Mari,

Is this the day? I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to try a digi scrapbook or traditional. I'd love to see some of your pages.

Tracy,

Our thoughts are still with you guys.

Have a great day all

Ellen

Ellen,

PM me with your email and I'll send you a link to the Kodak gallery where I have my favs. I took 1434 frames and whittled it down to about 250....but I keep printing out more for the scrapbook. I am not a 'creative memories' person, I just do what I want to do and what pleases me! :cool1: :goodvibes

As for Lauren, her surgery is tomorrow, Thurs, at 11 AM PDT. As soon as I get home from work, I'll email the board on how she's doing. Allison didn't want any company at the hosp, I offered and so did our pastor, Pastor Holly. Nope, goin' it alone. Allison has had about 14 surgeries....all but one relatively minor...eyes, ears, knees. So both of us are well accustomed to waiting rooms............esp ME!

Thank you, all for warm thoughts and pixie dust. Mari

You are almost done scrapping? Do you work outside the home? Eat? Sleep?
I havn't even started yet! Although I have been buying papers and everything else for the past year!
Would you like to do mine for me?
I am sorry tho that I can't help you with the font, but I will be watching for the replies you get!;)

To all of those out there with families that are not doing well, thoughts, prayers and lots of love go out to all of you!

Rita,

Just crazy. I purchased 3 scrapbooking kits on the ship and I'm almost out of the pages and Lauren has helped me use up the stickers!!! You are so kind to offer your memories to me, but I'm afraid I couldn't do them justice...ARE YOU NUTS???? :crazy2: I have more than enough to keep me busy. I started out with the nightmare in London and then follow that by all the excursions from Barcelona to Villefranche. That took 25 double-sided pages. I included excursion tickets, any small paper reminders and of course pix and stickers. Some of the pix I did highlight with secondary colors. Next what I am going to do is all the meals with pix of the menu covers and the candid shots of dinners with friends, drinks in the bar with friends, drinks by the pool with friends....ahhh...the memories keep flooding in my mind...no cracks needed from this p-nut gallery!!! I will end up the scrapbook with various candid shots with characters....Disney and Human..Sandy, Deb and Linda to name JUST a few!:lmao: :jumping1:
And I do work full-time, obviously I eat and I do sleep VERY well!!!:cloud9: Have fun, Rita and enjoy!
Mari

I've done both digi books and traditional. I opted for traditional this time because I have other items I wanted to include..vouchers, museum tickets, notes from the ship, etc. I may yet do a digi book just to be able to take something small to share outside the house...the scrapbook is just too Big!
I will take a few pix of the pages in the next couple of days and I'll put them on the Kodak site.
Take care, Mari

I should also add that mom is not totally incapacitated. This in a way makes this more difficult. I think she wants to prove that she is not sick by doing too much. She hasn't left the house except for doctor's appointments, but she does the laundry and dishes (when we leave her alone for a short amount of time) and then she's exhausted and sore. How can we convince her to stop doing things before she gets tired?

We have talked about hospice and do intend to get them in there when it gets to be too much for my sister and I.

Tracy,
My mom did the same thing...except she lived 4 hrs away and I couldn't help her too much...now she lives .7 of a mile from me and I'm much happier! Let her do whatever she can. Her body will tell her when to stop. She still needs to feel like a productive person in life. Let her do it. Even perhaps ask her to help you to do something....something she can do perhaps sitting down..and let her know it would REALLY help you out. She feels needed and not such a 'burden' as they usually feel. To us, it is not a burden, but an act of love and appreciation. I have given my mom some books that I really liked...she is very religious and I have a few spiritual books and some on healing. She really likes those kind of books, and then we can sit and discuss them. I enjoy is as much as I think mom does!
Take care and hang in there. Hugs and prayers are with you.

Peter's disk went out today. Bill was going to take it to the post office and it would probably leave the same time that Jeanne's left but I said no, he can wait :rotfl:

 Hello to our lovely and wonderful disboard family!:grouphug: ,

Lauren came thru surgery just wonderfully. Mom, Miss Sara, her Sunday school teacher, and Pastor Holly were there at her bedisde for her!!! All went well and the doc said that the tonsils and adnoids were horrible and so icky and infected. He is certain this has been the root of all the problems. She's upstairs in mommie's room watching cartoons, eating push-pops, gatorade, and icecream!!!I asked her how she was doing and she said 'good'. They gave her versed....a wonderful mind altering drug and Allison said that she was just hilarious....kinda like a funny drunk but a six year old who has had some goofy juice. If I can figure out how to post a pic, I will.
Thank you all for your ice cream thoughts and warm fuzzy prayers. I means an awful lot to me.
Now I do have one other request. My mom saw the doctor yesterday and she found 'something' in one of her breasts. Mom is a lung and colon cancer survivor and now she's a bit worried about this. She'll have a mammogram and ultrasound soon and hopefully that will give us some clues. Please keep her in your thoughts.
How's it goin' Tracy? Hope you are hanging in there!!!
My love to all of you. You are the best!!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :disrocks:

Digiscrapbooks are great. I did a beautiful for our son's wedding and I am really proud of it. They are not hard to do, but they are time consuming and in front of a 'puter for a while. Also, there is no room to really customize them...ticket stubs, cards, post cards, notes from DCL, cute notes from the disboard...etc. You must do one at some time because they are really impressive and much easier to cart around.
Thanks for the samoa...careful of the coconut...it might get caught in her ex-tonsil site!:rotfl2: !
Thanks, Mari

Hi Everyone

Off to Long Beach tomorrow to watch our son play in a pro beach volleyball tournament.

Have a great weekend!
Ken

Mari: pixie dust to Lauren for a speedy recovery and to your mom for hopefully a good diagnosis.

Ken: good luck to your son in the tournament!

We had some friends over last weekend and tried to duplicate the vanilla martinis. If you use the exact ingredients, it will be a VERY expensive drink, which is probably why DCL does not offer it on the menu. Around here, Galliano, Amaretto (the good kind), and Absolute Vanilla are each about $23-$25 a bottle. Our local ABC store did not even carry White Godiva so we had to use some other form of white chocolate liquer. We also got the cheaper Amaretto. We substituted a French vanilla coffee creamer for the vanilla ice cream mix because I have no idea where to get that. The martinis were good, but not as decadent as the ones on the ship. Everyone else seemed to like them, but they they just seemed to be missing that pizaaz. I guess I'll just need another cruise to get the real thing.......
