JO - One of DH's co-workers told him that the Mars school band will be in WDW sometime the beginning of May. And that SV band will be there sometime mid-May. Have you heard anything like that???

Yep- the games are on saturday mornings- anywhere form 8:30- 10:30. Which I am happy about- we are early risers, so we can get the game over with and still have the afternoons free.

I don't know if I'd like Sundays or not. I think it would feel rushed going from church to lunch to the game. But Mark doesn't work on Saturdays, so that's why it works best for us.

I didn't realize so many people work on Saturdays! Does your DH work every Saturday? that must be awful on you.

Where we used to live soccer was on Sat. mornings, and yes it was nice to have to done before noon and have the rest of the weekend free. But DH could hardly ever go.

Yes, he works nearly every Sat. morning. It stinks, but he's usually home by noon.

Sunday games aren't bad. I didn't think we'd like it as first, but it has actually worked out well. Our church has early service - 9:30. So we are home by 10:45 and then we have time for a little rest and lunch before we head out to soccer at 1:15.

Yay for the ticker!!!!!! I am very jealous!:)

As far as the Sunday games- that doesn't sound bad- they start at a good time. We usually go to our 11 am service at church but have been talking about going to the 9:30 one.
If we ever do the traveling team, I guess we'd have to start going to the Saturday night service.

I think the parade that has the band is the 3pm parade in the MK. The band will come through about 10 minutes before the start of it. We've seen a couple of bands while waiting. I don't know of any other bands at any other parks.

I have to go make the sick one toast. TTYL-

WOW a whole lot of soccer talk.... Boo for me... I have a DD that doesn't play sports but if she ever does i think it will be football or baseball... my nephew and little brother are int the local town league.... She LOVES watching them play and yells out their names when they play... she also boo's if we do....

Lots of girls play soccer Mari! In fact 3 of the 6 players on DS6's team are girls. And 4 of the 10 on DS8's team are girls. A lot of them are better than the boys! :goodvibes

DS8 tried t-ball when he was about 5 and he was bored to tears! :rotfl: Too much standing around for him I guess. He likes to keep moving, that's why soccer is so great for him!

DS6 wants to try t-ball this summer. He'll probably like it. He has a lot more patients than his older brother! :rotfl:

DS's friends just got here for a playdate. They are playing Star Wars! Oh my, they are so funny. All I hear is - R2, R4 (who the heck is R4 anyway???:lmao: ), Luke, Darth Vader, blah blah blah!!! :rotfl:

I have been lurking yesterday and today.

I had the craziest day Tuesday afternoon.

I am home doing a few things before I pick up the kids for their orthodontic appointments.

The phone rings and it is my next door neighbor. She is calling to ask if i noticed a strange car in the driveway of the house on the other side of her house with 4 men in it. I open my blinds and I don't see the car. It is gone.

We start chit chatting and suddenly she yells....The car is back. The doors of the car are open. Where are the men?!! Where are they? Where are they? Where are they? She then yells, I am calling Rick. Call 911.

She calls Rick (who is a minister at our church) on his cell phone and says, "Rick are you home?" Rick says, "Nope." She yells, "Come home, your getting robbed!" Click! She hangs up.

Meanwhile, I am calling 911. About the time the operator gets on the phone with me, I see 2 of the guys running out to car with an arm load of electronics and they throw them in the backseat and run back in for more. Then the other two guys come out carrying the big screen TV. The car is only a 2 door car. They try to cram the TV in backseat but it won't fit. Then they decide to put it in the trunk, but they can't find their keys to open the trunk. Finally, they find their keys and open the trunk but the trunk won't close with the TV in it. Then the other guys come back out with more stuff. They jump in car and drive off.

I am freaking out as I think that Rick's 90 year old mother in law is in the house. She doesn't drive any more. Thank God she was out of town visiting one of their grandkids that day! No telling what would have happened to her.

As the guys drive off, I am telling 911 that the police can't miss the car as it has a TV hanging out of the trunk.

An off duty police officer who lives out here heard the call on his radio and started over here and located the car and followed it to a nearby nursing home. The guys jump out and dump the TV as it is busted. Then turn around and come back to our neighborhood. The police stopped them at our neighborhood entrance and arrested them! The guys said since the TV was busted, they were coming back to get more stuff!!!:scared1:

Can you believe that? I am so glad the police caught them.

Yesterday I fielded calls all day from our neighbors about the incident. Geez!!!

FYI - The guys simply kicked the front door in. It was crazy and scary at the same time!!!

OH MY GOD NC - I would have been freaking out.... thank god your neighbor noticed it. It's scary especially since it was right accross the street from you... i'm glad that they caught them....
