Hello MAYers!! Boy this thread is getting pretty bare. :sad1: Come back MAYers!!!!! :snooty:

Sorry your wife hasn't found anything yet Seacrest. Sure hope she's enjoying her time off though! That would be really cool if she could work for Disney! :wizard:

JO - Oh my gosh! It sure got cold fast. It was so hot the first week of school (just last week) and now it's like fall has set in already. Everything is going good with the kids and school so far! I'm doing okay too! :rotfl: Actually the morning goes by pretty fast, DS 5 is not even gone for 4 hours! And I get to do things like go to the store by myself, clean the house by myself, go to the PTO meetings by myself, and so on. Next year will be much harder, but then I will probably be going back to work. How do your kids like their new school?

Nothing else really going on around here. Starting to think about DS 5's 6th birthday coming up here in a few weeks. I just can't seem to get motivated on it for some reason though. Not sure why :confused3 Maybe because at my older sons party last year one of his friends ran through the house with very muddy shoes on! So after the party as I was on the floor scrubbing mud out of my new carpet I swore I was never having a party here again!!!!! So I'm trying to talk DS 5 into doing something other than a party! Maybe going into the city for the day and doing some fun things there, we'll see.

Yay! It's Shelly!!!!!!

Freezing here. I am so un-excited over the prospect of winter. Yuck. This has been the best summer. Kind of hot, like the south. I know that people around here think the humidity is awful, but I honestly didn't think it was terrible. Now, since my blood is still very thin, I will be complaining like all get out once winter sets in.:)

Glad you are enjoying your mornings. Belle is in afternoon classes, and I wish she was in AM.
Still not sure about the teachers strike. They are wanting a stupid amount of money if you ask me, since USA Today just reported the national average a teacher makes is in the $45+ thousand dollar range. Our teachers want upwards of $70k average. Oh, and they want totally free health care for their families.:confused3 If it happens, the rise in our taxes will be devastating to many people. It's not like the cost of living here is out of sight. Oh my.

How's the trip plans going? I am having withdrawal. I want to go back.:guilty:

I hope you get some Birthday Party Planning energy! They always wipe me out.

I know, I am freezing and it's not even that cold yet! At least the sun is out today! I can handle the weather from now until about Christmas. January thru April is when it gets so depressing! When winter seems to go on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!:cold:

DH read about the teacher strike down there in the paper at work. He said they are trying to get a 4 year contract that would give them somewhere near $100k by the end of the 4 years. That's a little ridiculous. I can't imagine what the taxes will be like!

The trip planning is going good! I am all booked thru Disney. Just waiting for November to get here to make my ADR's. And I'm checking for airfare online everyday. No great deals on that yet. Last year we paid $69 each way so I'm hoping to get that again or better! Let me know if you hear of anything!
Hope your next Disney trip will be coming soon! :wizard:

Shelly-

Keep checking on the transportation forum, every day. They reported when Southwest put their new flights up. I jumped on it and got $39 (!) each way for the May trip. Only a few seats are sold in that price range so you have to be aware of when they put them out and react quickly.

Morning Girls....:)

Shelly after about 4 of our DGS birthday parties in our backyard...and wet kid and towels everywhere (and muddy prints ;) )...this year our DDIL found PUMP-IT-UP....YES!!!
A great time was had by all...kids and parents...For around $350.00 you could have up to 25 children bouncing around on some of the greatest slides, mazes, etc. for over an hour...then into the birthday room for pizza and drinks...all tables set and ready for the birthday child and guests...a wonderful helper did all the serving and clean-up (it is included with the price) A "throne" at the front of the room awaited the Birthday child and there they open their gifts...and the wonderful helper records all of this so you could enjoy and take pictures...I must admit that a lot of the parents had as much fun if not more in the bounce room...The birthday cake was supplied by us and that was the only extra we paid for...We will be going back next year...no mess...no fuss.

Shelly the dates we are looking into for our next trip are:
May 11/21 or June 17/27 and we all leaning towards MAY :snooty:

Our grandson just started 1st grade..he is in a 1st/2nd grade mix...so the kids want to see how this goes before they decide to take him out of school.

So we wait .... and ...

Hey everyone!

What's up? Any news?

My wife is still looking for work...she even applied for work over at Disney offices in our area.

The weather has been awesome here. About 75-80, sunny and really nice. It doesn't seem like fall is coming soon. There is still time to enjoy strolls on the beach and watch some sunsets before the time change starts.

Seacrest

Sea...hope your DW finds her job....Disney would be soooo cooool! Dear Friend :rotfl2: ...
Weather here is great....the mildest summer on record...no weeks on end in the hundreds....just mild temps and sunny :cloud9:

We are planning on doing the character breakfast with Lilo & Stitch this time at Ohana at the Poly!

oh bad news.... my friend now wants to go to disney in March 08... i dont' think i'll be able to go with her considereing i'll be there in Feb. i wish but sheesh my bank account can't afford it...... :sad1:

My wife has an interview with Disney on Monday morning. Their recruiter has called her about 3 times the last couple of days. Hopefully, this might be a good fit...we will see and let you know.

School has started for my son - 10th grade! Next week he wants to get his drivers learner's permit. :scared1:

I am expanding my fundraising business now and setting up independent distributorships nationwide. This is a great part-time business, easy to do, and you can work from home. If you want more details, please PM and I will email my 10 page e-report for FREE to my MAYER friends only :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

So happy to see the mayers are still here.
Hope everyone is well.
It seems like life has taken over for me north of the border.
I don't get to come back here as often as I'd like to anymore...school, and kids and work and trip planning...

Jodi- I can't wait to get to Charleston.
Dh and I are really excited. Our Hotels booked, and we have plans on doing at least one walking tour, possibly two.
plus dh has scheduled us some golf time.

We thought about staying a night on Hilton head Island at the Disney Resort there...anyone know about it or have you been there???

JC- where are you....I'm going to the gentle island in June ...if you want to come :))))))

Hi MAYers!

What in the world are all of you doing????:)

Lake, I hope you have a wonderful visit to Charleston! We won't be back down there until Christmas. We're trying to decide whether or not to stay in the new house for Christmas Day or to go home to Charleston, like we always do. Decisions, decisions.

We've never been to the Resort on HHI, just visited the island some. DH's territory used to be Savannah, Charleston, HHI, and Myrtle Beach. Um, we moved...why? I don't know! Crazy, I suppose.

Seacrest~

Any news for your wife? Hope all things are going good.

Shelly~
Whatcha' doin, girl????? This weather is killing me! My allergies are driving me insane.
ugh.

Everyone else, I hope you are all fairing well. I know that the beginning of school is hard, but I need to hear how my friends are.

Jo

everyone ok on my end. My disney plans are going great....
Seacrest : so is ur wife a Disney Employee yet??????
