Looking at flying from Glasgow - Sandford for 2 weeks staying a homewood suites on I Drive (no car). Cheapest quote so far is £3673 for 4 adults and 1 child (2 rooms in homewood suites). Does this sound reasonable?

I think it falls in between Gail, I don't think it's a bargain but it's also not very expensive either.

I would have expected it to be slightly cheaper than that as you are not renting a car, and although this hotel gets good reviews on TripAdvisor it is just 3 star. So I would have expected it to be a little less than you are paying.

Are you prepared to get last minute deal?
I got tickets for £195 for adult
£135 for children this May
It was flight only. But two weeks in villa would be £1,000
Brings it to £2000 for your party

Just sounds a bit much to me,

Lynn

I think that minnie29uk may be onto something... with 5 of you going (two couples and a child), if one of you is happy to drive out there, a villa could be a better option: more space and more freedom (your own kitchen and maybe your own pool) and probably less cost for the 5 of you...

You could look at fly-drive + villa packages with the big tour operators. You could also look at getting a fly drive package (with a tour operator) and booking a villa indiependently (try sites like http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/florida/central-disney-orlando ). You could also try looking at the cost of booking flights (scheduled with expedia or airline-network.co.uk or charter flights with the various charter operators), renting a villa independently and renting a car independently too (from sites like http://holidayautos.co.uk/ or direct from companies like Budget or Alamo)...

Just a few thoughts - good luck with it :)

Just looked at travel city direct, cannot get flight from Glasgow as no availability but flying from Manchester on 5th May, a 3 bedroom villa near Disney and a full size car comes out at £3313 for 4 adults and one child. This should give you an idea on how reasonable your quote is.
Having said that Homewood suites is fantastic with the free drinks and Snacks Monday to Thursday and the free hot breakfasts.
Just found another one £3159 if staying at 3 bedroom town house at regal palms.
I have stayed there and it is excellent, Nice pool complex and Club. Situated on Highway 27, 20 mins from Disney

Thanks for all the replies. I could have got a cheaper quote if we were prepared to fly from Manchester but Glasgow is so much easier for us.
Flights are with Direct Holidays (no difference between flight only and fly drive price!!!) and have booked Homewood Suites via Alpha Rooms. The flights are the expensive part about £450 each. Also in the price I gave I have costed for a limo for transfers from/to the airport.

We don't want to hire a car so that is why we haven't gone the villa route.

Thanks again. :thumbsup2
