oh i'm not even 100% sure if a WDW is in the works for me next year....

I'm sooo tired tonight! Lovin' the hair cuts, ladies! Great pics

Three days is enough time, but it's a lot more fun to have 5 days if you can manage it -- gives you some time to relax and play at the pool, etc. The thing about DL is you don't have to factor in the transportation -- bus to here, boat to there, monorail there, you can't get from here to there unless you stop at a resort or DTD... That was the hardest thing for me to figure out at WDW. Even for this trip, I'm trying to figure out if we leave Epcot and go hang out at Boardwalk for the evening, how in the heck will we get back to POFQ??? But, at DL, except for taking the monorail from DTD to MK...you pretty much walk everywhere. And you walk a lot. One trip, I wore a pedometer just for fun and one day we walked 17 miles!!! Now, granted, we really pushed it that day, and we go commando, open to close, and park hop back and forth...but still!

Katie - Take a taxi from Boardwalk back to your resort. It is painless! Budget around $20 for it.

You look very professional in your new haircut and you still have a lot of hair (says the girl with almost no hair :)) It's very cute!!!!

No smoke or anything like that here....still clear as can be

I saw them for the first time this season today when we were at DAK, they're still just the little ones, and it was only like 10 or 15 of them, but I know they're coming

I don't think you're quite that old....but those are some cute pics! The first one's pretty good considering we were standing basically in the dark when it was taken.

We were in the dark and family thinks if your eyes aren't closed that it's a good picture. My hair is a total mess. I look like I have been riding amusement park rides!

Need some help deciding....

Should I buy DVD players for the car for the trip down? We bought some for our trip in Nov but they broke after we got back and I took them back. At the time we needed the $$$ (Actually I blew it on after Christmas stuff), hey it was a need...

All the review that I found is that they usually break within a few months. Don't know if I want to chance it and get new ones or just suck it up and get plenty of stuff for them to do in the car. We have about a 7 hr ride. I don't know what to do?

Thanks for any help you can provide....

We have the dual DVD player froms Sam's! Best $$$ we ever spent.

Ohhhhh, I'd buy them. 7 hours is a long trip. Why not??/ The price has come way way down since a few years ago.

I have only had to buy two so far. The first one was an Eddie Baur and it broke within a year of purchase; we only used it on trips to SC from NY, so not very often.

I bought the second one at Target and it's just an off brand one- so far it's been working for 3 years- only using it on long trips. They also have the sound blocking earphones so I can still listen to my XM radio (news stations, lOL) and they don't yell that they can't hear.

On a side note- when our first one blew up, we were on a trip. Rather than stop, DH pulled out his laptop and they watched movies on that!

If you have one with the capability, maybe you could do that? I think DH had an inverter or something he used. I don't know- I'm not good with that stuff. DH always teases me b/c all I want to know electonically is where the on/off switch is and I want it to work when I push it.

Our converations go like this :
Mark:--"Hon, I'm thinking of buying a 52 inch plasma tv with blah blah blah and it costs blah blah blah and the screen would look like blah blah blah, so we could watch blah blah blah after the blah blah blah game comes on, what do you think, should I get it?

Me: "does it have an on/off switch I could push?"

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Headphones are very important for the sanity of the parents. :thumbsup2

There is some sort of thing that you plug into things to make them use your car battery for a power source rather than electricity. You can buy them at radio shack. We use it for the PlayStation to power it. I have burnt out two of those things. It smells like an electrical fire. My mom has been with me each time one of those burnt out. She always start screaming. "The car is on fire! Pull the car over. It's on fire!" :scared1:

No they don't have game systems... my DD is 6 and my Ds will be 3 in May (after we get back from Disney:yay: ) I have tried several times to get them for them but they don't seem too intersted. But that is an idea... maybe like the leapster or something I would spend about the same amount of $$$. I might try again. They love playing games on the computer (playhouse disney, webkinz, nickjr) so they have the skill. ummm..... thanks for the idea. We also have the fisherprice Fp3 player and portable cassette players. So I will definatly bring those. DD will also have her school work to work on on the way down and back. So she will/is easy. It is just entertaining my 2 almost 3 yr old.

