I am wondering when President's week is in the US as I have heard it is a zoo at Disney during that time. I am playing with May 22-29 dates... do you think that this would be a busy time and what are the chances I could get a deal on a value resort at the end of May?

Thank you for any suggestions and feedback... I really appreciate it.

We're planning to go during this same time frame, so I'm interested in hearing the responses as well. Memorial Day is May 31st, so I would assume the 29th would probably be crowded. We're planning to go May 21st - 28th.

Moderate crowds at the most at that time. It is a great time to visit.

I WILL be there May 15-29th. Presidents Day is Feb. We have winter vacation one week in Feb and Spring Vacation one week in April. Most colleges have spring break around March. School for the most part ends late May beginning of June.

Mid to late May should be a good time. All the school vacation time is over and summer vacation hasn't started yet.

I askd a poll question that may be of help to you in deciding if that time frame is a good time to go - as the previous poster noted ...all the schools vacations are over by the time you are going and schools have not let out for summer vacation yet. Here is a link to that poll to give you an idea of what percentage of kids are still in school at what time.

Actually, some of the schools have left out - that's why we're choosing to go that week. We get out May 21st, and we're in Florida. I don't know if that's an indication that alot of Florida schools get out early this year, which could affect the attendance.
In reality, even on the poll, the highest percentage gets out before May 27th, so that does make me a little nervous. We're used to very light crowds - we usually go in early February - so I'm not sure what we're in for this time.

Hi,

I've gone since May 2001 @ about this this timeframe. I'm going again from the 22nd to 25th of may. Its nice. Crowds are moderate and the weather isn't too hot. As you get closer to M-day through it can get crowded & warm up. Good luck!!! Have fun!!

Just curious - can you give me an example of a wait time? Like I said, we're used to NO crowds - I think the longest we have ever waited on anything was 10 minutes. Our first time at Fantasia, we got there an hour early and could have easily waited until 30 minutes prior. We usually only go for two days, although we are going for the whole week in May. But we do MK in one day - without rushing - and AK and MGM on the second day. We're staying for seven days this time, and I want to do one of the water parks while we're there.

We went in May last year and this year are going May 16-30th.

Crowds are definitely lower than summer and the temperature is warm. Max wait times on some of the more popular rides like Test Track were 45 minutes, but you can use fast pass. Single load rides like Dumbo are always a long wait after the first 1/2 hour, continuous load rides move along with maximum wait time or 15 minutes or less.

It rained several days, so I would bring some rain gear.

Thanks - that will work. We're a big fan of fast pass, but I was just concerned about how long we would be waiting on the other rides. We can handle those waits, but with a 2 and 6 year old, just wanted to make sure we weren't going to be in for a miserable week. They aren't the most patient kids in the world!!
