May 2, 2009~~~Magical MAYniacs!~~~ 7 day Western....Updated, April 3,2009!!

Ashlotte sent me her reply:

I personally liked the name Magical Maytees best. I am hoping to do fish extenders. As for a meet time, maybe 2:30 to make sure people have a chance to get settled (I am always running late!)

Toribelle: Sorry, I forgot to ask you if you would mind continuing the tally til the 4th? :goodvibes

Hello! I haven't been posted in a really long time (like since the first page), but I wanted to say hello to all the people that have posted since and are coming on our cruise.
I also noticed a lot of people from Oregon on the list (anyone else bringing 3 and/or 5 year olds?). I was wondering if anyone had bought plane tickets yet? I will be flying out of PDX and checked airfare today (we'd be using frequent flier miles for two of our four tickets, so I wanted to book early). The tickets were $789 per person one way! I know in the past is was $200-$300 to fly to Orlando, which I know was too cheap and they have now adjusted for the airfuel, but that still seemed like a lot to me.

My son will be 3 at the time of the cruise :thumbsup2 His B-day is in September but yes there will be another 3 year old on board ;)

I just read that a lot of airlines are starting to run big sales because no one is buying those high priced tickets. It might be a good idea to start watching the fares and if they drop at all: grab 'em!:)

Hey everyone, looks like for now May 2nd is still a 'go' for us next year.

Does anyone else have a DD that will be close to 7 at the time of sailing? I was just curious...

Welcome back Tutor! I hope you join us; if not, I'm sure you'll choose a vacation that will be just as fun. Are you still planning on a luau birthday?

My DD will be 6 at the time of cruising. Like some others have expressed, I think she is currently a 'young' 5. My DS is an 'old' 8 - but he gets along with both older and younger kids. :3dglasses

I love it too...

PS: You're images are coming thru with an extra [/img] at the end. No biggie! That's the end tag for an image, so there's one too many. See - you're becoming an expert in HTML already. :rotfl:

We haven't purchased our tickets yet either, we will fly out of Buffalo on Southwest, those flights won't be out until the end of this year (around Nov I think) $789 per person :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I would wait til something WAY better comes along, afterall, can't get any worse than that!

I thought I'd clarify just before you tally it up. :cool1:

Thanks for keeping me straight. LOL - last cruise I think I pissed someone off when I entered their age wrong. DOH! So I learned my lesson: if you're going to enter an age, don't screw it up. :lmao:

Hiya :goodvibes

Sorry I've been gone for so long. My little boy keeps things interesting since he decided to start teething at 4 months.

I vote for Magical MAYniacs :wizard:

As for airfare we will be flying out of PDX as well but we are having DCL book our air. I think it came out to be $500 or so per person when we booked so I guess we may have lucked out on that one. We will be flying in the day before and staying at the hotel in the airport (can't remember the name right now...momnesia :rotfl2: )

As for fish extenders: I did this on our Repo cruise. I made up little gift bags with items I bought from Oriental Trading. It was very time consuming so I think I will be going much more simple this time. I'm not sure if any of our other cabins will be participating or not so for now our total is 3.

As for the meet I'm kind of a quiet crusier. I like to lurk and pass out the fishey gifts. Of the three meets I was supposed to go to on the Repo I only made the sailaway. It's nothing personal it's just the way I am. Now my DH is very social...sometimes I'm amazed we found each other.

I'll try to post more often. It looks like we are going to have a great group!!

Maybe it's an Oregonian thing because we sound very much alike!:cool2:

We are joining this cruise as well. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary (actually 9/26 but hate cruising in Sept.) and plan on doing a vow renewal (if we are lucky enough to get an open spot).

Looking forward to "meeting" you all :thumbsup2

Hi DisneyDreamer,
I am going through the old messages that I haven't read yet and I noticed that you and I are in a similar situation. We are cruising to celebrate our 10-year as well and are also a September anniversary avoiding hurricane season (our anniversary is September 11th). I was looking into vow renewals, but then I was thinking maybe I could make a friend on the cruise that might do a renewal for me and I for them to save myself $1000 or whatever it costs.... I just wanted to throw that option out there for you. We would be happy to do a renewal for you if you wanted to do one for us. My husband is actually ordained on the internet and has performed five weddings for our friends. Just an idea.

Hi Rebecca- Welcome, or should I say Welcome back. I will be doing my first ever fish extender Exchange on our cruise in October that i am going on...I am going all out :rolleyes1 probably should have taken it a lot easier than what all I am doing and going thru but Its new and I think we live and learn :rotfl: Im not saying that I wont make the same mistake twice LOL but I am one that seems to go to extremes when doing something like that

I havent ever done a meet either, Something that will be new to me on my upcoming cruise (before this one) and so I am not sure how It will go for me since I am VERY shy in person, now behind the computer I can talk like theres no tomorrow :rolleyes1 But in person :scared: So I am not sure I will be doing all of their meets, maybe one but I will have to see. They know that I am very shy and introverted, but I have heard that Disney people are the best kind of people

Oops I guess we posted around the same time :rotfl2:

Im another one celebrating 10 years...our anniversary is June 5th, so we are celebrating early. Thats cool that there will be a few of us on board all celebrating 10 years of marriage!

It will be our 12th year of marriage on April 12th, 2009 but we met in May 1989, so we are celebrating 20 years together. Boy how time flies when you are having fun. We wanted to do a renewal ceremony on our 10th but now we decided to do it on our 15th, hopefully we will be in Italy for that one.

Hey there! Welcome back...:lmao: Guess some of my pm's are working! Just to clarify, we are only going to do one meet and I would dare to say that it will not take up much time, I would say that it would probably be 1/2 hour at the most. Then if people want to stick around or meet up again with people, that is totally up to them. It is more of a ....."hi" and , so this is the person I have been talking with for the past year :thumbsup2 At least then when you pass them in the halls or on deck etc., you will be able to say hi! :cool1: If it is not your cup of tea, no biggie, still take part here with us please, oh and the fish extenders!!!

Hey Toribelle,

I was looking at your Disney history and your's and mine are very similar. My first WDW trip was in 1977 with my parents. We stayed at the Grosvenor in what is now DTD. Then I went with DH in 1994 with his family. After that, though, we took time off while DH was in graduate school and didn't take another trip until 2001. Since then: 2005 - WDW, 2006 - DL, 2007 - WDW, 2008 - DL. Settling out west means that it's cheaper for us to go to DL, but my heart belongs to WDW.

Congratulations on the anniversary, too. I've been trying to persuade DH to go on a Disneycruise for our upcoming 15th (in 2011), but even though he loves WDW and DL, he's "cruise-phobic" (his words). So for now, I'm just going with my DD and DB(est)F, both Disney-aholics, just like me.:thumbsup2

Good morning Magical Mayniacs