We have not gotten our stimulus yet we are also originally scheduled for the 9th. Would be nice to have it for Disney.... too.... just a little extra.... I really need to pay some bills off....:rolleyes1

I bought my nephews, who are 4 years old, leapsters for Christmas. My dd had one when she was younger and loved it.

We bought a double dvd player for the car about 3 years ago. :goodvibes Best investment ever made!!! I think we paid like $200 for it back then. It is one of the systems with wires and plugs. It is powered from the cigarette lighter thingy in the car. So the wires and things are a pain, but it still works today! Right after we got it the prices started coming down on the portable ones. But this one works good and it came with 2 screens that attach to the back of the front seat headrests. I think it's Durabrand from WalMart.

We are scheduled to get our stimulus check deposited May 9!! :cool1:

This sounds like the player we bought at Sam's. My DS can plug his PS3 into one of the screens. (The screen that is not the DVD player) Somehow, he can watch a movie on his screen or play a PS3 game while my dd watches a different movie on her screen. Or they can watch the same movie that is playing in the DVD player.

Having a nearly teenage son is great as he knows how to set up this entire system in car. It is wonderful!

I am not a real techno savy person eather so... what is the best the leapster, lmax, or the vtech....

I don't know. We just did leapster. I liked it so much for my dd I bought it for my nephews.

I love Jungle Cruise. I am so bummed for you guys.

You aren't going to get to see the guy who got the point -

in the end.

Or

See Ginger the alligator.

Watch out! Ginger Snaps!

She is one tough cookie!

:lmao: You are too funny! Heck I feel gross too, have ever since hitting 30!! :rotfl: But that's not going to stop me from swimming on vacation!! Especially when it's already hitting 90 degrees down there! If people don't like what they see  they can look they other way!!

That is so cool about that guy Justin from Seven Fields. He's practically your neighbor! Maybe we will run into him at DHS! :wizard:

Just remember - Tan fat looks better than untanned fat and you'll be ok! :thumbsup2

Hi Sea-
How's Cali today???

It was snowing this morning in our town. LOVerly.
Just LOVERly.

J~

um----

January is good, but can be cold.

Novemeber is good, after Thanksgiving or the week before.

April could mean spring breakers.

You could go at Halloween.....
:rolleyes1 ;)

and do MNSSHP.

Or Sept and get free dining.

J~

I'm thinking nothing will feel cold to us in Januray!! :lmao:

Dh is the one who mentioned April, but we've recently heard it is pretty crowded. I think the weather would be perfect though!

I think November could be nice, but November 2009 is very far away. :sad2:

We went once in October and it was way to hot and crowded. I'm thinking September would be worse. Although free dining would be so nice!

Maybe we should just stick with MAY! :snooty: We'll see how it goes this year!

To me the best times of the year to come are from the middle of April to the middle of June - also I really like the Christmas season, from Thanksgiving to New Years because they transform the HM to Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas, Small World Holiday and of course the parade, park decorations, reindeer, shows and all the yummy food.

You might want to consider visiting Knott's Berry Farm one day since it is only 5 miles away from DL. Universal Studios is about 45 miles away from DL.

Hey Sea! When's the best time to come to DL?

We had perfect weather, but it was more crowded. It didn't effect us much as we know what we want to ride and when we want to ride it. You wouldn't believe the amount of clueless people walking around WDW who have no idea what they are doing.

The only day the "crowd" really got to us was AK day. I was behind ds, and dd at the rope drop. When the rope dropped, dh, dd, and ds all took off. Somehow I was suddenly 5 people behind them. Then dd starting filtering back and I tried to jockey so that I could "catch" her as she was bounced back toward me. She looked like a pinball being bounced from bumper to bumper. People were really pushing and bumping. When you weigh 60 lbs. soaking wet and are built like a twig, you just can't hang with that crowd.

Afterward, I said, "I think people were a little bit pushy today."

She said, "A little bit? I thought it was a lot!"

It was the worst we have ever experienced at park opening or closing. My dh and ds commented on it that day too!

We finally cooled off, it is about 65 and we have a marine layer, so that will burn off before noon. I think it will get no higher than 72 or 73.
