May 2014 7 of 9 - I am a little short for a Stormtrooper..

I love the shirt and the pants. Again, we were in the same park and missed each other. Drat! I need to get on top of my TR, but this darned move is keeping me busy!

Pam day Sunday

Today we woke at SSR knowing we would be meeting up with a very good friend Pam. So today was going to be special. We agreed to meet by the pool at 10:30 so Jo and I started our day with our usual routine. Chosen cereal of the day, chat about exciting plans, shower and change and head over to the artist palette. Today we enjoyed Mickey Waffles :-)

We sat by the Springs Pool and waiting for our beloved friend. Soon the time came and we all hugged and chatted away! We decided to have lunch at the Earl of Sandwich a favourite amongst as all.

After we chatted and enjoyed our sandwiches Pam and I headed to the shop that sells lovely soap. The name now escapes me... Pam wanted to get some for her lovely Mom back home. I stood outside because the smell triggers my migraines. Frustrating because all the soaps look amazing!

Sadly the weather on this day wasn't in our favour. The heavens opened and rained cats and dogs upon us! Jo kindly went to get the car as we decided an afternoon in AK would be fun. Pam and I huddled outside the soap shop in the rain. I said to Pam several times she should go into the shop to get out of the rain she was getting soaked out here with me! But she would not. Too kind!

Jo arrived and after a quick detour and look around world of Disney we got in the car and made our way to AK. We were hoping the rain would cease soon.

We arrived at AK and the rain was still playing with us but we decided to go anyway. It's a nice park and Pam suggested that we may see a different set of Animals on the safari in the rain. We got a DAS return for the safari at Guest services and started to make our way over. We were going to ride EE but I don't think the timings worked out this time.

The safari was amazing! Pam was right we did see different animals! I had camera issues so I didn't get any photos but Pam got some amazing shots of a Lion and Lioness on the hill, giraffe, hippos and many more! It was the most enjoyable safari we had done!

After the safari my legs decided they didn't want to work. I hadn't brought Jessie my scooter because of the rain but I wish I had! Jo and Pam scored a wheelchair from the CM at the safari and Jo pushed me back whilst Pam kindly took my rollator. Thanks Pam!

We looked around some more and had a pineapple dole whip from near the safari. But it wasn't called a dole whip. Confusing! I had previously tried an orange one and really disliked it in MK not understanding the hype but the pineapple was much nicer!

The park was lovely actually in the rain. The atmosphere like a rain forest. It was the perfect park for this day!

We left the park and decided to look around the VGF. Jo and I had recently done an add on here but had not seen the actual building. Our first stay will be September 2014.

Next up photos of VGF, and Olive Garden meal.

So we parked at the VGF and made our way inside the building. I knew from the plans and photos it was real pretty but nothing prepared me for the eye candy in real life!

I just adore this carousel horse. I recall this from Pam's TR

Sorry there isn't more I am pleased to say my camera situation is now resolved with the purchase of a nice new Nikon point and shoot :-) for my next WDW visit in September.

A guide kindly showed us around a room. It was so nice to see! One of the elements I was super impressed by was the elevators. I loved the brass colour. The resort is so bright and airy. I was pinching myself saying to Jo and Pam do we really own a piece of this magic?

I am so looking forward to staying on my birthday later this year!

We went back to the resort after a look at the main pool. We all quickly showered and then it was time to score some food!

That evening Jo drove us to the lovely Olive Garden. We all had a wonderful meal and the kind server took this photo of us...

It's a day and evening I will treasure for a long time. It was lovely spending that time with Pam.

We went back to the resort and agreed to meet in the morning. We had a date with a special Mouse Chef at the contemporary resort! Next up Chef Mickey's & MK!

Love the OG (that's what we former Olive Garden servers call it) and I can tell you they are meticulous about a clean kitchen. :thumbsup2

Fun meet girls! Isn't Pam the best?! :grouphug:
