Well, this is the first time Ive ever done one of these pre-trip reports, and quite honestly the first time Ive ever had a reason for doing one. Ill try to keep up with it as much as I can, however, I am a university student and finding time can be sort of challenging sometimes.
First, this trip is my first to Walt Disney World and my first out of Canada (with the exception of Washington State) since about the age of 8. I am not 23 (24 by the time our trip in May comes about), so the itch to get away is a strong one. This all started out as a discussion with a vague idea that some of us wanted to go to Disney World in May or sometime in the spring. This conversation started in September and quickly died out and was forgotten about. Well, we started talking about it again earlier this month and from the time we started looking at prices to the time we booked our flights was only about 10 days haha. We are heading down from May 14th to May 27th, So a nice little two week trip.
Theres going to be three of us going down, all three of us are males (24 [Me], 23, 23). Yeaaa, Three mid-20 year old guys running around Disney World haha. As mentioned this will be my first trip to WDW as well as one of the other guys. But this will be Dave's fourth trip down, so he's going to be stuck on partial tour guide duty.
We will be saddling up around 2am and heading out of town from just outside Vancouver, BC, Canada and heading for the border. We had planned to flight out of Vancouver and head down that way, but we found a more viable and affordable option driving to Bellingham and flying out from there (Its much, much easier to clear customs at the border than it is at the airport as well). Our flight is at 5am Pacific from Bellingham and landing in Seattle. In Seattle well have to deal with a 3 hour lay over before we board again and head straight to Orlando from there. We get in around 5:15pm, which should put us at the hotel between 6 and 6:30pm. We had originally booked a room at the All-Star Sports, but after hearing amazing things about Pop Century, We switched hotel s to Pop Century. Were basically going to spend the night getting checked in and acquainted with the hotel and maybe head to Downtown Disney for dinner and check out Disney Quest, or maybe spend some time at the pool.
We dont have an exact time table for our parks yet as we didnt want to plan the entire thing because we wanted to allow for some spontaneous moments while there. The first day is going to be spent at Hollywood Studio in the morning. The only thing planned for the morning, no meals or anything like that. Were most likely just going to grab something quick in the park. We opted for the Park Hopper and Water Park Plus packages, so were going to be jumping parks pretty much daily. Afternoon this day will be spent at the Magic Kingdom. We also have made reservations for Chef Mickeys for dinner.
Thats really the only day we have planned as a guaranteed schedule. We have a rough schedule in place for most of the trip but nothing absolutely set in stone. We also have two days planned for visiting Universal Studios. We are renting a car from Enterprise on May 18th and heading to the car May 18th and 19th. We are also planning to head to Hooters for dinner on the 18th after Universal (We are two mid-20s guys after all lol).
Weve only made reservations for four places so far, were pretty much gonna let rest of the trip unfold on its own.
May 15th Chef Mickey (dinner)
May 20th Teppan Edo (dinner)
May 23rd Sci-Fi Dine-Inn (dinner)
May 24th Boma (dinner)
And like I said we also plan to head to Hooters as well as ESPN, House of Blues, etc. We have also been looking into the possibility of visiting the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Board Walk.
Well, thats about it for now. Ill make sure to update as I can.
