the Goofy twice.......I just can't even think about that. Congrats on your Sears Tower climb!

Shari, Alex and Carolyn all did the Goofy this year. They all walked it - but don't forget that you have maintain a very fast walking pace. If you have questions about the half or full marathon, I'm sure they would be happy to address them.

All three are signed up for the half marathon at Disneyland in September.

I did the half- walking. I finished a few seconds behind Shair and a few minutes behind Alex & Carolyn. My husband walked the full and I saw Alex, Carolyn, and Shari all finish- I was screaming like a mad woman.

I have been on the WISH thread- so I know who TigerLily is, she is very, very nice.

I am going to do the full next year and I am going to train to run it. I want to finish between 4 and 4.5 hours. I am not a runner- so this will be a challenge for me.

The Sears tower was really, really hard. My asthma kicked in and I had a hard time. However, I took it slow and finished.

I am thinking about doing the DL half....

Okay- here are some images of me, with black hair and one underwater in St. Kitts from the last cruise.

Congratulations to all of you on your marathon success!!!! That is so amazing! Alex, Shari and Carolyn.....what are their screen names and will they be coming along on the first Med cruise also?

I just saw your photo, Celeste......you are but a mere child compared to me! I'll be turning 54 on the Med cruise and will be closer to 55 when - and if - I do the Disney half. I can walk fairly fast and average under a 15 minute mile on the treadmill. Today I walked outside and did 6.38 miles in 96 minutes. That's just marginally over a 15 minute mile but it included 2 short - but fairly steep - hills which slowed me down I'm sure. I figure I have nearly an entire year to train for the event so hopefully I will get even faster. My goal is to do the half in 08 and if i'm successful with that, try for the full in '09. I don't think I could EVER pull off the Goofy! Gotta hand it to you guys that do.

You can do it!!!!

Shari is "spros" - Alex and Carolyn go by "first timers" and yes, we will all be on the First Magical Med Cruise.

Ken

I love you, too, Jenn? Peter?
