Welcome Cowgirlroy!! Looking forward to talking about this cruise. You seem like a cruise vet so I will definitely be picking your brain!!

Haha, well this will be my third cruise with Disney. But first time on a new bigger ship. Not really sure what to expect, but I'll help out where I can.

Welcome to the cruise, happy to know someone else celebrating their anniversary. I would expect you to love the cruise, this one is our second. We took a 3-night Wonder cruise and it was very quick, so we are looking forward to the 7-nights.

Thanks

This will be the first cruise for my DD (turning 12 during the cruise) and I. Not sure yet whether we'll be taking any friends/family along but are having a blast planning already. :cool1:

Our friends and my wife and myself usually cruise in September or October, but thought that we would give the month of May a shot. Looking forward to meeting everyone and hope that a good time is had by all. We also leave the kids and grand kids at home as this is our time to relax and recharge our batteries so to speak.

We have a cruise aboard the RCCL Freedom of the Seas sailing out of Port Canaveral on the 27th of March 2011. This will gives us a peek at the Disney Dreams in the berth next to us.

I just put down my deposit for the May 12th sailing of the Fantasy and am so excited to be joining all of you!

This is the first cruise ever for me (Amanda, 31) and my partner (Carrie, 32).

I've been to WDW too many times to count and C has gone with me a few times (which she would say is a few times too many). She is not the biggest fan of Disney, although I have some WDW vacation photos that prove she at least had kind of a good time.

Anyway... because of the lack of Disney-love from my partner, I had to promise that we wouldn't go to WDW again for a few years. But then it occurred to me... she never said that we couldn't go on a Disney cruise!

So after a little bit of serious campaigning, here we are.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you in the months leading up to our trip. Yee-Haw!

I am sorry to hear that your partner is not a Disney Fan. My DH loves Disney and looks forward WDW every year for our anniversary I am actually surprised he agreed to a Cruise instead of usual WDW trip to be honest. He loves the characters and the rides. He wears character shirts a lot. Maybe you can turn her over to the Disney side. :rotfl:

While I am a Disney fan I would also say that the Disney cruise is not over the top dis... You can easily get away from the characters etc, especially if you stay in the adult only areas. The Fantasy (and Dream) cruise liner is a classic design with Disney touches. Areas like the spa and the adult dinning are really elegant with subtle dis touches. Some of the main dining areas, especially animators palate scream Disney and you are immersed in it for the entire meal, but even if you are not the biggest Disney fan you just gotta be impressed and ask "how did they do this". And the expressions on all the kids faces during the dinner "show" at Animators just makes me smile... The Enchanted Garden does not have any Disney characters but is a cool place to eat, again does not scream Disney. The Royal Palace (at least that is the name on the Dream) is elegant and again does have Disney touches but you have to look for them (ie glass slippers on the chandelier)

So, Amanda... Carrie should have a GREAT time! My wife and I (just a couple years older, no kiddies) both agree that we would take a Disney Cruise over any of the Cruise lines we have tried.. This will be our 7th Dis cruise.

If you are looking for an adult only couple to go through the rotation dinning with maybe we can hook that up and get a table for 4.
Joe

Thanks Joe, for the reassurance.

The funny thing is that both of us always thought that we'd never have any interest in going on a cruise... especially a Caribbean cruise. It just seemed a little too touristy somehow. So the fact that I was pushing for a DCL cruise made it even harder for C to jump on the wagon.

I'm sure we're both gonna have a blast and I think part of what finally convinced C to go was the fact that there were a lot of adult-only options and places to get away. I've made promises of massages and snorkeling and yoga on the beach. And the food on the ship was definitely a major selling point.

Now that I've reread my previous post, I should probably clarify that C is a very accommodating person, and despite the fact that she is not a huge Disney fan, I'm very lucky that she's always supported my own love of the parks. She is just one of those silly people that would rather go to France than the French Pavilion at Epcot. (I mean c'mon... isn't it pretty much the same thing!?!?!)

