hey did anyone ever hear from michelle.... DMM..... hmm i was wondering about her today and wondering how little roman was....

Glad the party turned out OK, even with the rain. I hope your dd had fun.

Mari - My dh is up in your neck of the woods. He flew into LaGuardia(sp) this morning and drove into CT. He said the weather was very mild there today. He said CT looks a lot like AR, lots of trees. :confused3 I know you are not in CT, that you are in NJ but I thought he was pretty close. Everything up there seems so close together to me.

It was 94 here. It is starting to get hot.

morning everyone!

i'm glad that everyone likes the pictures :goodvibes - even though i pretty much hated that guy - most of the pics turned out pretty cute :thumbsup2

nc and mari - we did a "sand ceremony" instead of doing a unity candle - there's a lot of different things to do instead of just the unity candle now

here's the link to where i bought my set:

http://kensingtonclassics.com/8534+Heart+Shaped+Unity+Sand+Ceremony+Set

how it works is - when our pastor would have done the lighting of the candle ceremony we did the sand instead and what we had him say was basically, "Each vase of sand represents Bob and Heather individually - all that they were, all that they are and all that they ever will be... each of them is able to stand alone - but the pouring of the 2 together joins them forever, because just like the sand that will never be able to be completely seperated again - so will their marriage." We just liked the concept a little more than the candle and now we have a nice keepsake to display... we also had our pastor pour his own vase of sand in to represent our union with god and having god in our lives and marriage.

Here's where we got the idea:

mari - I promise I'm on it! (the wdw pictures) - you guys will see them before our next trips!! :rotfl2: ... I pinkie swear :lmao:

I really like the sand ceremony. That is so neat. Is yours layered like the one in the photo? I think that is so cool. :cool2:

Hello all! :goodvibes

What's going on in MAYerland??? :snooty: I sure hope this thread isn't going to die out!

Great wedding pictures RF!!! Love the sand ceremony. Great idea! Can't wait to see some of your WDW pictures!

Are your kids still at camp NC? How's that going?

Mari - glad you had a nice weekend! :yay:

Sea - I tell ya, you've got the life out there. . . always getting special Disney treatment and all!! :cool1: I told my DH that we were talking about a house swap and he said - well if we swap houses then who is going to be in CA to show us around??? :lmao: He's probably right, we are not very good at traveling in unfamiliar places!! :rotfl:

The weekend getaway was nice! Not too much to do in State College, but that's where DH's class was so that's where we had to lodge! We had a great hotel. Lots of great places to eat! Hershey was awesome as always! Penn's Cave was very neat. I'll have to post pictures soon!

I picked up the kids on Sat. They had a blast! They said it was their best year yet. We got home around 3 p.m. and I did mountains of laundry. All their bedding, towels, clothes, swim wear, etc.

I looked thru lost and found. This is whatI found that my dd had lost:

2 pair of shorts
2 shirts
1 underwear
2 swim suits
1 beach towel

I don't think we made it home with any of her bath towels. (Those things were wet and nasty in the lost and found so I didn't look too hard, plus I send our oldest towels and consider them disposable.)

When I picked her up I asked her if she lost anything. She said, "Yeah, my goggles but I found them in lost and found." :sad2: That child would lose her head if it wasn't attached. :lmao:

This week and next week my dd is doing a dance camp. It is only a day camp here in Little Rock. They dance from 10 to 5, they do jazz and ballet. They bring their lunch and all the girls eat together. During the afternoon, they have a break from dancing but have a "special" activity. Yesterday, it was how to put your hair up in a French Twist. Oh, my dd was so excited. She just loved that. Their were several ladies there. They may been from a salon, they worked with the girls to show them how to do it. I think my daughter liked that as much as she did the dance.

My son is just doing some tennis lessons this week and next. He is at the pool with a friend right now. Then they are going to church for their youth group tonight.

Tomorrow, both of my kids have eye appointments.

What are you guys up to this week?

Hi Shelly - We won't let this thread die...never!

I think your husband is wise about being shown around. It can be quite difficult getting around the LA area and seeing the different things with all the traffic, freeways and parking situations. If you plan it out right, you can see a lot of neat things out here.

Oh, BTW, I was talking to a few of the CM's and it looks like the YOMDs might continue into 2009. They said the guests really have liked it the promotion.

It is not impossible to go in the beach in the morning and be in the desert or the mountains in the afternoon.

Today is Toy Story Midway Mania media day. Lots and lots of tv and radio promotion this morning and all day. We saw a few of our CM friends on TV this morning so that was cool.

Glad you had a good time on our trip...looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Sea

Hey NC & Sea! :goodvibes

I can't believe your DD lost all those things NC! :rotfl: Although I'm sure my kids would do the same thing! I'm glad they had a nice time.

The boys started swim lessons at a local college today. Every morning for 2 weeks. We just got back from signing up for fall soccer. I can't believe sign-ups are so early!

