JO - How about this weather! 90 degrees a few days ago and now we aren't even reaching 50. :sad2:

I guess it's time to put the summer clothes away and get out the sweaters. The good news it that when it is time to get the summer clothes back out it will be time to go to Disney!! :cool1:

Thanks for asking about my neice. She went up to Oregon today to visit with her son that she adopted out to a wonderful couple. It is an open adoption situation. After this ordeal, I think she might even move up to that area just to start fresh. We will see...

That will be good for her after the horrible situation she was put in.....

Hey Jordans_Mommie, and everyone else! :wave2:

I'm new on the May board, our dates are also May 15-20, also staying at POP. Our groups is 10 college students, look out! lol. I also was nervous about May, didn't know what to expect as I have never been in May. I hear great things though, so I am excited!!

And to whoever just applied for the college program, good luck, you will loooooove it! Let me know how that turns out, and let me know if you have any questions!! :thumbsup2
Welcom nsudisneyrep... you will LOVE may... 10 college student's together sounds like a lot of fun.... wow do i remember those days......:cloud9:

Hey JO your getting me hungry over here..... hmmmm can't wait for disney food.... yay.....:woohoo:

Hi Jo!

San Francisco is about 400 miles north of Los Angeles - about 7-9 hours, depending how fast you drive and what the traffic is like. Now this is not the scenic route, this is going up the "grapevine" which is the produce part of the state, this would be the fastest way up.

From Santa Monica, you can take the PCH to the 101 all the way up to SF. This is a very beautiful drive, a lot of coastline as you get further north. But it can take you a long time because there is a lot of turns in the road. There are also a bunch of neat places to stop along the trip: Santa Barbara, Solvang, Pismo Beach, San Louis Obispo, San Simeon (Hearst Castle), Carmel, Gilroy and Monterey Bay.

Seacrest

I love to drive down the coast but the turns are not so much on the 101 but on Highway 1 (PCH)...Highway 1 is twist...turns... curves...and a beautiful ocean view....Not recommended if your children are prone to
carsickness...we love to stop Cambria....OH Boy Brandy Ice!

Hi JC:hug:

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go SOMEWHERE!!!;) I have always wanted to come to CA. I am not making much progress with DH.:headache:

I guess it's looking pretty bleak, especially since we need furniture in our basement.:happytv: We've got this beautifully done basement with a built in entertainment center and big screen tv. And we have nothing to sit on. Ehhh, couches. Who needs 'em? I'd rather go to WDW.

Seacrest, thanks for all of the info. I'll keep you posted on tthe progress I'm making (or lack thereof.):guilty:
Hope your niece is doing okay.

Jo

JC, I've always wanted to drive that!!
And Hearst castle... :cloud9: I swear in another lifetime I lived in CA. I have always had visions (since I was a little girl) of a street that I *think* is in San Francisco. I know, weird. But I just get a strange feeling talking about it. It would be weird if I actually went there and found it.:scared1:

Jo

Mari-
Um, Disney food! Okay, DON"T eat at that France restaurant Chefs de France. We ate there last time. Maybe it was an off night for them, but it wasn't so good. I should have known better. I'd read horrible reviews before.

Shelly, are you going back to Coral Reef?

JC

:sad2: I forgot to mention that our wonderful teachers here have decided to strike. It starts Monday morning. I should have planned a trip for sure!!!!!!!;)

Jo

Huggie - What do you get when you go to Le Cellier? It will be our anniversary dinner even though we will be in Epcot a few days before our actual anniversary. Is Le Cellier kid friendly? Do you know if they do anything special for anniversary's?

It is kid friendly. I don't eat red meat but I had the salmon and it was yummy yummy. Neil had the maple filet with the sauce on the side. You are also very close together. But it is nice.

JO thanks for the head up....

Shelly what did u think of the Coral Reef... i was thinking about that restaurant in May.....

I am going to coral reef in Dec. So i can give you my review when we get back.

We were having dinner last night and my son tells me about his surf class exeperience. (Yea, he has surfing for PE everyweek-gnarley!)

He was boogie boarding and as he was coming in off the wave he sees a shark! So he dashes out of water and starts warning the other guys about the shark. He looks around in the water and there are more sharks! One of the guys runs out of the water and he steps on one of the sharks! Thankfully, everyone got out and no one was injured. They could have been sand sharks, they usually hang around shoreline and rarely have bitten anyone. I told my son, now he has a great story to tell his kids and grandkids one day.

Okay, I know what I'm NOT doing if I come out there!:) Reminds me of a story my DH tells about when he was a small boy...

His Grandmother was visiting him when they lived in Ft Walton Beach FL and they were at the beach. He was building sand castles and his Gma was in knee deep water. All of a sudden she starts saying "Oh, Marky, look at the pretty little fishies" and about the same time a dorsal fin came swimming right past her. The lifeguards started blowing their whistles, moms were grabbing their babies, all hell was breaking loose and Grandma was trying to reach down to touch the "pretty fishies".:rotfl:

Oh my.

Jo
