I think i'll just stay with Le cellier we are doing other character meals anyway for my DD. i was just wondering because i heard the rest revolves and ever since Enchanted my DD decided her fav characters are chip and dale i guess because of the squrrel in the movie. she runs around the house screaming "chicka wawa chicka wawa" she is a clown at times....

Hey Jo i'm feeling better thank you... I was in the process of moving all my DD toys into the playroom but as i'm putting them in she's taking them out so i'll wait until she does down for her nap.....

Maybe i'll just make a seperate ADR for garden grill but i feel like we already have enough i don't want to go to WDW just to eat i want to enjoy the parks.. hmmm what to do? what to do?

We LOVE Le Cellier! The steak is wonderful!

They have a chocolate mouse that is in the shape of a moose! My kids talk about that to this day. We try to eat there each trip ever since we discovered it.

They also have a smore dessert that my daughter says looks like a birthday party on a plate. Very festive and yummy!

It does take a long time to dine there and the tables are crowded. Last trip we ate late, like around park closing. We felt like we were not missing valuable park time by eating that late. We had a nice snack in the late afternoon and just mentally said we would be spending the evening at Le Cellier and did not have an early morning the next day, it think it was our sleep in day but I cannot remember.

A couple of years ago my son forgot his fanny pack with his autograph book in it. When we got back to our room the manager had left us a message and drove to the GF after he left the restaurant for the night and left the book at the front desk for us. I think we spoke with him around 11 pm so it was later than that when he left the restaurant.

Lasy year my son did a report on an island province (Lake help me out). He wanted to know if there was someone there from that provence. Our waitress said sure we have one person and she is working tonight and went and got a young lady who talked to my son about 20 minutes about her provence. Very nice. She was impressed that an American his age knew so much about her provence and told us he did an excellent report. That he knew more than she did. Which of course made his day.

My kids love the bread sticks there and could dine on those alone.

Food is great! Takes a long time! People are very nice. (They do seemed rushed from time to time which is odd as the service is so slow!)

I have never been to Garden Grill so I cannot comment on it.

Hope this helps!

Yep, it's really early, we have to leave by 3:30am to be at the airport by 4:30 when the counter opens for check-ins....I'll definitely check-in when I can, I probably won't be able to for the first week or so since my computer can't be shipped to me til I'm checked in with the program.

Hey all!

DMM: You will have fun in Mexico despite the heat!

Jo: How did the dental appointment go?

Mari: Don't paint yourself into a corner. (Bad joke, I know)

Sulley: Can't wait for your first report about DCP!

NC: How did your work out go? Maybe you can use my last video has a training tape. :rotfl:

But set that computer up as quick as you can!!! :surfweb: ;)

Mari, here's some pictures of Garden Grill. Looking back it really was a fun character experience! We had heard that the food was bad, so we were prepared and planned our next meal accordingly! We basically went to see chip & dale because the boys love them. The service was very slow even though we were the very first seating at 11:00.

We are going to go to Cape May for breakfast in May to see chip & dale and Minnie!!

Sully.. Have a GREAT pre CP trip. I hope you enjoy yourself. Just keep in touch and we will see you in May..... remember to tell us what park you will work at.....

HI EVERYONE!

Reading through the last few pages I suffered from deja vu, I see the WDW Restaurant talk has begun for this years Mayers.

I will agree that the meal at the Garden Grill wasnt memorable, but the kids had a great time with the characters. Chip even tried to steal DD's soother, and Pluto pretended to lick DS and his Ice cream sundae. It was very funny.

We loved the Buffet at the Beach Club... no characters at dinner but the meal was great. My daughters favorite was 1900 Park Fare...but then again that probably has more to do with Cinderella. Chef Mickey's was fun too.

