May 25, 2012 - Magical 8-night cruise - NYC to the Bahamas!

Email states you can take a bus back from WDW at 11pm. The latest bus. Says we leave or need to be onboard by 1130pm. We dont leave at that time? Says its 90 minute ride. I think less but thats okay.

Whos to say we will be back if last bus is 11?

My guess is that they will not leave before that last bus in back and that they will take an attendance of who is on that bus. I wouldn't risk staying that late if you weren't using Disney transportation, but with their transportation, I'm sure they are accounting for it.

Figured as much..

Okay - going to lay down - experiencing a panic attack, was online at the party store. Haven't had one of these dumb things in over a year. Amazing wht triggers them! it stinks!

Sorry for any confusion - abbreviations are as follows: may use dearest instead of darling
DD: darling daughter
DS: darling son
DH: darling husband
DM: darling mom
DBF: darling boy friend
DGF: darling girlfriend
DW: darling wife
BFF: best friend forever
SO: significant other
DF: dearest friend

I agree that this needs to be clarified, can I please confirm these names and genders?

Drparoo: Aiden - DD; Delany - DS?
sftnslky: Macy DD or DS?; Kasey DD?

as far as flights - I use Kayak.com I find the prices are the best and the search is very easy

Thanks for the list of abbreviations, although I did know most of those. It was some of the names without them next to them and I was having to guess! As well as the names above, can I also check on kaleb being a boys name? Can't think of any others without going into the list, but the site is being really slow tonight.

I have got alerts set up with kayak from 3 UK airports into any airport in New York. If only I'd booked when I first set them up, as they've all gone up at least £70, but at the time I thought the price was expensive and expected it to go down and not up! Going to have to hold my nerve and hope for price drops nearer the time.

Have booked our hotel finally, Crowne Plaza in Times Square for 1 night before and 4 nights after. So excited!

Can anyone tell me if the Photopass exists on the cruises? I've always liked using that service when we go to the parks and thought it would be convenient on the ship as well.

I wish I could answer your question and it's a great question.
I hope so - as when we cruised on NCL last May, we had to search thru
hundreds of photos to find ours...

Does anyone know... how you get a special pass for the rides?
My Mom just had back surgery and should be up and running by the cruise, but just in case she has any draw-backs, we can just get her a wheelchair for WDW?

We are also going to need a wheelchair for my Dad. There is no way that he is going to be able to walk all day...for more than an hour, really. He plans on renting a motorized scooter for the day. I think they are around $50.

Also, as cruise passengers, I believe that we are treated as if we are staying at one of the onsite hotels, so we should be able to use the Fast pass system to get on the more popular rides.

Oh - good luck to him - hope he's okay.

She's up and running now, but should be taking it easy and doesn't LOL

As for the tickets, I'm sure if we use our hopper pass we can get a fast pass, just like anyone else.. a ticket is a ticket, no?

Do you think we'll be able to see Wishes on the WDW day? Or do you think it would be cutting it too close to the 11pm bus boarding time? Wishes is at 10 pm

Is Wishes different from Illuminations? There is a tour to stay and see Illuminations that is listed on the port excursion site?

Happy New Year everyone (just a little late!!)

Just a little housekeeping for the Fish Extender list.

-I have updated the lists as of today, and have answered all PM’s and posts that I could find.

-Please check the link for this cruise and make sure I have your entire information correct, if not – PLEASE send me a PM with any corrections needed.

-I added the quantity of cabins under the heading of Cabin #

-I will make a post at the 75-day mark with the consensus of when to close the list. May 25th cruise – 75 days is Mar 11

-This will allow anyone who wants to join to do so

Hi! Could I join in on the FE list? Please tell me what info you need from me! Thanks :)

Its kind of similar I think from what I remember of our cruise last year. You can buy a CD with all your photos on, but it was ridiculously expensive (well I thought so anyway!). They also do various packages where you buy "credits". I think the package I bought was $149 and it got me 10 10x8 pictures.

The photos are lovely, but you'd have to go some to make a CD worthwhile I think, although I guess it depends on if you go to all the character meets and stuff. We didn't, so it was mainly nice pictures from formal night, pirate night and some other dinners.

Photopass was not available on the Magic last year. You have to buy the photos or CD onboard. Yes, it's EXPENSIVE even with the package. Use your own camera at character greetings to save money.

Hey gang.....man, I haven't been on the boards for months!! Need to start getting ready for the May cruise as our 120 day window opens this week.

Aidan is a boy.
Delaney is a girl.

I promise I'll be better about keeping up to date from now on!!!

Hi everyone!

I figured I'd join this thread now that we've officially booked (yay!).

I do have some questions about the Disney World day... is DCL providing buses for free to the parks or do we need to pay for the transportation? Also, since food isn't included, does anyone know if it's ok to take some snacks off the ship for the kids?

Thanks!

We did this (using own camera) but the photographer won't do it for you, so we had to ask someone else in the queue to do it. Still ended up buying the to photo package though!

Welcome TeresaG. The buses are free. I will certainly be taking some snacks of the ship with me, whatever I can snaffle from breakfast I expect (plus some cookies that I'll order from room service!). I don't find food in the parks that good for vegetarians, fries, fries and more fries!

With the 2013 announcement today...anyone else glad like me that I ended up booking an NYC DCL cruise this year? Originally was going to pass and wait til 2013, but I'm glad we didn't!
