May 23, 2011 - The UNOFFICIAL "The Bachelorette" - NO SPOILERS, please!

You gals are so funny!!! :lmao: I watch the show more to read all your comments than for the show. :rotfl:

I KNOW! He's so sweet, but he could see he's boring her, and he just keeps on and on and on and on....like if he just talked faster and faster it would make a difference - then she just says, well, yah, you're going home. :rotfl2:

I've been thinking (too much  ) about this. It never made sense to me why the guys all hated Ryan. Why they would say things like, if she wants a guy like that, I don't know why I am here?   But, due to the editing, they NEVER explained what it was about Ryan they all hated. They made it seem like he was just Mr. Perky, an upbeat, enthusiastic guy. :yay: I thought maybe all the guys were jealous of him, since he got the First Impression rose, and kept getting them so easily. Of course, he'd be happy & upbeat about that. Next to J.P., he seemed like a front runner. :confused3

EXCEPT that J.P. did go on 3 one on one dates with Ashley, while Ryan never got even one. That never made sense to me. :confused3 I thought maybe the producers were saving him for later, to get past all the Bentley stuff and for Ashley to weed out all the boring guys first.

But, now I've been thinking, :scratchin I bet after Ryan got the First Impression rose, like the NEXT day, he showed to the producers, cast, crew, any little production assistant who walked by that he is a FANATIC, I mean a FANATIC about his environmentalism/solar power/water heater tanks, etc., to an UBER-FANATICAL degree!!! Like religious fanaticism. He doesn't talk about anything ELSE. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :faint: It was probably like, "Run for the hills!
flaminghead-runner.gif
Here comes Ryan to talk about solar water heaters again and how we all should have one, we could be heating water while we are away doing this show. . . " :scared:

The producers probably knew they would only get ONE shot out of him, so they saved him, to keep around, until finally, it was time for Ashley to get rid of him. They just KNEW he would go off about those water heaters the moment he got a chance to sit down & talk to her for any real, in depth conversation.

Oh, I completely agree! This thread is so much fun, despite a boring, robotic bachelorette this time around. If it weren't for this thread, I'd have stopped watching this season already.

I've been thinking (too much  ) about this. It never made sense to me why the guys all hated Ryan. Why they would say things like, if she wants a guy like that, I don't know why I am here?   But, due to the editing, they NEVER explained what it was about Ryan they all hated. After that first rose ceremony, I thought the same about Ryan. Definitely a front runner. Then he started talking more and well, let's just say I lost that loving feeling about him! He was picture perfect in all his answers, too perfect. Something seemed off about it and then the guys started in on him as well. I felt Ashley could say "Ryan, the world is about to implode and we're probably going to die" and his response would be another diatribe highlighting the benefits of solar energy...

EXCEPT that J.P. did go on 3 one on one dates with Ashley, while Ryan never got even one. That never made sense to me. :confused3 I thought maybe the producers were saving him for later, to get past all the Bentley stuff and for Ashley to weed out all the boring guys first.

I thought that was strange too. Like I said, I really thought he was a front runner at first. Now, not so much!

JP was so sour this episode! I thought Ashley only gave him the rose just to cheer him up.

:rotfl2: I can see it too! All of the deep discussions he had with the production crew...

The producers probably knew they would only get ONE shot out of him, so they saved him, to keep around, until finally, it was time for Ashley to get rid of him. They just KNEW he would go off about those water heaters the moment he got a chance to sit down & talk to her for any real, in depth conversation.

Again, totally possible. Ashley is looking for romance and Ryan is looking for alternate sources of energy. I think the worst part was just how utterly shocked he was when she sent him packing while still ON their date!

I think that's what makes him a fanatic. HE has NO clue other people don't want to talk about solar power all the time, (or even more than once :headache: ) and why it wouldn't be such a passion for them. :confused3

I was at a craft fair recently. For some reason they had some solar power energy booth there. A guy walked by and the guy at the booth asks, "Is your electricity solar powered?" The guy walking by says, "Sorry, I rent & live in an apartment building."

The guy JUMPS on him, "No, REALLY you should be thinking about converting to solar power!!!"

Dude, we get our power from our landlord, who gets it from power lines INSTALLED in the ground. We RENT. We can't change monumental building things like that.

My guess is that he is still scratching his head, even after watching this past episode!

:rotfl2: Sheesh, take a hint buddy! It sounds like those people in the mall who jump out at you to try their lotion, feel their aromatherapy neck wrap or get your eyebrows threaded. They're the ones with the carts in the middle of the mall and I always walk quickly with my eyes averted!

Get ready! It's Old Home Nite with the families! :clown: :hippie: pirate:

In the previews, all the guys have the look of someone who went to the farmers' market & found the pickings really slim. :(

Oh thank God Ashley admitted she really doesn't feel the romance between her & Ames yet. That hometown segment was so painful and BORING to watch.
sleep.gif
It was so OBVIOUS she doesn't really feel anything for him.

