Shelly - Sorry your baby is sick. Just a little FYI my kids never say their throat hurts when they have strep (not that your child has it.) They run fever (over 100) and say their stomach hurts and maybe their head. Chris has vomited with strep and I think it is from the fever. Hope he feels better soon.
:)

Well, I just checked Delta flights for the fun of it. $169.50 each way. That is on the direct flight which I love. I just think $99 one way flights may be a thing of the past for me!
Is that the closet airport that you are looking at..... so far my trip seems as if i'll fly out of JFK airport and land in Newark airport total $717.00 if i go and come from Newark is 836.00 so i'll be saving 100. that is through jetblue direct flights. we'll see what happens....good luck on your flight search...

Hey everyone!

DMM - Sounds like you are going to have blast with the WDW trip and the cruise! Can't wait to hear your reports.

Shelly - Hope your son feels better soon - until then, To Infinity and Beyond!

Mari - How are you doing today?

NC - Good morning!

Jo - DISNEYLAND! :yay:

I'm great thanks Sea... i hear you are going to have a visitor in ur neck of the woods. Our Jo. I hope her dates land on times that you guys can meet up in DL. you seem to know the in's and out's of DL.

Thanks NewCrew! I sure hope it's not strep. The high fever really concerns me though. I guess I'll wait and see what happens tonight. I may have to call the doctor tomorrow.

Have fun looking for flights! Does this mean that a WDW trip is in your future??? :wizard:

 I'm going to DisneyLand!

Hahahahahaha, Seacrest.:rotfl: :cool1:

You are going to get so sick of questions in the coming months. I am really beside myself at this point.

Dh hasn't gotten dates yet for the trip. It's early May, though. The 9th or so? He will go out before me or either we will come out together before his meeting. Then I will leave. I won't stay while he is in the conference. The kids won't be coming either.
also, I am thinking we will only be there for about 4-5 days or so because he has to save up vacation time for the trip in October.

Right now due to money constraints I am thinking we will use Mariott points (he is Platinum) to stay somewhere close, instead of onsite. It is still up in the air. I have a few written down that I am going to check on. Maybe you could tell me if they are in an okay area or if one is better than another.

The ones I have so far are:

Courtyard Mariott on South Harbor Blvd (2 blocks from DL)
Mariott Anaheim Hotel on Convention way (2 blocks from DL)
Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate on S. Clementine (1/2 mile from DL)
Residence Inn Anaheim Resort on Harbor Blvd (1 mile from DL)
Mariott anaheim Suites on Harbor Blvd. (this is 1 mile from DL)

How many days do you suggest for inside the park? I don't think we want to do any other theme parks, but some sight seeing and the main places would be good. Also, will it be crowded in early May?

We will rent a car.

Oh my goodness. I am so excited!:woohoo:

Thanks seacrest!

Jo

Early May is great! The crowds are not too bad at all. You will need about 2 days to see both parks. Day one: DL all day - Day two: DCA & DL. You can see everything in DCA in about 6 hours or so, and then go back to DL to finish up what you missed the first day.

I would stay at the Marriot at Anaheim Convention Center. It is a very nice place and there is a free shuttle to the parks.

From LAX to Anaheim it is about 30 miles. So figure about 30 minutes to 1 hour to get there - this is using the freeways and depending on what time you are using the freeways.

My wife and I would love to take you and your husband around town - Hollywood, Hollywood Blvd. Kodak Theater, El Capitan (Disney) Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Farmers Market, Universal City Walk, Olvera Street. We can even take a subway ride on our new subway system. We can drive you so that you don't have to stress out on the traffic and getting to all the places. We know where to park and what to see etc. Just let me know!

Yes, the next nearest airport is in Memphis which is nearly a 3 hour drive. DH just doesn't like the idea of that. Our airport is only 30 to 40 minutes away (depending on traffic which we try to avoid.)

How long do you have to drive for your different airports?

Always thinking about it. ;) I am not sure I can talk my kids into it. They HATE to miss school. What's up with that? :confused3

What a guy! You are the best Seacrest! :thumbsup2

Aww, thanks so much Seacrest! You are so nice!

It's looking pretty good so far!

Thanks for the tip about the Marriott @ the Convention Ctr. That's probably the one we'll go with.
I looked it up and all of the hotels are a category "5", which means we'll spend 105,000 points for 6 nights, less points for fewer nights. We'll still have points left over. :upsidedow Might as well stay at a nicer one.
Dh lived at a Residence Inn for three months while we were moving from AR, thus the Platinum status and the high points. I'd say we earned this one.:thumbsup2

My Mom just okay'd the trip- she will come and keep the kiddles while we travel.

NewCrew~ flying out of AR was always sooo dang expensive!!!!
ooohhhh, and Memphis??? Don't get me started on Memphis. Ever driven through Memphis on I-40 just over the AR border????? It scares me.:scared1: I have stories that would make your hair stand on end. Ha.:rotfl:

Don't tell the kids you're going on a trip. Just take them out of school. Or, better yet, tell them they can't go and when they fuss say that you had planned on taking them anyway. OR just leave them home for real.:rolleyes1

How's the diet???? I just took two Excedrin....I'm doing the NewCrew plan.:rotfl:

Jo

Seacrest-
have any DL and DCA maps lying around that I could have????? I am consumed with touring plans for the trip.:lmao:

That is excellent that your mom can come and she commited so quickly! :thumbsup2

Yeah Memphis is scary! :scared1: That is why we don't want to fly out of there even if it does save a few bucks! Memphis is scarier than Little Rock. I think it is one of the scariest cities in America!

I may have to pull a fast one on the kids.

The diet is working! Yeah! I want to be leaner for my BFFs wedding and if I get to go to WDW, I want to be a mean, lean, walking machine!

Sorry your head hurts. I hope it is not a 4 excedrin headache! I hope 2 kicks it!

Hey! My neighbor just called and invited me to see The Ten Tenors with her tonight. How cool is that!

Her hubby decided not to go at the last minute.

I'm writing all the DL info down Seacrest!! I hope we can make the trip within the next few years! You'll show us all the sights too, won't you??? :flower3:
Except we will have 2 kids with us! I bet you know of lots to do with 2 little boys!!

I just have to talk DS8 into the flight! He thinks the flight to Florida is too long. :confused3 It usually takes under 2 hours!! :lmao: Ah, that kid!!

I know you said 2 full days for the parks, but how many days to see all the sights?

JO - Last week I got a ding from PIT to LAX for $66! I think it was for February though. So keep your eye out. I never thought it would be that low to fly to California!

Wow, that will be fun!!! Have a great time!!!

I can't for the life of me figure out the Ding situation.
My computer refuses to accept it. Would you keep an eye on it for me and email me or call if you hear of one to LAX? Thanks.

I saw some flights out of PIT today for $90 each way to MCO. They are having a sale. Or not, depending on your idea of cheap, LOL.

The un-sale, sale.

Jo

I couldn't get the Ding to work for the longest time either. My computer was having other issues too, so I went to WalMart and bought a Norton Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware program for $40, came home and installed it. Then I UNinstalled Ding, then reinstalled it and it finally works! :confused3 Who knows what the problems was but I was like you, I couldn't get it to work for anything! :headache:

But yeah, I'll be glad to keep an eye out for you! :magnify:

So, DS's temp is back up already. :sad2: It was 101.8 a bit ago so I gave him some more Tylenol.
