Hi Celeste,

We want to go to Pisa and go up the tower and also see David.
We tried to get the VIP Pisa tour but it was all booked at 3:00am when we signed on. We would also like to see David but not do the DCL tour which seems long and highly priced. There are 4 of us. Can you tell me who you are using for your private trip? 100 Euros PP isn't badf. It would be great to be picked up at the Port and go to spots you like and not have to figure out the trains. We are planning on doing the train thing in Rome.

Thanks for the info!!

Faith

Hi Faith-
PM me your email and I will send you the information.

I am getting ready to take a nap, so I probably won't get back to you for a while- but I will follow up

Sadly, we too were not able to book anything Palo beyond dinner on the first sea day. But you must also remember that they don't open everything up online. DCL does save a number of reservation times for booking onboard. This could simply be a rare instance where every single concierge guest booked brunch and tea and ate up most of the online availability.

...

Here are the other things we have booked:

Palermo: Erice and Segesta
Naples: Timeless Pompeii and the Flavor of Sorrento
Olbia: Gnocchetti Sardi and Ravioli
Civitavecchia: Jumping Back into Eternal Rome
La Spezia: Wine Tasting and Sarzana
Marseille: Chateau Neuf Du Pape and Avignon
Villefranche: Nice and Eze with Wine and Cheese

Plus all our spa appointments on sea day mornings.

Jen

It wasn't concierge guests. You could book Palo brunch or tea reservations at almost any time when I checked around 11pm last night. I was debating whether to book brunch. I'm guessing they just didn't open all that many reservations. There should be more again at the 75 day mark and again onboard.

We'll see you at the Gnochetti Sardi and Ravioli excursion. What time are you taking the Nice and Eze with Wine and Cheese? We already have a pretty good group going in the afternoon.

Sue

Hey, I tried to book Palo and child reg. at around 11pm last night and couldn't do it! BUMMER. I called DCL this morning and they said there was nothing available at this time, but the computer opens them up at intervals. ... And to keep trying!

On the repo we have a book exchange planned. The bag will be at our door rail, so if you guys would like to continue that on the 11 night we'd be happy to keep it there for both cruises. Since we don't know where our final room will be we will bring change of address slips to hand out to you at the party or on your fish mail.

How were you able to do this? We have in-laws traveling too, in a different room, and can't seem to get it to accept them. HELp!

Kinda peeved about the whole Palo thing. We got dinner reservations but had no luck on tea or brunch. We were told midnight eastern we could book, we tried to no avail. Got up this morning early and tried again. Just no Palo luck... guess we have to wait in that fun line when we get on the ship! :)

Oh well!

-Laurie

The only thing I can think of is that we are 4 and 2 in-laws. So we put my husband and 1 child with his mother in one room, and myself, other daughter and sister in -law in the other. For some reason, we were able to book everyone. I think if the in-laws were only in the room themselves and not one of us who is a CC member, then they wouldn't be able to book.

I originally did this room arrangement so we could get a CC gift in each room.

Bob what snow ???

do i need to put the plow on?

The weather folks are still saying snow tonight (1-3 inches); radar is showing snow moving into Ct/RI border. Maybe they'll be right this time. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know if you'll get any looks like it's hugging the coast.

Forget the plow question, the real question is grassskirt or no grassskirt?? :lmao: :lmao:

Off to watch the Oscars...

The stem to stern wine tasting is something you have to book on board at Guest Services. Our experience has been that Guest Services knows when the various wine tastings are, but doesn't know much else about them. So if you book when you first come aboard, you are booking in the dark about what the tasting is all about.

For example - on the 11 Wonder back in September, they had at least 3 wine tastings (maybe more). They were all different. We booked two. Just happened to get Reislings from Germany and wines of the Russian River area of California. Guest services didn't have a clue about them - all they knew was the date and time.

So, check with Guest Services when you get on board.

I love being treated like the adult I am...

Another Day Closer to this cruise! :thumbsup2 Happy Monday!!!

Has anyone heard whether or not Disney will have special pins to commemorate the different ports of call for the Mediterranean cruise? I hesitate to ask knowing what grief those of us who were on the inaugaral Panama canal cruise went through to get those pins .... but I know that Disney learned much from that experience:rolleyes1 so I would expect any pin distribution to be much less problematic.

Nice rooms :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks! :) We loved 8500 last cruise. It was awesome to watch the captain docking the boat. Not to mention if anyone is smoking on their verandah it doesn't blow into our room! :) A major plus for me! :)

Now we have that done! I just have to get over the nerve of fling with our son for the first time! :) Ugh!

Laurie,
I flew with Noah many times when he was very young to England from Massachusetts. What are your concerns and maybe I can give you some pointers. I do remember a bumpy landing coming into Logan- that ended up with vomit on myself and the girl next to us. I wanted to die. He wasn't allowed to fly without dramamine after that point. Also helps encourage sleep- which is nice.

Do you just call and ask if my room has been assigned or what do you say?
We are a cat 12 GTY and hoping for at least a 10.

I know this has been answered here somewhere before, but didn't land on it when scanning a few of the pages. What time can we start boarding at the Port in Barcelona? I know we need to be on before 9 for the lifeboat drill.

DCL has the same spiel in the cruise booklet as all their boardings - 1pm. I did find out that you can dump luggage and go if you want (to sightsee, for example). You can also check-in and leave as long as you bring your passport to get back on. I keep thinking that the port would be open at 10 but I don't recall where I saw/read that or why I think so.

HTH!