It was easier for her to hide she doesn't feel much for Constantine as his family did the whole Greek dance segment. She could hide under all the hoopla of the activity. Whereas with Ame's family, there was so much more talking, it's obvious there is no real spark there. :sad2:

Ben's only brought only ONE other girl home to meet his mother & family. . . Oooookaaaaay!

Umm. . . and he tells Ashley that they'd better like her or it is NOT going to work. . . Oooookaaaaay!

. . . Ben wasn't really emotional before, until his father died. . .

The mom even said, "I still have my power over him."
Uh, yeah, she's definitely a Matriarch.

. . . Ben, this is why you are still single.

JP is from LI!!! I am from LI!! I knew I liked him. But I can tell you right now his family is going to rip her apart if I know Lindenhurst.

Ok, now I know who Ben reminds me of...Ryan (from Trista and Ryan.) He's kind of soft spoken, intense and romantic. A little more awkward though than Ryan was. The chemistry is there.

Uh, Ben's sister is creeping me out! I don't know what it is, it's strange though. She says that she's the one who signed him up for the show and now she's acting like the Grand Inquistor regarding the process! She and his mom don't look like they're in any hurry to share Ben...:rolleyes1

His hometown date sounds more like a counseling session about his dad. Not that that's bad in any way but it makes me wonder if Ben is just now dealing with his death? The comments his mom made made were odd, like this was somehow the first time they were talking about or something.

I liked Constantine's date but it seemed like his family was almost too welcoming of Ashley. Does that sound weird? Probably. Still, they seem nice, just like My Big Fat Greek Wedding but instead of "Dancing Zorba's", its "Giorgio's"!

Ames, um, ya, it's just not there. He seems like such an intelligent fellow so it's kind of a shame he can't see there isn't anything between he and Ashley. But he speaks so eloquently! Still, it seems like they're friends and nothing more.

In EVERY single episode where Ashley is talking to J.P. and she is asking him really personal questions, and he is pouring his heart out to her, she is CHEWING on something.
She epitomizes this smiley --> popcorn::

Ugh, JP is too good for her. I really like his mom, she's acting like a normal mother, not one enamoured with the show or the process.

Ashley is so insecure so it's pretty ironic to see JP's mom grilling her!

LOL! That picture! Hilarious! He DOES look like a cross between Kirk Cameron and Doogie Howser! :rotfl:

Interesting that JP doesn't think he loves Ashley yet. Wonder what will come of that. I get the impression that he wants to be in love but he's just not (yet).

On his side only. I think she's going to pick J.P.

Yeah, I'm glad someone else saw that, too. Plus, wasn't their segment kind of SHORT?

She spent a long time with Constantine's family and they showed a lot of it. :confused3 I'm wondering if there was just a lot of silence & pauses going on that had to be edited out.

Yeah, he seemed like a young boy to me, still dealing with the loss of his dad. :sad1: Losing a parent is so hard to get over. Two years is not all that long. :(

. . . But, being that attached to his mom was not that good.

I thought that TOO!!! They made it look like there would be dancing every get together and it would be all fun & dancing. :confused3

Ditto! :thumbsup2

Ashley calling Ames "so unique" does not come off as a compliment. :confused3

aw I feel bad for Ames.

:rotfl2: I took that to mean unique = I'm just not that into you. Probably not the compliment he was looking for.

Did Ben get a hair cut? His sister probably did it for him. It looks awful though, waaaay too scraggly.

Ames looks totally confused! How sad! He looks completely shocked yet is able to give an eloquent good-bye. Ok, he looks pretty upset in the limo, poor guy.

I see Ben's family as being very protective. He went into a shell after his Dad's death and it seems like he's going thru the worse part of grieving... guilt.

I don't think he's ready for a relationship, yet, he definitely needs more grief counseling, which is sad. Been there, done that.

Liked Constantine's house. MAN, I've got to get out of Atlanta and find a house in the outskirts! That house was beautiful!

JP is still my favorite, he's just the cutest doll baby... loved him with hair at his Bar Mitzvah. I wonder if the religion thing ever came up with them?

Ames, poor Ames. :sad2: I personally LOVE geeks but he takes geekdom to another level. I think he WILL make someone a good husband, though.

He looked confused before she handed out the second rose.   Was he high on something? :confused3 All is reactions & reflexes seemed off. Ashley even took HIS arm and walked him out slowly like he would topple over if she wasn't holding him up. Then the way he opened the limo door, it was like he was going to put her in the limo. He was acting very odd. :confused3

Ames is such a sweetheart, she didn't deserve him, or Ryan, or...yeah, the list just goes on.

And the upcoming finale with her family/sister. Whoa.

My comments in red:

Yes, she seems more star struck with JP over Ben. But I don't know, something about JP seems off, on his end. He's such a cutie though, isn't he?

Ben's segment was short but maybe because it dealt more with his dad's death? I felt so bad for him, my heart just went out to him when he got choked up talking about it.

Constantine's family was a riot! Yes, I'm sure everyday is like that in their home...Greek line dancing with hundred dollar bills being thrown at you. Yup, um-hmm.

Poor Ames though. He seems so genuinely nice and it was a little painful to see his shocked face when she chose Constantine and not him.