My question of the day

Has anyone been on the Disney Cruise?
We are thinking of doing 7 days at Disney and tagging on 3 days of cruise on the end of it. That way we can do the disney rush. and then relax for three days before we fly home again. Is the cruise worth the money$$$$. Other cruises are much less $$$, and we could just spend the money on an upgrade at WDW for the length of stay and do a cruise another time. I have heard some people say it's worth the money and others say its very expensive for what they received in terms of services. But I trust my Mayers, and would love to hear their comments on it.

Unfortunately I dont think we will be joining you at WDW in October Jodi. :( SORRY! I would have loved to meet my carolina girl! Someday! :) Our plan is May of 2009...and we have a big group planned again for 2010. All those who went with us last year, plus hopefully a few others.

This year we are going to stick closer to home (Canada at least) and do some long awaited house repairs and renovations to the bathrooms and our bedroom, so that we can put it up for sale again next year, and make the move we have wanted to for over a year now. Yahh!!!!

Our party went well this weekend, and DS and his friend loved Alvin and the Chipmunks. The Lightning McQueen cake we ordered was amazing and very yummy. And now we are all feeling better too! :lovestruc

Well, boo to you, Ms. Lake! :goodvibes Sorry we cannot meet up in October, it would have been fun. MAYBE I can convince Dh that we need to go back in May of '09. Hum...now I'm thinkin' I might need an AP....;)

I haven't ever been on a Disney cruise. The only cruise I went on was to the Bahamas aboard the Carnival cruise ship Fantasy. Ewwww, just about sums that trip up. I have heard very positive things about the DCL, but I cannot convince myself to go cruising again for the life of me. Flying, I'm okay. Out in the water, not so much. This, coming from a Sailor's daughter.:rotfl:

There's "stuff" under the water that I know is out there and I can't see...
KWIM???? :scared1: 20,0000 Leagues, anyone? No? Titanic??? No??? okay, how's about The Poseidon Adventure? Not too much of an adventure if you want my opinion.:sail:

And now, moving on to Sulley~
I hope your time in Florida brings you joy and new friendships to last a lifetime! Be safe and have a great time. All of us MAYers are living through you so look at everything and see it all twice...once for yourself and twice for us.

Jo

Sulley- Have a safe flight!! and Have a great time.  :worship: :worship: I am so jealous.

Lake- I have done cruises and loved them. I have heard that Disney crusies are pricey. I do love Royal Caribbean though

Lake - I have tried convincing DH into Dis Cruise but he tells me the same thing that Jo was saying... haven't you seen titanic and then the other day he watched poseidon... my shots of a cruise are down the drain unless i go with someone else....

Jo- my DH feels the same way you do about cruises.....

Evening Mayers!! (Or should I say Mornin' Mayers since I know you probably won't see this til mornin?)

So we're at T-minus 4 hours til leaving the house and T-minus 12 hours til arriving in hopefully sunny (and warmer) MCO! I'm at the beyond excited point of this craziness (and I don't think I'm going to be able to fall asleep anytime soon).

Everything is packed up as best I can tell and I already have another box of stuff to be shipped of things that I had to take out of my suitcase to bring the weight down.

Thank you all so much for your warm wishes! I can't wait to meet the Mayers when you visit and I'll be sure to check in with reports and pics as often as possible!

:snooty: :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:   :cool1: :cool1:   :dance3: :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :woohoo:

( Yay for smileys! :) )

alright here it is....

WE LOVE CRUISING!! and we will only cruise with DCL. It's an amazing experience. We honeymooned on the Magic (it was supposed to be the WONDEr, but the hurricane had us on a different ship!).

It's an amazing thing! It is super expensive, for what you get if you think about it in terms of what you could have at WDW, BUT it's worth it for us!! We're cruising in September of next year, September 3rd! We are in a Veranda room and I can't wait! The kids will be a bit older and we are ready to hit the high seas!! We are renewing our vows again in WDW, so we figured we'd repeat the honeymoon too! only this time with 3 kids! hahah!

Sulley-

Be safe and happy Florida trails to you!!!!
