Hello all,

My wife and I are thinking about flying down to WDW from Toronto for the Memorial Day weekend and enjoy WDW 24 hours of MK. We have never done this before and this may be our first trip to WDW without our kids.

We found some cheap flights and already have park passes that don't expire. We are thinking about the following plan. Please take a look and let us know what you think. We are very open to suggestions and advice based on your prior experience doing 24 hours of Disney.

  • Fly out of Toronto @ 6:30am EST
  • Arrive in Orlando @ 9:30am EST
  • Take the Magical Express to Value Resort on Property (Thinking we will stay at PoP Century of an All Star Resort)
  • Check in if room is ready. If not, drop our bags and take the bus to Downtown Disney
  • Hang out at Downtown Disney, grab lunch, and figure out dinner. Maybe at a resort hotel or something.
  • Get to bed early
  • Wake up @ 4am on Friday May 23rd to get to MK by 5:45am (Park opens at 6am)
  • Do the 24 hours of MK
  • Start heading back to our resort at 6am Saturday morning, grab breakfast along the way or something
  • Sleep till about 3-4pm
  • Head out for dinner and maybe back to Downtown Disney
  • Back to the resort to sleep
  • Wake up, enjoy to pool a bit, pack up and take the Magical Express to the airport to catch our 7pm flight back home.

So at a high level that is our plan. Does that look doable?

Are there any "Must do's " during the 24 MK adventure?

Do you guys have any tips or tricks that we should know about as it relates to the 24 hrs MK

Thanks in advance ya'll

Unfortunately, I can't answer your questions..because I have the same ones! We are flying in just for the 24 hour party.. we are planning on Epcot during the day and MK at night (we bought a Park Hopper)

I'm mostly concerned about food options after hours....

So basically,I'm no help but I'm watching this closely!

Hi there. WOW! You guys are doing 2 parks in one day and Epcot is huge too.

I found this blog about last year's 24-hr event. Some helpful info included but I'm still looking for some more first hand feedback, tip and tricks. Hope this will help you.

Looks like a great plan to me...except one thing- can you get an extended check out? I did not confirm this, but I recall our check out being at 11. That would interfere with your sleeping plan. And I'm not sure how you will have enough time to go DTD, swim and nap again from 4-7?

We're heading down for the 24 hour event as well. I might suggest you consider a monorail resort for the two nights you will be there, just to make travel to and from the event easier (and allow for an easy trip back to the room in case someone needs a nap!).

Other than that, seems like your plan is solid.

Sorry for the confusion. Saturday, when we return from MK in the AM we will grab food then sleep until Sat afternoon, head out to dinner and spend the night agin at the resort. Our flight does not leave until Sunday evening therefore giving us more time.

Yes! I agree with the monorail suggestion. We usually use our DVC points and stay at BLT but this was such a last minute thing, We just booked our flights and accommodations today, we could not find a room at BLT via DVC.

Because this was not a scheduled trip for us, we are trying to keep the budget low so I could not see myself spending over $300 a night for a room that I will not be in much.

During our last trip we were at MK from open @ 8:45am and lasted till about 2:30am. My wife and I could have kept going but we had our 10 and 8 yr old kids with us and they could not last any longer. So I think we can do 24hr.

Hope we survive. It's gonna be so much fun!!!!

Yes, we'll have our boys with us so it will definitely be different (we considered a couples only weekend, but the 23rd is my birthday and I can't imagine not being with the kids that day)!:lovestruc

I think it is HIGHLY unlikely all four of us make it all night, so we bit the bullet for a monorail resort. We're also planning on spending much of the next day sleeping, lounging by the pool and relaxing so we can make the most of the resort.

Can't wait - it should be awesome!:hyper:

We are going to the 24 hour event at MK too! First, time so excited. We, however, plan to party the entire weekend with little sleep. Our plans as follows:

Leave from West Palm Beach at 5 PM Thursday night
Check into POP at about 8:30 PM Thursday night
Have ressie at Beaches n' Cream at 10 PM
Friday morning... plan to arrive at MK at 4 AM
Ride and do what we can until 8 AM
Go to AK - use our Fastpass +'s
Come back to Mk around 1 PMish and we plan to stay the entire night until 6 AM
Go back to our resort Sat morning, change, and head to HS at 8 AM
Stay at HS until 11 PM that night.
Go back to resort.
Sunday, breakfast at Kona at 8 AM
Epcot until Illuminations
After Illuminations drive back home!

Busy, busy, busy but we are young and all Disney fan-actics!! I am traveling with my Disneyettes!!! We are excited! 45 more days!!!!!

May 23rd is not only the last night of our week at Old Key West, it's also the eve of my 60th birthday. I'm looking forward to celebrating with as many members of my family as can keep up with me at midnight in the Magic Kingdom.

I think it's downright festive of the Disney folks to throw me such a great birthday celebration!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

We'll be there too for the 24 hour celebration, first trip without the kids (well, since they were born...it's been 10 years!)...I can't wait!!!!!

Our plan:

Leave ASM at 4am, to be at MK for opening.
9:00 KTTK Tour
2:15 BOG FP+

**This is the part of our plan where my DH and I disagree***
HIS choice: return to hotel for nap/rest after lunch
MY choice: stay at park for the entire 24 hours ;)

7:35 Dinner at The Crystal Palace

Then go where the mood strikes up. I'd LOVE to stay the entire 24 hours, but my DH isn't too sure he can make it.

We have no park plans for Saturday, but we do have two ADRs for lunch and dinner.

I am super excited!!!:banana::yay:

Hey, we will be at OKW as well :) May 23rd is our DD's 7th birthday so we are taking her on a surprise trip for the 24 hr day :cool1: Our plan is to pick her up from school and reveal the surprise as we will fly at 5pm on the 22nd. We'll get to MK for 5:30am on 5/23, but we won't make it 24 hrs with our birthday girl and her 3 yr old brother ;) Nevertheless, we're super excited and can't wait to see her face when she realizes she's going to WDW for her birthday :goodvibes

I'm so excited that others will be there celebrating their birthdays - mine is on May 23rd!
I told my husband how nice Disney was to extend the party when they heard I was coming :goodvibes

WOW! That is a jam packed plan. We are staying at POP too. Will you guys be in costumes? Hero's and Villains?

This trip is a gift for my wife's 40th birthday. She would have just turned 40 a the week before so we will he celebrating the entire 24hrs at MK.

So excited! Thinking about dressing up too.

I think your plan sounds good. I'm going to the 24-hour event too! Unfortunately, I have a family get-together on Saturday that I must attend. We're planning to drive down to POR Thursday afternoon after my sister gets off work and go to sleep early-ish that evening. Hoping to wake up around 4:30 and be at the MK around opening. Staying at the park until around noon, then heading back for nap/pool time (there will be a three year old with us!) until about 6, then back to the MK until around 11. We have to be leaving the hotel by 9am at the latest Saturday morning to make it to the family luncheon.

It'll be a busy few days, but we can sleep in Sunday morning! We had to miss the 24-hour event and the family get-together last year due to a wedding in south Florida, so I'm determined to fit them both in. Planning the FP+s for when we return in the evening with the guess that it'll be much busier then.

We are flying in for the event too. Coming in on Thursday and leaving Sunday.

I woulda loved to stay at Contempory but at a 1000 for those nights---- didnt seem reasonable.
so we too are staying at Pop booked through orbitz for 307 for the entire weekend
