I think it is about 12 day til we can book at the sites we have been using, 330 days out.
so far it is going to be about 800 :teeth: per person from Boston and Wisconsin will share when we actually book.. :wizard:

Booking on your own might be better. :wizard:

Thank you, you guys will be one of the first obviously. I thought your dates opened up. I know we have about two more months.

As of now, we have one cabin booked with cash and we booked ground transfers (which we intend to keep) and airfare at $1,336. We also have one cabin with three people on points - will have ground transfers but have not booked air on this yet. Obviously, we are all one family and will be in one plane :) - but I also feel that we should be able to get a better rate. Even a $100 - $150 savings per person will add up for all five of us. (We will be 12 people all together on this cruise).

Thank you again - appreciate any quotes as they come along.

From what we have found most flights route us From Boston to JFK, then nonstop to Barcelona !!!

I see no problem with you being able to save alot of money verses DCL air.

For example
$823.00
Delta
Flight 5411 Departs: 5:00p
Logan Inter*national (BOS) Arrives: 6:20p
John F Kennedy Intl (JFK)
Economy | Canadair Regional Jet | 1h 20m
Layover at John F Kennedy Intl (JFK) for 2h 0m
Delta
Flight 94 Departs: 8:20p
John F Kennedy Intl (JFK) Arrives: 10:25a
Barcelona (BCN)
Economy | Boeing 767 Passenger | 8h 5m
price seem a little lower today than other days ! could not book...

Did search out of JFK For You ? Prices are as low as $629.00 :teeth:

Hi again everyone. Just wanted you all to know that SweetSue's DD is having surgery tomorrow. As soon as I hear that she's out of surgery, I'll post again.

Thanks T
How is it going ? :thumbsup2

Surgery lasted about 7 hours. Christina is doing well. She's having a hard time with the "no water" rule, but otherwise good. Sue is exhausted and will check back in tomorrow.

Hi
Just been reading this thread ! It's just amazing how many Disney enthusiast people are on this trip - its great !

We, my wife and little boy Zac (2 years), and the Med 26 May cruise will be our 2nd Disney cruise (room 7070 again) and this time we are Zac's grandparents ! (room 7072 I think)

I have seen somebody on another med thread start an excel list of people on their cruise - did somebody start one for the 26 May ?

Also, are we the only UK cruisers on this cruise - seems like it ?

Yes, SweetSue has started the list. I'm maintaining it while her daughter is recovering. I will make sure your information gets on the list :thumbsup2 Once Sue "gets back", she'll be working on getting the list online.

By the way, Christina is doing well the day after surgery.

Hi all, I'm so very glad to hear that Christina is doing well.

I just spent two hot weeks at DL with family from out of state. We had some great interactions with characters, DN6 went on lots of new rides this year as she was tall enough, so it changed the parks for her. But the most exciting was the opening of Pirates - very fun new stuff!!!!

Now I'll be getting back to work and that list of goals to be ready for next year's trip. It seems closer now!

Welcome Aboard !!! :Pinkbounc

Welcome garylpn! Glad to have you join us!

I booked my flight this morning......just under $900/person for RDU to BCN. I could have gotten almost $100 less per ticket but it involved 3 stops instead of 2 and multiple airlines. We opted to pay more and go with Delta all the way. I just hope they remain in business. I have insurance for the cruise portion with Disney.....is there any way I can insure the flight portion on my own? It's alot of money to lose if something goes wrong.

Jeanne, if you go to www.insuremytrip.com, you can indicate that you are looking for insurance on the flight only portion of the trip.

Just wanted to let everyone know that SweetSue's DD Christina is likely coming home from the hospital tomorrow!! :cheer2: She started eating food yesterday (jello, popsicles) and will likely be eating real food tonight.

If anyone wants any more information, let me know and I can pass along links or addresses as needed.

Tracy

Thanks, Tracy....I'll check them out.

Glad that SweetSue's DD is recovering nicely.

Like, when are you going & returning :goodvibes :teeth:

I will have to have My Cruise director Get on this ! T :teeth:

we opted to play it safe and leave one day early. We leave Raleigh fairly late (about 4:45pm) so John will be able to put in at least half a day at work. Our flight to Spain is out of JFK at around 8pm and we arrive in Barcelona at 10:25 am. We'll either take a taxi or public transportaion to our hotel on Las Ramblas and enjoy a day in Barcelona. The port is very close by and so we will take similar transportation to the dock. I will need to call Disney and cancel our transfers. We are returning the same day we disembark. I think the flight leaves at around 12:30pm which will not be a problem since everything is close. I was hoping to get something in the $600's but with the high cost of fuel, I don't see it happening.
Tell your travel consultant to get on with it!

Flight 94 it is! We have seats 18 A & B which is the 3rd row of coach. I actually thought you were planning to leave on Wednesday so you could have 2 days in Barcelona. Your flight is probably cheaper because you are starting out in Boston. It would be great to be on the same plane. International flights are so boring; at least we can all be bored together!

Apparently there is a train you get at the airport for 2.7 Euros ($4?) that connects with the city metro system. It's a 12 minute ride. Depending on how much or how little luggage we have we might do that. At least my traveling companion is fluent in Spanish!

booking flights through Disney (as well as those of you who have booked flights yourself), when are you flying back from Barcelona? I am assuming that I am not going to be able to fly out before 12:25? Does anyone know when the flights Disney is booking begin to take off? Do you think 12:25 is realistic? The one possible itinerary with a 12:25 departure that has us back at our local airport the next day would only leave us 1 hour 25 minutes to change planes in Paris. Has anyone been to the Paris airport? Don't you think that we would need more time to change planes even assuming that the plane is on time? Right now I'm leaning toward spending overnight the next day in the Atlanta airport and then flying to our regional airport in Mississippi the following morning.

Marie

Our return flight leaves at 12:25pm also but we fly direct to JFK (Delta) and then have a stopover of 2hours 10 minutes before our next and final flight. I feel very comfortable with the 12:25 takeoff as the airport is fairly close. We have late seating so even if we disembark at 9 and kill an hour going through customs and luggage retrieval, we should still arrive at the airport with 2 hours to spare. It might even be easier with the DCL transfers as they take care of alot of the scut stuff. I plan to cancel my transfers because we are arriving a day early and I booked my own air, but may decide to purchase them back to the airport while I'm on the ship if it seems like a good deal and offers less hassle. Plus, we don't have to stay until the clock strikes 9am; we can always leave at 8:30 and give ourselves a little more of a cushion. There was a flight that left closer to 1:30 pm, but if we took that one, we needed 2 more flights to get back home and we arrived about 4 1/2 hours later. I think we'll be fine. Besides, if the ship arrives late for some reason and we miss our flight, we'll deal with it........we're only going home. I'm way more concerned with ARRIVING at Barcelona on time......if we miss the cruise I'd be devastated!

ooops, forgot to address the Paris airport issue. I've been there but don't remember enough to make an intelligent comment. If you're switching from one airline to another carrier, it may involve changing terminals and that could be tricky in a foreign airport unless you speak the language. Is there any way you could book a flight from BCN directly to the states? At least that way you would know what you'd be dealing with. We could have saved about $100 per person if we flew from BCN to London (where they speak good English!), but decided it wasn't worth it. Hope this helps.....
