This whole airfare thing is driving me nuts  Am I the only one? I am obsessing! SWA released their flights through May 9 today and I'm not impressed. For one, my dates are still not out and I'm guessing it will be another 2 months before they are released.

I checked the SWA prices for the first week in May and they were like $129 each way, I checked for the same time frame on Air Tran and they were $99 each way. SWA has the better selection of flight times, but I am worried that I may lose the lower Air Tran fare and then SWA will release at the higher rate.

My head is spinning with all of this!

Oh, good morning everyone! :grouphug:

JM, try not to worry about the airfare too much just yet. I know, it is so hard not to! But it is still early. I was not impressed that SWA released their rates up until May 9, especially considering that we leave May 10! :rotfl: Last year we didn't decide to go in May until January. So it was in Jan. that I bought our Air Tran tickets for $69 one-way. Right now Air Tran's price for our dates are $104 one-way. So I am waiting it out until at least January. I have been watching Air Tran closely and it looks like they have been dropping their rates to $79 one-way about 3 months before the date. Not as good as last year, but still better than over $100. I have never been able to get very good rates from SWA, but then we can't ever leave on a weekday either and I think that's what most of their specials are for. So you may be able to do better with them since you are flying on weekdays.

Here's to good airfare coming to the MAYers!!!!! :wizard: pixiedust: :tink: :snooty:

Shelly~
I have been reading that October this year was just awful. That's so sad!! When we went last year, it was wonderful until the Jersey Week people started coming in.

I think the days of "low crowds" are gone. Now instead of value, regular, holiday and peak seasons, they have three seasons. Just chaos, mass chaos, and hysteria!!!!

We found our time in May this year to be busier than our trip last October, so you just never know. Busy to some is heaven to others, I suppose.

Nothing beats walking onto Main street, though, that first Christmas we went and saw a sea of people all moving as one body. I almost fainted. It was awful. 86,000 people in the MK. It was like the videos you see of Mardi Gras where people are carried down the road by bodies moving in tandem. I actually was afraid for our lives.

We stood in line for Pooh for just under three hours. Pooh!!!!! Never again.

If it doesn't say 20 minute wait, we keep walking.:rotfl:

Jo

I think you're right, there's probably no time that WDW is not crowded!! I think it depends on how you tour the parks too. We never go to a park with EMH's, and I think that's what helped us last MAY.

I'm thinking the end of January wouldn't be too bad though. We were supposed to be going the second week of December this year. The week Huggie is going. Then we decided we couldn't wait and became MAYers!! So I'd still like to try early December sometime too. Going again in 2008 is out of the question. So it'll either be Jan. 2009 or Dec. 2009. Jan. is a lot sooner, I think that's why it is looking so good to me!! :lmao: But I am going to wait and see how our finances are and see what Huggie has to say about the second week of December.

So what would I need to know about staying at a value? There are no pool slides, no towels at the pools, no shade at the bus stops, and no refrigerators in the rooms. Is that it?

Ok, I am off the ledge now :rotfl2: I am going to put the airfare out of my mind until after the holidays. I am going to shift my obsession to my ADRs. :thumbsup2

Mari - Looks like some great ADR's so far. But our Ohana and LeCellier days don't match up. :sad1:
When are you going.... like i said not set in stone i can switch it up so that we can meet up.... hey what day are you doing your DTD.... what happened to our meet????

Let's see. . .

I am trying for LeCellier for supper on Mon MAY 12,
and Ohana breakfast on Tues MAY 13, very early!!

I'm not sure what happened to our MAYers DTD Meet. We were talking about possibly Mother's Day. I think everyone was waiting until after we make our ADR's next week. Then we will make a plan! :thumbsup2 :grouphug: :snooty:

Thank you everyone, I agree that prayer does work. My little guy is happy and at home and I'm soo ecstatic! He is still coughing a lot and it's hard to keep him seperate from the other kids, but it's also a bit easier, since he sleeps so much still :)

So glad he's home, Michelle. I know it was a rough few days for all of you.

Now he can get on with...LIFE.:goodvibes

:grouphug:

Why don't you look at Artist Point or Raglan Road?

Lunch today was turkey sandwich on wheat with homemade potato chips and iced tea. Tonight we are having spagetti, garlic bread with a chopped salad with a creamy italian dressing (my favorite kind).

DMM - Thanks for the update on Roman.

Huggie - 30 days until WDW! Woo Hoo!

Mari - I like your WDW schedule!

Shelly - Don't forget to get a Disney "Happy Anniversary" button at your resort's front desk or City Hall at MK for you and your husband.

Jo - I had clean butter on my blueberry muffin this morning. I thought you would like to know that.

clean butter. It is imperative to have it in your life. I am the clean butter police in this house. Always yelling if I find even a half of a miniscule crumb. It really, really grosses me out. And don't even get me started about finding butter floating in the jelly jar. :scared1: Or peanut butter. What the crap is up with that??????:sad2: Did I ask for any condiments to go with my condiments????? :rotfl:

Mari~ Aw, the heck with your soon to be ex bosses! They just feel like slime because they know they should've been paying you more. I hate it when higher up's act that way.

Shelly~ Your anniversary plans sound like so much fun. Happy 6 months early Anniversary! Ha Ha.

What's the plans for the weekend??????

University of Florida plays University of South Carolina tomorrow. Talk about a divided heart...;)

Lake leaves for Carolina today! Have a wonderful vacation Lake!!!!!:woohoo:

I think today I will pull out my Holiday China and get it all sparkly. YAY!

Jo
