May 13, 2007 EARLY Roll Call… 5/13/2007 4-Night Wonder

the same with us we are looking at a 7 night in oct/08. just want to make sure next time we go we have some money saved so we can book on board next time to save some more money, and then hopefully on one of the new ships the next time after that. i guess we are hooked on disney cruises.

SkyW...you asked about the parks. My kids loved them and did very well. We would do it again. They only thing is we would like to do just the cruise next time. Since we are talking a 7 night. We will see what happens in the next year.

Deb....
We too are looking forward to going again. We are so ready to hit the seas. I guess it will give us something to look forward too.

We are back, finally (not that I wanted it to be over!)
It was a long trip, but a good one none the less. I was just chatting at work today about the fact that I lost track of what day of the week it was by the second day on vacation. I consider that to be a mark of a great vacation!!

The cruise bug caught us bad, and we ended up placing a deposit while onboard for our very first 7-night cruise!! We are booked right now for Oct 08' but very much plan on flipping to May 09’ or Oct 09'. Anyone care to join us so we can get a new thread started?? :surfweb:

Please accept my apologies for not showing at the meet. Dylan ended up being a real handful the first day... maybe I should say the majority of the cruise! He just wanted to chase Donald Duck around the ship and go in the pool non-stop! I also wanted to apologize to whoever it was that Dylan shuttled a fork at during dinner, if she happened to read this thread. Needless to say he ended up in the nursery during dinner the remaining nights!

I ran into a family while we were sitting in the port waiting to board who managed to guess I was the one on this thread. I can’t recall her board name though but she did say she was lurking on our wonderful thread!

Thanks for the name tag Grumpy-Gramps, much appreciated!!!

Glad you got home safe. Sounds like your family had a wonderful time. We are with you with booking another one. But we asked on the boat about the new ships. And got some info but not much. We want to try to book on the new ship for 2011. And in the mean time see some other things. We are looking forward to going again but money says we have to wait 2 years and I really want the new ship.

:confused3 Hi,
Were losing it, this should put us on the first page..
One cruise down and one to go...
Have a great weekend,
gg

Grumpy-gramps... just pack all of us up and take us on your next cruise!

Mickey4- I imagine the DCL cruise bug will get you before the new boats open for booking! We had planned on waiting for those also, but just couldnt resist booking onboard for a flip to an 2009 sailing!

Scottie- I thought I saw you too at the port. What time did you get there? I saw a man chasing a toddler. I didn't see anyone that looked like a MIL so I didn't introduce myself.

I have review going right now. If anyone wants to add to it.....

Skyw- We were there around 10:15/10:30. And yes, I was the one who made frequent attempts to chase Dylan down before he made it to the elevator!!

Then I think I saw you. I was there at the same time. Boarding pass #3. My son and I had matching striped pants and white t-shirts.

SKYW....I think I had a Skyw....sighting. Yes at the last day in line for breakfest. Your son had a sitch toy and you had on tan capri pants. You were sitting on the floor up against the wall. I am I right.

We were 1st in line. I had the two little boys with me that were running around. I was thinking it was you but did not want to say something because what if it wasn't. My son's we driving me nuts. I had the stroller with all the carry on bags. Hugh...the joy of traveling with kids. They had the stuff animals.

Scottie...
Well we have to wait. We can only afford to do big trips like every 4 years or so. Because of the building you do not know what you are going to make. We are planning to start a DCL fund and put money down in 09. And then cruise on one of the new ship. We really want to do a 7 night. So we are looking forward to doing this again. And we normally have to 18 months after booking which does go by fast once you start the planning.

:surfweb: Hi all,
need to get back to the first page have a great weekend.
gg

mickey4- I remember you. You did have alot of stuff. We were pretty tired that morning. Luke didn't sleep well and finally feel asleep around 530 and we had to get up around 6am.

I think we are going to Disney in Oct/Nov to do the Not so scary mickey halloween. Or whatever it is called. I am trying to get a good discount. I am thinking of joining AAA. SInce the military built there new large hotel, it is hard to get overflow rates at disney hotels. That is how I have always got away with a cheap trip. Usually it was 40% off of the rates Disney quotes. But I think I may have to find another way to get things cheap.:)

mickey4- I hear you on the savings for these trips! I am going to figure out a monthly payment plan for our next one this week.

We were delighted to hear that we may have my parents, one of my sisters and her husband, along with one of my aunts and cousins also cruising with us in 09'! That is in additon to my kids and wife and the MIL! Should be a blast if they all really decide to come along.

Skyw- we tried to snag some tickets on the new Skybus from Columbus in Dec to do the xmas party again this year at WDW, but the cheap seats are already gone. I am planning on creating a in-between-cruises trip to WDW for next Oct to do the Halloween party. Our kids (and us adults) love doing the parties at night in the Magic Kingdom!

I was under the impression military really enjoyed staying at Shades of Green, what do you see as a down side to that hotel, if any?

The shades if green in really nice but......you have to go to the transportation center to catch a bus. So add an extra 15-20 minutes to get to the parks. Plus since we are a CW3 and a retired CW3, we pay up to $250 for a suite. A regular room is about $90-130. If you are a private..it is a really good deal. The rooms are way less. Sometimes as low as $60 a night. So we would rather stay at the cabins for $180-220 a night with the discount.

We are planning an OCt or Nov vacation too. We want to do the night stuff too.

grumpy-gramps- Did you book your next cruise as some sort of family reunion package? Wasn’t sure if they offered such a package for the cruise. We will likely be traveling with more family and wanted to add something if DCL offered it.

Skyw- I was always curious on the whole Shades thing so thanks for the info!
