May 2022 - limited availability already?

Odd post, and I'm trying to be patient with all the changes coming all the time. But doing a search for rooms for a party of 8 (5 adults/3 kids) in May 2022 showed no DVC villas really except Riviera or SSR. Even when I dropped it to show a smaller party size, most DVC resorts did not come up...with any room type. Am I missing something? I am usually way later than now when I book, and wanted to look early due to the variety of 50th/reopening factors. But not even OKW or AKV showed ANYYTHING.

But, I am wondering if I really missed a window already? Or is it that I am usually already within the 7-month DVC window when I look to see what cash reservations might be there?

Are you looking for a cash rental? Because when I look at the availability calendar for one of the DVC rental sites, granted just looked at the first week of May, but still almost everything is green or at least “partial”

I also have looked on the rental sites and all are wide open! But looking at cash reservations through Disney shows nothing. I usually try to show the family the difference in price on the various levels to rent. I just find it super weird.

I think they don’t release them until farther down the road if I remember correctly. I too was trying to price out for my family in May 2022 for DVC and didn’t find much luck so just ended up renting points.
