Mari and RF - Those rates are mid-week flights, Wed-Tues. That's what we were hoping for, lower priced mid-week flights. . . Too bad the times stink. I still haven't done anything. :confused3

Have fun at Kennywood RF! :goodvibes

Sea, that is so great that your wife is going back to teaching. I'm sure she has had a great time working at WDS, but will be glad to get back to teaching.

thanks mari!

and NC - i think we are going to get blackberries and blueberries - and i just like to eat em!!! i don't do anything too fancy to them - i'll eat them with oatmeal in the morning - or put them in a salad or make a topping for grilled dchicken or fish :confused3

i made a really good fruit salsa the other day with grilled scallops - mango- red and orange peppers - fresh jalapeno pepper and orange marmalade :goodvibes yuuummmmmy!!!

Shelly - And sorry that people can be so rude  I don't understand what they care if you don't like their resort - I would love if I went to a resort that I love that everyone else hates! Less crowded busses! :rotfl:

I know, people put down CBR all the time. I sure don't get bent out of shape about it. I don't work there, and I certainly don't own the place, so what do I care??? :lmao: More space for me! :goodvibes

Mari, are you going to try to get in a photopass share for January? Or don't you think you will be in the parks very much on that trip?

I'd like to get one going but my computer isn't capable of copying the Cd's, so I need someone else to take the lead. I just started a thread but haven't gotten any responses yet. . .

hey shelly - how exactly do those photopass shares work?

Here's the basics, I copied this from our May 2008 photopass thread, Mari, Huggie, & I plus like 5 other people went in on it. ~

"Someone takes the Lead. This someone has to:

Be willing to order the CD(s)
Collect the money from everyone
Be computer savy enough to copy the CDs for everyone
Send CDs to everyone

The more people you get - the cheaper the CDs are. It costs 100$ to preorder a Photopass CD. so if 5 people do it the cost per person will be 25 + shipping (depends on how fast you would like it).
Everyone would send me the money so i can preorder the CD this would be done before vacation. I would accept paypal if that is what anyone wants to do.

We will all have to put our pics on the photopass website with the login info that i will make and send to everyone. Each person will be responsible to edit their pics then we will set a date that everyone has to finish their editing and i will order the cd. Since i have a burner on my comp i can make a copy of the CD for everyone. Once i receive the CD i will make copies and send to everyone...."

It worked out great! :goodvibes

Hi guys...I tried to post this morning, but it didn't take... :confused3

RF, congrats on 2 more lbs! :yay: :thumbsup2 I weigh in tomorrow, we'll see how it goes... I'd love your fruit salsa recipe. About the house...my 22 year old son was going to renew his lease on his 2 bedroom apt (not that great a neighborhood) and it would have been almost $1000 a month! So he bought a condo and with taxes, insurance, and home owner's association dues it's about $750/month. So really look at the numbers, sounds like your dad can give you good advice. You might also see about paying for a home waranty -- we did that, and it saved us a bundle when we had to replace the dishwasher and had to do a major plumbing repair in one of the bathrooms. It was well worth the yearly fee.

mari -- cute, cute baby!!! :goodvibes aw, arent they wonderful when they are so little and cuddly like that!

Shelly, some people can be so ridiculously silly. I've seen some of the biggest, ugliest fights on here about the DDP, fast passes, signature dining, ADR's, you name it  Good grief, such foolishness! :sad2: I'd rather hear someone's honest report of the good, bad, and ugly of a resort, a restaurant, etc. That's their experience. Mine may be similar, better, or worse, but at least I heard their feelings about it. Really sorry to hear that you were harrassed like that just for giving your opinion.

Sea, congrats to your parents, and to your wife for her new job -- although I would hate giving up working for Disney! But it sounds like it will work out better for her anyway...

OK, gotta scoot, my lunch time is over -- hi to NC, lake, Jo, anyone else I missed?

YEAH KB!!! I am super excited to hear your results - from what you have told me, it seems like you did really good your first week back!!
please make sure that you let me know how it goes! I'll be out almost all day tomorrow, but I'll log on ASAP. The salsa recipe is sooo easy

2 any color peppers diced (no points)
1 mango diced (1 point - i think  )
1 fresh jalapeno pepper diced (no seeds - try to not even TOUCH them - that's where all of the heat in the pepper lives and they are no fun to get in your eye or on your skin) (no points)
2 tbsp orange marmalade (1 point each)

(you can make this as different as you want by adding diced pineapple, papaya, diced red onions, cilantro etc...)
and it is delicious with grilled chicken, scallops, salmon etc... :goodvibes

OK - maybe I am an idiot Shelly,  but I am still confused. LOL

How does everyone's pictures get onto the same photopass? I did photopass and I understand the whole thing of how to get your pics taken, how to view your pics from home etc... just not how several different cards can get onto one account... It is probably so simple and I am just thinking too much about it...

