Hi! I had to jump in and comment on the DP. We used it before, 2 years ago, when it was free. We loved it then, but it was...Free.

This time around, I didn't love it so much. We were uncomfortable full all the time, and I hate eating my dessert immediately after dinner. I also was more bothered by having ADR's this trip. It never really bothered me before, but this time around, it was "can't see that, need to go here to make the ADR"....really put a damper on some of our fun! Next trip, I'll probably only make 3 or 4 ADR's and go counter service the rest of the time. (BTW, the counter service at Pop was surprisingly good...I had the chicken penne alfredo and it was very tasty, but big enough to split with one of my kids).

Overall, we thought the food was fantastic...Le Cellier was fabulous, and Park Fare was a favorite across the board (loved it!!) Whispering Canyon was a hoot and the food was decent. Everything else was perfectly fine. There was just way too much food. I also noticed that I was craving more salads and wraps, and I think eating more counter service dinners would have worked better for us. We hardly used any of our snack credits, and after trying to use some on the last day, I ended up bringing home 4 rice krispie treats, 1 bag of Mickey pretzels, one bag of Minnie graham snacks, 1 bag of peanut brittle and one bag of Cheetos...:rotfl:

Next trip, we'll skip the plan and just eat "normal".

we too had loads of snack credits left over, but it worked out great in the end because we had snacks for the plane!!

LOVED 1900!!! that was an A+ all the way across!! ::yes::

How is the weather Tasmen?

It's been wonderful. Today was breezy and warm. I would guess mid 80s.

Hi Tasmen....what floor are you on and did you get a upgrade?...We miss the lounge...the pool...the resort...Oh you get it...we want to go back..:wizard:
Enjoy the rest of your trip...
JC

We ended up on the 3rd floor with a garden view room. We got what we requested. No upgrades. But that's ok :) I'm completely happy with the room.

I did however get lots of towel animals and such.:)

We only got one.

Did not get towel animals...never have! :sad1: We did get two nice things for our anniversary...AKL...A card and two animals carvings...a Lion and Lioness and when you opened the carvings up they held perfume in the Lioness and cologne in the Lion...And at the Poly two card and pictures one is Mickey and Minnie and Lilo and Stitch wishing us a Happy Anniversary...with the anniversay buttons...
JC

Yeah we got some buttons, a basket from our planning coordinator, a chocolate postcard, and some things at other places we ate (champagne flutes from CRT was the best).

Early evening all

DH eats a ton and the DDP plan left him full constantly! haha! that's why we love it!!\

Yeah..my DH is an eater and it's WAY too much food for even him. We have been eating a light breakfast most days and then lunch plus dinner. We've been skipping snacks for the most part. Tomorrow I am going to use the rest of the credits. This probably means a lot of people in Epcot are going to get free snacks on us and people are getting free breakfast at Kona. We've been skipping dual appetizers on a lot of meals and sometimes not even getting dessert (mostly on the couple counter service we've had). The food, however, at least where we have gone has been pretty good. I cancelled Le Cellier last night for lunch today (I know..I know, but hey someone had to be happy I cancelled) and instead went to Whispering Canyon.

I'll do a full dining report when I get back along with the OOP expenses (read: boooooooooze) as well as dining plan stuff. My fav meal so far has got to be Victoria & Albert's though. It was just so yum.

Anyway, now off to California Grill and Wishes! I probably won't post again until I'm home.

Oh yeah, what did you the GS think of his basket, JC? :) I wanted to ask you that when I saw you but couldn't without giving away the surprise to the DH.

we didn't take too many pics :( we were just so caught up in everything!!

OMGosh...we took 297 pictures! Gotta love digital! We also have 30 photopass pictures, but for the most part, they all stink. Our freebie photo in the Disney Visa kiosk in Epcot was AWFUL. I don't know if the photographer was on drugs or what, but they were all off center and she cut Minnie Mouse off in one of them! I honestly had a hard time picking out a FREE picture! They were that bad!

i just hated lugging the digi cam around and it's soo teenie! hahaha! it stayed in the stroller pouch almost the entire time!! ::yes:: i say we're lucky if we have 150 photos!

:D I know. There was a comment made on our trip about how my brother was hungry so my mom said, what do you want me to do? Stop the car and pick a coconut?

We aren't sure about the DDP either. . . I'd have to say I agree with Huggie for the most part, Diseny food is just okay, nothing great. Especially for the kids. It seemed like they were always given the same 2-3 choices, and that's not good for picky eaters! Here are my ratings:

Wolfgang Puck Express - okay
Garden Grill - food-awful , characters-great
Coral Reef - good, but loud and expensive (a definate NOT if not on the DDP)
Crystal Palace breakfast - good, but not great like last time
Casey's Corner - very good
Hollywood & Vine - NOT very good
Donald's Breakfastosauras - good
Chef Mickey's - very good

We paid $600 for the plan, our meals and snacks all totaled $870. So I'm not sure if we'll do it again or not. . . At times we were uncomfortably full, like Marcy said. And rushing here & there to make the ADR's everyday was a pain. On our last night we had 12 snack credits left so we went to DTD to Goofy's candy store and loaded up on things to bring home. So we wouldn't have bought all that stuff if not on the DDP, and we wouldn't have ate at the Coral Reef ($135 bill), and we wouldn't have done so many character meals. So it's hard to say if it was worth it for our family or not ????? :confused3

Thank You  for sharing Memories by Sarah
Our GS was so thrilled....and the note Sarah attached to the basket was priceless...GS could not wait until he saw Mickey Mouse...All he keep say is I need to see MM and thank him for my basket....and HOW did he know this is just what I wanted...Star Wars...we brought back two different light sabers one from SW build a light saber and a Boba Fett helmet...
What did you DH thinks of his basket?

I took a ton of photos too....I had 210 on my digital camera and another 120-130 Photopass pics.....Everytime I saw one of the Photopass photographers I'd get pics taken, even if I had already had pics in that spot.....for the most part they look like they came out pretty good, I can't wait to get the CD :)

Hey Guys!

I maxed out my 1 GB photo memory card and had to buy a new one while there! I think I took over 400 photos. I even went thru several times on the bus deleting what I didn't like. I will have to add up my two cards to see how many photos I took.

It is interesting to read what you guys thought about the DDP. We have never done this. We are not dessert eaters and if we do order an appetizer it is usually something we can share. It just didn't seem to fit our crew.

Keep the reports coming.

We are having serious withdrawals around here. It's all I can do to hold our team together.

Okay, here's how much my DH eats...
We ate at Fulton's in DTD (anyone been there???). It's not on the DDP. Anyway, we went and he ordered the whole live main Lobster 2.5 pounds, stuffed with shrimp and scallops. When it came, it was hanging off of both sides of a platter that would hold a slab of beef big enough to feed a family of 5.

He also ordered a crab cake appetizer and a ceasar salad.

He proceeded to eat all of it, and a quarter of mine (the king crab claws...wonderful. ).

When we left, he told me he knew it was sick, but he was still "snacky". What the heck??????:scared1:

I would recommend Fulton's, but, it was expensive. With tip and a couple glasses of wine, it was close to $200.
