All I know is that from the first time they put Ashley's brother on the screen I really thought that JP and him looked a lot alike! Maybe it's just me??

I noticed that, too. First thought was her DAD probably looked like him, too.

Future? FUTURE? I give it 45 days. But, they won't be able to announce their break up until the promos for the next Bachelor are out.

We need to take a "how long before this debacle blows up" poll!

Before we head off for other threads, I just wanted to say I had a great time on this thread because of YOU GALS! You gals are so funny. You made a really boring show fun to watch.

The couple was just on GMA. When asked about their plans & if they have a wedding date set, JP said: (something like)

Ashley has to finish school first.
Then she's moving to NYC
Then they will find an apt together
Then she has to get a job
So they aren't looking at getting married till the end of NEXT year.


That whole list was about waiting for her to grow UP!

New York should chew her up and spit her out. She'll last about an hour.

Naw. This one's so dull they had to do something.

It's due to the fact that Ashley's AFTR segment is so boring, they decided to pop in another show to keep interest up.

Did anyone notice the continuity error last night?

When JP proposes, he takes the ring box out. The next camera shot is a close up of the ring as the box is opened. The shot after is of him holding the box with ring inside up to her. In the close up shot, on the inside of the box it says 'Neil Lane'. But when the you see JP holding it up, the name is gone. Obviously they shot the close up either before or after the proposal. I wonder if it was even JP that was holding it for the close up.

Funny thing is when they re-broadcast it during the ATFR segment, when they had the close up, they blacked out the name.

One last thing. Someone mentioned they thought Deanna let Jason get down on one knee and propose too. Not quite. She did let him get down, but at least she stopped him before he made a complete donkey out of himself, and if I remember correctly, he kinda did it without warning too.

It was really nice that Ashley let Ben get down on one knee when it was sooooo obvious he was going there. And to let him ask her to marry him. OMG what a self-centered, narcissistic little girl. A guy will always remember when he asks a woman to marry him, and most guys want to only do it one time. Way to ruin that special moment for him Ashley.

Was that really JP's plane flying over Ben's boat as Ben was leaving? If so, don't ya think JP saw Ben being taken away and knew he was the one before he got there?

Poor Ben. That was awful to let him get on one knee and propose. He seems like a great guy and I hope he finds the perfect woman for himself. But I think it was kind of obvious that she was going to let him down when he walked up, she said "umm", and he said "wait, before you say anything..." I wonder if he knew and they set it all up for dramatic effect.

On the Men Tell All, did you notice how Ames got the most cheers from the audience? He needs to be the next bachelor. But even if he wasn't dating someone, they'd never put such a gentleman in that position. It would be too classy and not attract enough viewers.

that was my comment about Deanna. i didn't watch her season, but i watched Jason's season. so, i thought i had seen something about it on that. thank you for the clarification.

once it was obvious Ben was headed that way, Ashley should have interrupted him. she did not have to let him go through that.

Ashley does need to grow up. and if JP makes it with her, then he is more patient than most men. even in the ATFR, it was all "me! me! me!" with her.

on the previews for bachelor pad, it seems like Jake gets a lot of face time. i swear, i saw a clip of him with almost every girl there. lol! he's such a pig! you'd think all of the girls would know that by now!

I love love love Ames, however I disagree that he should be the next Bachelor. It seems like everytime we get a bachelor that we love and then he becomes The Bachelor that he goes to his head and he's ruined and no one likes him anymore, ie: Bob, Jake, Jason. Ames is such a gentleman and so smart hopefully he'll do OK on is own and not get ruined by the Bachelor Pad.

ATFR might be up at ABC.com.

I thought the plane was leaving to pick up J.P. That's why Ben couldn't just turn around & get on the plane again & leave. Why they shunted him to a boat to leave.


On ATFR, he said the trip back from Fiji was so LONG. I remember thinking the same thing for poor Chantal after Brad dumped her. Being such a crier, I thought she probably cried the whole plane trip back from So. Africa.

But I hated to see her running after him, trying to get him to make her feel better. She should have not let him propose, and she should have spoken to him not just stared. Then when he's floating away - it looks like that new game show "100 ways to leave a Game show" They float him past her.

Yeah, I thought that was in incredibly poor taste. About as tacky as the REO Speedwagon song. The last thing Ben wanted to see again at that time was Ashley. I bet they had to re-shoot it many times, too, to get all the angles right. So he probably had to float by her many times.

I am happy - I have said before I thought he was the one. Ben is too sensitive for her, and I think a little immature. If anyone has a chance to put up with her baby girlness, it is JP. I always thought Ben was in the "friend zone" and she had the passion with JP. It is hard to mix two different personalities, but usually you become a balanced couple, which is good for raising children, running a household, etc. I guess I speak from experience.

I really understand how he hasn't said alot -(at least what we see) but he wrote her a letter from the heart, expressing how he feels. My DH does that sometimes - he's the strong silent type. We've been married for 30 yrs and sometimes we are polar opposites - it keeps things interesting!

That is exactly what I was thinking. If she really loves him she would have assured him that she would be making up her own mind.

That sister was obnoxious. She judged him on a few minutes of conversation when she knew he was nervous. How would she have liked it if he assumed she was trash because she was covered in tattoos? Talk about being judgmental.

I don't like Ashley's sister. She has no compassion; she's a control freak. If she hasn't learned how to talk to her sister and be loving with her while making some observations...and she was hateful to JP, hateful. I see no capacity to love in her. What in the world happened to these two young women; one has no emotions and the other is pure emotion. Ashley is immature and needy. JP needs a woman who can assure him when he's under attack. She doesn't fill the bill. He should get on a plane and fly home, now.

Just got home. I have to go back & look at te JP segment.

OMG! She is trying SOOOOO hard to make her family, especially her sister, like Ben. "Ben, gt up & do your cute pet voice NOW!!!"

I did think the sister was jealous or really controlling at first. After watching the ATFR show, I have to say I think she was just protective because Ashley shows poor judgement - I mean she was So Sure about Brad and Bentley - how can she be so sure about JP? It does seem genuine to me, after the fact - more real than Ali and what's his name, for sure!

Ok, Ben was so relaxed when picking out the ring. JP looks like a wreck and said he's still guarded. And what, is Neil Lane a jewelry therapist? Can you imagine...JP tells Ashley that was planning to propose to her but after his session with the jeweler, he changed his mind?

Nothing like closing the sale!

I guess he's used to helping people who KNOW they really want a ring. . . until they get divorced and pick their second & third ring with him.

I think Ben's ring is kind of gaudy. I like JP's better. What kind of wedding band would go with that twisty band on Ben's ring?

I like the twisty ring, but I was wondering what kind of wedding ring would go with that - I think the show pays for the engagement ring, and then they have to buy the wedding ring. Maybe they can have "Neil Lane" design it for $150K!

I was wondering if the jeweler asked Ben the same question? JP's face just fell when he said, "what if she doesn't accept?"

Also - I'm sure the twisty ring was more $$$ maybe they took that one off the Table for JP cuz they knew he was the one?

i've just got to say that i'm glad he was real. i'm so tired of when they are all sugary and "it's okay" blah blah blah. he's at least honest and real about it.
