May 2010 Pre-Trip Report--Bay Lake Tower, here we come! *TR link posted! 6/8*

The entire school is praying that we get a snow day on Wednesday! I could really use the break! I caught up on so much grading over the weekend because of the snow, but I would really appreciate another day! We haven't had one yet this year; last year we had 4, I think. I wonder if students realize how much teachers really want snow days too!

I hope you get a snow day, too! :goodvibes My MIL is a teacher and she is always wanting snow days, too...she'll do snow dances with the kids!

Here are a few pictures from today:

I don't think it has snowed like this in about 20 years!:scared1: And boy that makes me feel old to type that. 20 years! Where has the time gone?

OMG! Where do you live, Alaska? I'm so jealous. We love snow here in the south.

Haha, I thought the Hidden Mickey comment was for the picture below it, so I was searching in there before I realized you meant the snowman pic! Funny thing is, I do believe I see a partial naturally occurring Hidden Mickey at the center of the tree!

Considering how the snow's falling (we have at least 4-5 inches so far and the worst is yet to come), I'm hoping to get another snow day tomorrow! Who's going to wake up early tomorrow to shovel before going to work?!?

I am super jealous of you all for having snow days.:( We did not even have a delay today! We got about 6 inches last night and another 4 today. That's what I get for living in the snow belt...Oh, well, we don't have any snow days built into the school year this year anyways. Last time we had a snow day...4 years ago...they tacked on a day at the end of the school year!

Stay warm everyone! Enjoy your snow days!

Hehe found it!! :rotfl:

Yay! We had fun making them all! I can't believe Mickey's ears are still attached as of today. :goodvibes

Wow! Round two looks deeper than round 1! Great pics. Spotted the hidden Mickey...cute idea! :thumbsup2

Round 2 was much deeper. It was also much better for snowmen! Thanks~he was pretty easy to make, too! :)

YAY FOR SNOW DAYS! I could use a day off right now. I hope yall had fun.

Yup, yay for snow days! Kids were out of school Mon, Tues, & Wed. They had Valentines Parties today, so they probably didn't do much work at all this week. But you know they were excited about that! ;)

Girl, it has been feeling like it lately! We're not used to it at all. It's funny how it just shuts down so many things around here. But I like it that way! :rotfl:

 I searched the other picture and think I see what you did...it's a Mickey head with an ear on the left? It almost felt like one of those magic eye pictures to look at it. I'm thinking we should have shoveled our driveway, but we don't even own a snow shovel!

Wow! Here's how unusual snow is around here: We only have 1 snow day built in to our calendar. It's actually a scheduled mid-winter break. It was scheduled for Monday, but we're in school then, now. Plus I think they've added 3 more days to the end of the year. That puts their last day of school on our check-in day. Guess who's missing the last 2 days of school?

Hope you have a nice weekend. Your 100 day mark is fast approaching isn't it?

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

My 100 day mark is fast approaching! I'm trying not to look at the ticker in fear that looking will slow it down! :rotfl:

Thanks for the nice weekend wishes. We've got Luke's 8th birthday party tomorrow at the roller skating rink, just after his basketball game. Allison has a friend over right now, they're singing 'Disney Sing It' right now on the Wii and having a great time! We're watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics & DISing! Sunday we're going to my Grandma's for some yummy yummy Gumbo! Sounds like a good weekend to me! I hope yours is nice, too! :goodvibes

So what did you think of the Opening Ceremony?

So what did you think of the Opening Ceremony?

I thought it was really neat! I loved how all the different cultural groups came out in full dress. I also really like the part where it looked like whales were swimming across. It was too bad that all 4 pillars didn't raise up at the end, for the torch lighting. I think the woman whose pillar didn't raise should have just walked over to someone else's and helped them light it! I haven't always watched the Opening Ceremonies, but are they just getting bigger and bigger? I don't remember them being such a big deal, say 10 years ago? Either that, or I just wasn't interested then...

A little late, but I am joining in. Your trip title caught my attention, since we are also going in May. There will be A LOT of us DISers there! :woohoo:

YAY! :cheer2: for your 100 day mark!

I LOVED those whales! That's the part that I remember the most. It does stink about the torch not working right. Steve Nash and Wayne Gretzky sure looked kinda nervous when it wasn't working! I think they are getting bigger...especially after the Beijing one. That was really cool.

YAY for 100 days! Less than that now!