RF - She worked on educational projects. I can't really talk about the specifics, but here is the division of the company she was apart of: http://dep.disney.go.com/educational/index
She really likes it there - lots of creativity and synergy to do some neat stuff. However, my wife has a real gift and heart to teach children or as she says "her babies". That is what brings a lot of joy into her life and that makes me happy too.

Tomorrow's seminar is about letterpress printing. One of my first jobs in life was (over 30 years ago) was operating a Heidelberg 10x15 Windmill printing press. There is a lot of interest in the graphic arts community in LA for old style printing and how to operate the presses and to make invitations, stationery and gift items.

All of the oldtimers are dead and gone, so there are very few people around to teach how to setup, operate and maintain the Heidleberg. A friend of mine has a small hobby shop she has setup and she has me come and teach her students for about 4-6 hours on a Saturday. It is kind of fun and I get my hands a bit dirty for a couple of hours.

The lead person goes in and sets up the account online and then gives all the other people the username and password, then everyone can put in their codes from the back of their cards and they are then all on one account.

Make sense? I know, I didn't get it at first either. :rotfl:

Okay, so I went ahead and got the airline tickets!! :yay: We decided to fly down the night before. Hopefully we won't have any delays or that will make for a long night. :wizard: I need to call WDW today and add another day onto the room ressie. This "little" trip has now grown into a 7 night/8 day vacation! :rotfl:

Okay, so I just called to add a day to our trip and got actual 2009 room rates this time. $149 a night for a moderate. I think that's the same as the 2008 price. He said that the 2009 packages will definitely be out TOMORROW!

Yay Shelly! Airfare booked, room packages coming out tomorrow. I love it when a plan comes together! :lovestruc

The weather here really stinks today. It is terrible.

Temp - 104
Heat Index - 114

It's only 108 in Vegas today and it feels like 108. I wish I were back in Vegas!

:rotfl:

Today and tomorrow the weather is supposed to be just like it was yesterday. We are watering our grass, but it is burning up, literally.

Jo - I hope you guys are surviving the move-in in this heat.

Just a quick hi...slow weekend :)

My car is acting up -- and of course it JUST passed the 50,000 mile mark, so it's no longer under warranty  DH had to come give me a jump because it wouldn't turn over...now it's acting ok, but I don't want to be stuck at home tomorrow, so I drove it to the shop and left it parked there over night. Will have to go there first thing in the morning (in DH's old car that we haven't sold yet) to set up things for them to check it...will be late for work, but oh well, can't be helped. Hopefully it's something simple like a bad battery cable.

Oh, and I lost 6.1 lbs this week :goodvibes

GOOD JOB on losing weight.... horrible about the car. That seems to always happen the car under warranty NOTHING happens to it... it's as if it senses when the warranty runs out and decides to act up. Good luck.

MORNING ALL....

2009 rates came out.... my package only went up by 200 dollars.... but i knew it would go up so i was prepared....

Morning Mari!

It depends on how you look at my package as to whether it went up or down! :rotfl:

For the same package and same amount of days that I went in May this year, next years trip will be like $70 less! That's after the 2009 price increase, but we are going in Value season next year.

If you look at the same package in Value season 2008 that I am getting in Value season 2009 it went up only $85!

And here's hoping for January discounts!! :wizard:

morning everyone! :flower3:

we had a great fun filled weekend!! friday we saw seamus who was hilarious as always - saturday we wnet to kennywood and had great weather!(and i took lots of pics for a TR that i will do soon :goodvibes ) and sunday we took my sister to the dormont public pool and out for ice cream.

great job kb on the weight loss!!!!! i am so excited for you!

hey mari - where did you find the price increase info? i want to start pricing out some stuff.

does anyone know if there was an increase in price to the DDP? I know that they added another option - the "quick service ddp" you get 2 cs and 2 snacks a day - but i don't know any of the prices yet.