Boy is it freezing outside. :( I can't believe it. It was 90 a few days ago and now it's 60. Why don't we ever get nice 75-80 degree weather??? Because Sea is hogging it all!! :lmao:

I heard that also Sea about the YOMD. I heard that it is going to be on a smaller scale though. I'm hoping that they will still be doing the Jedi Training Academy next year. DS9's certificate says YOMD on it, so I hope it continues on. DS6 really is hoping to be chosen next time! :wizard:

Nothing else going on around here. Just getting caught up on the laundry and cleaning after being away.

Hope everyone is doing well! :goodvibes

Here's another camp funny about my dd:

So we are eating lunch on the way home from camp and she says, "Hey, next year, I want to go to the 2 week camp. Can I go?"

My dh doesn't bat an eye and says, "Sweetie, you don't have enough clothes to go to camp for two weeks. You'd lose them all."

At two week camp, you pack clothes for one week and then do laundry half way through. She would never make it! :lmao:

I remember the fun of swimming lessons. I miss those days. Today I dropped my ds off at the pool with a friend. It is just so different.

Jo - Tomorrow is Wednesday..... :rolleyes1

Hiya Mayers :goodvibes

Just popping in to say "hi". I am so tired...long day, then I went for a haircut after work wayyyyy across town (my friend recommended the salon and they are really good), and I have a job interview tomorrow for a different department -- would be a promotion and pay a lot more, but I'm not optimistic, there is fierce competition. But at least I got called back for the second interview! So wish me luck...

We had a great time in Mendocino/Fort Bragg this weekend. It's been hot here in the valley, 90's, but it was about 70 for the high on the coast, and just gorgeous. We shopped and walked around town and hiked on the headlands and went tide pooling, and just had an all-around fun time. It was relaxing and exhausting at the same time, if that makes sense :confused3  Feel like I could sleep for days now...

NC, glad your kids loved camp :hyper: RF, the wedding pics are darling :goodvibes Can't wait to see your trip pics!

I had switched breakfast at 1900 PF for dinner at The Wave (makes more sense to have dinner at a monorail resort that day with our plans), but now of course I'm second guessing myself all over the place. It's gotten some great and some really not great reviews. *sigh* Don't know if I should keep checking to see what other dinners might be open that day. There weren't any openings at 1900 PF for dinner (which is what I originally wanted), so I'm not sure what other 1 TS restaurants near MK might have an opening. Probably none, since it's during free dining :rotfl2: Ah well, I'll just check back from time to time...

hey-

well, RF- your pics are beautiful! I love love love Hartwood Acres! That's about 3 minutes from the house we were renting in Fox Chapel. It's beautiful out that way. Your photographer ended up doing a good job.:thumbsup2

Katiebell- I am still thinking about my ADR's. So far we have a pretty good amount of them, but I haven't read any reviews of The Wave. I saw the menu and I'm not sure about it. Have you scheduled Cali Grill??? It's the best. Your vacation last weekend sound wonderful. Good luck with the job interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wizard: If it is meant to be, you will get it, I know.

Sea--- you stinker, you. Always getting cool stuff at DL and living the California Dream. Some friends of oursjust got back from a vacation to Laguna Beach- and they rented a car and drove Hwy 1 and went to Hearst Castle and to San Francisco. I was jealous. They had the best time.

NC--- awww, camp babies.:lovestruc Sounds like Little Miss would be running around naked if she went next year for 2 weeks, LOL. Glad they had a good time.
And yes it's Wednesday.:( We are 95% sure DH isn't getting the job. There are other issues playing into it, but I can't believe it--- they interviewed a lady and DH thinks she is the one that will get it. Diversity and all......:furious: She is an external candidate and it's really a bum deal. We don't know for sure 100%, but anyway- that's our feeling. So for now, we love Pittsburgh, LOL.;)

Mari- glad your party was good but that's sad it rained.:(

Huggie- where are you??????????? JC, same goes for you!!!!

Shelly- sounds like your vacation was fun. I've never been out that way---

Have a good day, MAYers. I'm meeting my g'friend today for lunch so we can gab about the non-job. :rotfl: I love it when you have a friend to commiserate with you.

TTYL-
Jo

hi all -

KB - goodluck with the interview today.

Jo - have fun at lunch. Sorry about the job well i don't know if you were happy with it or not. But you seem a little dissapointed. But they haven't told him no just yet. there is still a little hope.

Shelly - your mini vacations sounded great. I'm going to go to that area in PA. i haven't been to hershey park in forever and now i have other things to see around there.

NC - you DD sure does lose a lot of stuff. I tell you kids.... my DD is only 3 and she loses everything.

Nothing much happening today in my neck of the woods. Oh yeah my DD is going to summer camp this year. Not an overnighter or anything come on she is only 3. It's a day one but they take her to all sorts of places, baseball game, zoo's, aquariums etc. Let's see how it goes......

will check in later....
