We are a party of 6 adults and 8 kids 12 and under that are heading to DLR. We plan on arriving at our hotel the Holiday Inn Express Resort at approximately 7:00 pm the evening of May 24. We are staying until approx. 12:30 pm on Memorial Day when we have to leave to head to the airport.

We have 5 day park hoppers tickets. My question is what day will make best use of our 5th day in the parks? Wednesday evening or 1/2 day Memorial Day. Wednesday May 24 is also a Grad night. Thank you so much for your help.

I would avoid the grad night. If you get to the park at opening on memorial day, you should be able to get a lot of stuff done before you need to leave. I'd go with that choice just to have less crowds.

I would book Goofy's kitchen for dinner that first night and shop DTD and save your 5t day for Memorial Day. You'll have better ride access in the morning plus be able to revisit anything you loved earlier. :)

I also agree with the morning plan - last week was very crowded but we were able to do so much in the first couple of hours.

I'll add another vote for Memorial Day morning. That's a pretty tight schedule after checking in at your hotel and seems pretty late to start. If the kids are little, that will be exhausting for them too and could affect an early start the next morning at rope drop. You'll be able to ride your favorites again Monday morning before you leave.

Haha, you and I have almost the exact same trip booked, except I'm a party of 1, and my flights are both later.

My flight gets into LAX at 9pm Wednesday, so optimistically, it will be at least 10pm before I get to Disneyland. I'll only get about an hour at the park, tops IF I make good time. So like others here have suggested, I just plan to have dinner and futz around Downtown Disney that night. (Any suggestions for Dinner? Again, Party of 1, no kids. I kind of want to check out Trader Sams, because I've never been, but they only seem to have bar food, so I'm not married to the idea. I love Earl of Sandwich, but I've been many times in Orlando, so I'd rather do something new.)

Disneyland is open 'til midnight all weekend past Wednesday, so I'm figuring it will be the best time for Downtown Disney.

As for Memorial day, I'm definitely using a day, because again, my flight is much later. Leaving the parks approx. 8pm... to make an 11:15pm flight. So I'll get most of the day.

I actually have a different dilemma, in that I'm going to Universal Sunday, but I have a 5 Day Disney Hopper. I'll basically be waisting a day, but it cost literally the exact same as a 4 day through the site I bought it at, so I went with 5 day anyway on a "just incase" ... I figure if by some miracle my flight gets in WAY early, I could use the extra day Wednesday night, OR if get back from Universal on the early side Sunday, I can always hit up Disneyland for a few extra hours. We'll see.

Thanks everyone! Memorial Day it is! We plan on going to Downtown Disney when we get there and turn our e-confirmation into paper tickets to holpefully speed up the next morning at the turnstile. Give the kids a little Disney magic and get good rest to hit our one Magic Morning the next morning.
