Have wondered why several of Palermo excursions say that any one with breathing problems, neck or back injuries can not do. Can not see any reason and would like to do one of them.

This is our first Disney Cruise. We have been reading all of the posts and wonder if we can still get a lanyard and do the wine tasting in the suite. Keep all of that helpful information coming.

Welcome aboard Maryon! Did you intend to use maryonb as your disboard name?

Anyway - you may want to go back and look at the first post on page 55 of this thread. That will give you some info about the cruise list and who to contact for the wine tasting party.

All I need for the lanyards is the first name of each person in you group.

Ken

Lots of steps and/or low spaces on some of the tours?

WELCOME! :cheer2: :welcome: :cheer2:

Hop right on in there - this crew has a ton of info to share. Chances are if you have a question, someone else wants to know the answer too!

For the wine tasting, all I need is the same as Ken - first names of everyone attending.

Glad to have you here!

I think the altitude and steep hike could be some of the issue - most people with asthma or COPD would not be able to make the hike without making sure they have the stamina in lower oxygen enviroments. (as an asthma sufferer I am having my pulmonologist make sure I can do it...I may even have to go on steroids to be sure I will be up to it!!) I am not going to let it stop me - I just have to be careful...I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS... UNLESS YOUR DOCTOR SAYS IT IS ALRIGHT!!!!

Sorry to "yell" I just feel the need to be sure that people make informed choices and use their physicians for medical advice - not the boards (not to say that people here don't know what they are talking about - but each person is unique and only they and their doc know the exact thing that is right for them!!)

Quick question for you all: We booked air through DCL for security purposes...in case our flight got late. We have a soecific flight that we have been eyeing and our TA told us that we can pay extra $$ to secure a specific flight through DCL. Has anyone ever heard of this or done this before? How much money are they generally expecting? Our TA told us she sent an email request to DCL on Monday and we haven't heard back from her. Any experiences/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We also booked our air through DCL. Requesting a specific flight/airline/day/time are some of the requests that could be made. However, this is the fine print at the bottom of the air change request form available on the online checkin page:

Requests are subject to availability and confirmation for a non-refundable fee of $50.00 per person (subject to change). Additional airline charges and certain restrictions may apply. Guests deviating from our standard air program may forfeit ground transfers and hotel accommodations if applicable.

We were under the impression that the catacombs were a breathing hazard because of the spores, mold and fungus from the mummies and dampness? Don't know if this is true, but we thought it made it seem more spooky. :scratchin

Hey Sue, do you have the details on the fountains? We have a big group interested in this for the repo as well. Maybe it wasn't you and I'm confusing who originally mentioned it. I know that Kathy is interested as well.

(posted below on repo thread, so you don't have to double read if you saw it there!)
Hi all, we went to DL today and it was HOT and extremely crowded. The US National cheerleading competition was taking place with thousands of cheerleaders and their families It was so crowded at 9am that we it took us an hour to get through Star Tours (normally 5-10 min.) Today was the big day that Zoe was tall enought to get on ST, so we were committed to waiting. She loved it!!! I studied at the George Lucas wing of the USC film school and am in love with all things Star Wars. That ride is an example the way all movies should be expierienced (from the filmmakers perspective) From (DH) Jonathan's pov it only makes him have motion sickness. I was so glad that she loved it. Then we headed straight out of the park and went to CAdv. which was the most crowded I'd ever seen it in my life. Got into Monster's in 10 min. and Bear in the big blue house, but everything was so crowded that I had a frustrated 3 3/4 year old. We did, however, walk up at the right time to see the High School Musical Pep Rally twice. All I could think about were you HSM fans - I was laughing to myself. The final event of the day was Soaring over CA which she just loved! Big Day here. But really couldn't wait to get out of there.

Hey everyone! I haven't been on these boards since we cruised DCL 10/16/04 Western Caribbean.

I have 3 sons 16, 14, and 12. My daughter who is 11, and being the only girl, would like to meet and email a friend before the cruise.

She's outgoing, loves soccer, piano, basketball and all animals.

We can't wait to meet all of you!

Lori:crowded:

Is anyone else spending extra time in Barcelona? We have two days before and two days after the cruise. Does anyone have any activities planned? Also, where are you staying? We have 11 people going. 6 adults/5 children.
We're having a tough time finding hotels that will hold 4 in a room for a reasonable price.

Also, is the Mediterranean, is that a place you can snorkel at all?

Welcome aboard Scooby3x1y!

You may want to take a look at the first post on page 55 of this thread for some general info. If you want to get on the lanyard list, please PM me the first names of everyone in your group. The name badges and lanyards are free.

Milestogo: I'm a little confused....was that your post or a quote from someone else on the DIS? If it's yours, we have some common interests. My son is an aspiring (AKA starving) film maker. We are very familiar with USC as he almost did his undergrad there. He finally opted for NYU's Tisch School instead since at the time we were living in NJ. Then he got his Masters in Cinematography at AFI. It's a tough industry and I'll be thankful for any advice you may have to share.

Would try Kayak.com
Site will allow you to do the search! :flower3:

We also spend 2 nights in BCN after the cruise!
Nothing planned.
Still need to book the rooms ;)

Another day closer to this cruise!

Welcome Aboard :cool1:

Hi Yes, it was my quote from my post on the repo thread... Yes, I spent 10 years in entertainment, but took a different direction than your son. I went into theater and comedy. I spent a summer at USC film school's intensive program (8 weeks, 60 hr per week) then went to UCLA for 2 year's in their continuing program so I could focus on multi-camera television. I worked on several sit-coms, films, shorts and then stayed in stand up comedy, theater and sketch comedy. AFI is the dream degree (esp cinematography.) With that degree he'll always be able to find work, but you are right it is tough. After 10 years, I was tired of always wondering where my next job would be and decided to use everything I knew to move into something more stable. It was making me crazy.

:badpc: Ate my post!

Round #2:
Magic fountains of Mont Juic:
They run from 8pm to 11:30pm every 30 minutes. I was planning on meeting you there on Friday night! The fountains are at the base of Mont Juic near Placa Espanya. You walk from Placa Espanya towards the Museu National d'Art Catalunya. The Magic Fountains are at the base of the museum steps. There are fountains lining the walk from Placa Espanya that are also lit at night. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Now the only question would be when and where?? And what to wear so I can find your repo group!

Sue
