We arrived at the terminal around 11 and check in was quick and we boarded soon after. Our stateroom was 2612 and had a bit of engine noise but it really didn't bother us.

The only issues that we had with the cruise was that our bathroom had this terrible smell on the 4rd night. We complained and the only thing that was done was to cover the smell up with air freshner. The next morning the bathroom was flooded with some pretty gross stuff. :sad2: On board the head guest services guy got kinda of nasty and with an attitude said, "What do you want from us, your money back?" We said no, we have enjoyed everything else. He then said that he couldn't give it to us anyway because it would have to be handled on shore. He offered to change our cabin to one down the hall, but our host had told us that other cabins were also having the same issues. We will be writing a letter to complain about how this situation was handled. I wonder if most people demand their money back and that is why he had the attitude because he expected for us to get demanding??

The kids, ages 4 and 5, had great time. They said it was better than WDW! And we only saw them at dinner, as they loved the kids club. On the first and second day I was ready to get off the ship because I didn't find it terribly exciting, but it grew on me.

Our dining staff and room host were great. I ran into our server who was washing windows one day and he took time out to play with the girls. On the first night, our 5 year old whispered to the server. To our surprise, the next evening Daddy was surprised with a cake for his birhday! :bday: To listen to a 5YO and help them plan a surprise was awesome!

Pirates night was lots of fun. pirate: The girls and I had made pirates outfits prior to the trip and had fun dressing up. However, I quickly learned that hanging out to watch the pirates activities (we were on deck 10 directly facing the stage as we found it too loud on the sides) is just like waiting for a parade. People will push you out of the way to get a good spot regardless of how long you have been there.

DH did buy a Passport book, big waste of money. We thought it would save us on an anticpated jewelry purpose (DH upgraded the ring  ) but the shop refused to take the coupon saying that they had already discounted it too much!!!!!

We cancelled our Palo ressies as we had it on the last night and this was AP night. We didn't get to see the show the first night due to pirates night. The light show was less than what I expected. But, it wasn't bad.

We only spent a couple of hours on Castaway Cay and let the girls hang out at the pool afterward then we walked around the ship and took lots of pictures since there weer not many people on it.

I was disappointed that other passengers didn't dress up for dinner. I felt that they should at least follow the suggestions such as on semi-formal night no shorts or jeans, and on the other nights, except pirates night, no shorts. But there were tennis shoes and shorts everywhere. Oh well, to each is his own, I personally would have felt uncomfortable being so dressed down.

All in all we had a good time and will probably go again in a few years. We are going to check other cruise lines out as well, but I suspect that we will end up back with Disney. :earboy2: We may take a 3 day next time as 4 was a bit long for our family and I don't think that we could handle 7. The biggest mistake that we made was going to WDW for 2 days afterward. We were exhausted from staying up so late each night and getting up so early. We decided that next time, we will go home the same day.

Let me know if you have any questions!

FreeTime,

You don't know how much I agree with what you said about going back to WDW afterward let me tell you.

We were on the May 8th sailing and were at WDW for 3 nights prior and everything was great and we were so relaxed. I added 3 more nights/4 days after the cruise because so many people told me how relaxed I would be afterwards . . . . .

NOT!!

To me it was more work on the ship than at WDW where I can pace myself. First of all I wanted to get off at Nassau for our Dolphin swim and to see Atlantis and shop a bit which was exhausting and then CC we were there all day. I felt like I was rushing most of the time to make it to the shows and dinner only and didn't get a chance to do anything like Bingo, the rainforest or even play ping pong. My dd didn't like the lab either so that definitely added to my not being relaxed b/c I rain around trying to get her situated. She did meet some friends and enjoyed running around with them, but I wasn't comfortable just letting her go off for extended periods of time. It was still fun but not at all relaxing and when we got back to WDW my ankles were swollen (although it started on Monday in Nassau) but they hurt so much because they were so swollen that there was no bend in the ankle and my shins took the brunt Ouch. Then the next day, my dd got sick and had a stomach virus for 2 to 3 days. So out of the 4 days we added, we made the best out of 2 and the other 2 well I'm sure you can imagine. We were both sick and homesick at the same time especially my dd. I should never have added the extra days but live and learn.

Oh I would definitely be writing someone about the comments made to you and the way you were treated. Good Luck!

I guess I am in the minority here about this. We just came back from the 5/8 wonder and I found that, for us, it worked very well booking WDW for after the cruise. I found it helped to lessen all of our depression about having to get off of the ship, becasue we were looking forward to going to WDW.

But than again....we travel to WDW atleast once or twice a year. So we knew that we were just going to do our favorite rides and attractions. We never go commando at the parks anymore, since we visit so often. I found the WDW portion of our trip to be more relaxing that the cruise itself becasue we would leisurly go to a park for a few things, than head back to Wildreness Lodge Villas (our favorite) to hang out at the pool, etc.

Hi Bobbi - I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet on our cruise after talking for so long on the boards but what can ya do right?

Yes to me the parks were are more relaxing because you can do them at your own pace. Before we left for the cruise we were very relaxed and didn't rush either. For example, when we went into Magic Kingdom and the spectromagic began my dd said let's skip it b/c we saw the parade so many times before and walked on every ride without waiting. I was just too tired after the cruise to enjoy the things I didn't do before hand. Oh well live and learn for next time.

We actually hung out at the pool at the Boardwalk on Thursday and then hit the PARKS on Friday. This is where the problem came in. Let me stress the word PARKS again. I wanted to just hang out at the MK. DH always likes to go, go, go even though we have been to WDW many times. So on Friday we did early entry at MK and did everything in Fantasy Land, then went and rode Splash and Thunder. DH then wanted to head back to the BW for lunch because he felt we needed a break. Then he drug us over to Epcot to do Soarin', Figment, and Test Track. Our just turned 4 year old had been begging to do ToT since she is finally tall enough. Guess where we went next? And while we were there DH had to see the new stunt show. Whew! I get worn out again just thinking about it. Then at 4:30am on Saturday our smoke detector went off! I told DH tonight that I am now officially burned out on WDW and that he needs to get ready for another cruise. Hopefully we will relax next time. We are thinking of trying Royal Carribean.

Freetime, I was laughing while reading your post here :rotfl2: Wow you did do the PARKS didn't ya? Sounds like what I did to myself the day we got off the ship on Thursday. I was my own worst enemy b/c I was determined to go to Epcot and back to the hotel and then back to Epcot again regardless of pain and swelling in my ankles. I was sooo disappointed because I had planned our return trip thinking we'd do everything we wanted to which we ended up doing primarily although we couldn't enjoy ourselves fully b/c we both were under the weather. Well there is always another time without cruising first for sure.
