Hello and welcome to my pre trip report!

My name is Paula and my DW is Jo. We are DVC members and deep Disney lovers! We also adore Florida in general trying to get across from the UK as often as possible

We live in Essex near London.

Here we are last October on a wonderful 4 night cruise on The Dream which featured a Halloween on the high seas theme! Me on right , Jo on left...I think you can work out which ones are characters I hope lol...

This is Huey our little shih tzu..

Our dates are 26th - 4th June 2014 catching a Star Wars weekend!

I am a big sci fi fan but my favourite is Star Wars especially the original three movies. I am so excited about the SWW! DW is the bread winner of our family for which I am very grateful.

I am medically retired due to multiple auto immune disease as such we are limited on what we can achieve but we still plan to enjoy it as much as we can! I do the planning as I have the time but we both have the passion. I give Jo updates when she gets home from work.

Here are our plans so far

Sunday 25th May - Drop off Shih Tzu Huey at friend and breeder of Huey for his own vacation which he enjoys as he gets to spend time with his sister Tiger Lily.
Drive to Gatwick airport to do twilight check in with Virgin Atlantic Drive to airport hotel for over night stay. We love this! No driving on morning of flight so my Jo can relax and the vacation starts right here! McDonalds dinner is our tradition followed by Jo enjoying an ice cold beer in the hotel and me a sprite.

Monday 26th May - Drive to airport and park at gatwick short stay valet parking disabled bay. Somebody then parks car for us and this is directly opposite our terminal so not far now! Grab some lunch at airport before boarding virgin VS15 13:00 flight to Orlando shaking with excitement! Land at 17:10 due to time difference. Approx 9 hour flight.

After clearing customs get the ME to All Stars Music for 2 nights. We had originally only planned to go for 7 nights ( thus the title 7 of 9 a combination of sci fi fan Star Trek Voyager and it's now 9 nights not 7 ) all at SSR our beloved home resort. But I had been very ill which has been extremely stressful so we decided to treat ourselves to an extra 2 nights. We adjusted our flights at minimum cost and as we had no more DVC points left as we are greedy enough to be coming back in September for 2 glorious weeks I booked the All Stars for a bargain price for 2 nights. Since I have upgraded to POR for a bargain price. Love this resort! Last stayed in Dixie Landings back in 2000. Stayed in FQ in 2008 loved that also.

26th - 28th May Port Orleans Riverside

28th - 3rd June SSR

SWW - 30th May - 1st June

3rd June fly home - :-(

Here is my thoughts so far based on previous years..

Friday - Arrive at HS 8:00 and hit the Darth Maul! Try and score limited edition merchandise if any left! Book FP+ for Star Tours. See parade at 11 am. See any shows.

Saturday - Rinse, Lather and Repeat Friday!

Sunday - HS PM.

Monday - Chef Mickey's Breakfast then HS pm.

Update

Excited to see new mug designs have arrived!

Also I have customised MBs pink for ASMu and blue for SSR. With names and dates on. As you now seem to get thousands of MB because of spilt stays etc Jo thought it a good idea to have 'resort colours'. So I thought what a great idea. We choose pink for All Stars and Blue for SSR. We always keep these colours at these resorts and just change the dates with the names written on the back. We just bought an add on for VGF which is going to be red! Staying there first time in October for my birthday treat

hello! Welcome! How nice of you to join me how wonderful re your cruise. We just adore DCL are you going DCL? Which ship? We have a 3 night on The Dream in September. Can't wait! No worrying about paying for soda drinks on the cruise lol.

I didn't realize you started at PTR. Im glad I got in on the first page! You changed your dates and are now leaving a day earlier. I hope we can meet up a few times and race our scooters!

I also loved your title. 7 of 9 was one of my favorite characters, besides having a really great uniform, she also had a very dry wit. I'm huge into Trek, possibly even more than Star Wars, but love them both!

Hi so glad you have joined my PTR! Yes lol re scooter race may the best woman win! I just loved Star Trek Voyager was my favourite of the Star Trek series and me too re 7 of 9! I did the Star Trek experience at The Hilton in Las Vegas that was great! love the borg and Captain Janeway too! I want to get married in Star Trek uniform but Jo just looks at me...

Quick update. I went to see my gastro consultant today he is pleased with my progress. I got put on a new med recently after being very poorly from Dec to Jan . This is for my inflammatory bowel disease. It seems to be really helping. He wants me to gain a stone ( 14 pounds ) just as a starter! Gulp can anybody lend any weight? Maybe a kitchen sink at B & C is in order in May!

So Jo and I celebrated the new drug at McDonalds. Yum. I got a lego movies cup ( Emmet ) in my happy meal. I can only eat small portions at a time so a happy meal is ideal

Later we managed to get the Toy Story dvd of the special Toy Story of Terror Disney did last Halloween. I was delighted because I missed it on ABC when it aired!

Update - Star Wars a New Hope

I have been using a very useful thread from a mom on the disboards who has attended the last 10 SWW. It is full of wonderful information and for that I am grateful! Thanks Mom!

Although the exact schedule and celebrities attending this year have yet to be announced the thread has given me insight into the format from previous years. We did attend a SWW many years ago but it was only one day and it wasn't well planned. I did the enjoy the atmosphere and the parade and the Storm Troopers on the roof

At christmas I had a Star Wars advent calendar which was great...

I got it from DTD lego shop in October last year. I do this every year it's my tradition as we tend to come over around the EPCOT F & W festival. I love that all December I enjoy a little piece of Star Wars and this time was even more special knowing we were coming to SWW!

So this is confirmed in my little touring plan so far..

We are attending the May 30th - June 1st 2014

I hope to bump scooters with Alison and Fran!

There should be a Symphony in the stars fireworks every night. I can't plan to see this because my health condition is such that it is unpredictable. So I will pencil it in for every night in the hope! But I haven't made MK fire works in 5 years so doesn't look hopeful :-(

We will watch the 11am parade -Legends of the force that starts from the hat stage on Saturday.

I am not bothered by autographs as queuing is a real issue for me being disabled. Unless for some magical reason Carrie Fisher is there then all bets are off. Jo is going queue for me.

I am very interested in merchandise! I carried a Yoda size soft Yoda toy back from Vegas in 2000. We got funny looks on the plane...The airline staff were a scream giving him his own seat and making him go through safety checks..

I saw the Hyperspace Hoopla online and wasn't impressed so am happy not to see this. More shopping time!

Re shows I do like these so see what they are when they are released. I am not keen on the clone wars though.

Of course my favourite ride Star Tours will be hopefully FP+ 60 days before for each day of the SWW. I also hope to get a DAS card I hope so might be able to use this but it is a new system to replace the DAC card with new rules so have to see how that works out! Folks have stated issues getting them so I won't take this for granted.

Heard a rumour on another thread that The Mine train will open May 3rd 2014 that means it will be open when we are there! I am so excited I am so looking forward to this ride I hope you can FP+ it!