Joe, we would definitely consider dining with you guys, if possible. You're the veteran cruiser, so you'll have to let me know how we make that happen. Thanks.

Oh Amanda and Carrie, you gals sound to cute. My fiance (mike 26) and me (rachel 26) have gone on 2 cruises. It is kinda funny. We went to Disney back in 2008 for the first time and we both got hook to Disney again. We love the parks. Just too much fun. It was last year I decided to try something new and we cruised on the Wonder in April. Mike told me it was our last trip for a while. But I got greedy and took it upon myself to get him on another cruise. I won later that year when I got him on the New Years sail. What can I say...

I think you both will enjoy it. It isn't so "Disney". You'll have a great time. Plus your with Disers so we are an added bonus anyway. :goodvibes

Hi! My name is Jenn and I just put down our deposit today with SWV for this cruise. My dh (Steve) and I have only cruised once and that was years ago on our honeymoon. We will be cruising with our kids - Rachel who will be 10 almost 11 on the trip, and Ethan who will be 8. We are so excited! We haven't told the kids yet as it is way too long to hear, "how long until we cruise?"!!!! It would be great to hook them up with some other kids their age to help them have more fun in the clubs.

Hi Fellow Cruisers~

My Partner Lori and I booked this cruise while on the Wonder in December, which was our first Disney Cruise. Before this sailing we will be doing a 4 Night on the Dream in October of this year. We are excited to spending 7 Nights aboard the New Fantasy in the warm Western Caribbean.

Looking forward to joining this tread and any FE Exchanges that will be planed.

~Renee

:banana:Hello to all !!! My name is Kristen and this will be our 2nd Disney cruise:thumbsup2. We had such a great time on our last cruise we are bringing along some more family and friends this time around! So in our cabin you have Me Kristen, DH Mike, DD10 Courtney, DD7 Hailey, & DS4 Landon. In the adjoining cabin you have my dad Mike, My stepmom Patty, brother 11 Caleb, & and my sister 8 Emmy. In the cabin down the hall you have my good friend Karen, her mother and her daughter. I love all things Disney and drive my family nuts with my over compulsive planning:surfweb:! Last year we went to Disney World for 14 days and spent the whole year planning, making and over packing for the trip but at the end we all had a blast!!!!! On our last cruise I started the roll call and kept the first post up to date with all the info about our cruise. I also organized the FE exchange……. So if all don’t mind I thought that I would get that started here! I will post right after this and ask the moderators to move it to the 1st post so that you don’t have to hunt to find the info! I look forward to getting to know you all and planning over the next year!:grouphug:

Austin and Tracey checking in, 30 somethings. Will be with our 4 year old daughter Bailey and her grandmomma Phyllis. Can't wait. Been on 2 cruises but never Disney.

DisneyMommy1022/Kristen - I sent you a PM about the FE.:cool1: Hope you got it! We'll be in room 8186.

I can't believe we still have over a year before this cruise - I hear about it on a daily basis from my DD who will be 11 next month :goodvibes She is really looking forward to the excursions, meeting other kids and hanging out at Edge but the main thing she talks about is what gifts we should give for the Fish Extender. We were at Michaels on Saturday picking up some supplies for Girl Scouts and she was trying to pick out stuff for next year's FE rather than for that afternoon's scout meeting. :goodvibes I hope that there is a lot of interest in the FE on our cruise - sounds like lots of fun from what I've read.

We haven't told the kids yet as it is way too long to hear, "how long until we cruise?"!!!! It would be great to hook them up with some other kids their age to help them have more fun in the clubs.
Does anyone have any ideas from prior DCL experiences about connecting kids with other dis kids before or early into the cruise so that they know some other kids at the clubs?

Update:

Changed cruise . Me and DH will no longer be sailing on the Fantasy May 12, 2012.

A change of plans we are now sailing on the Magic 5 Night Bahamas May 9, 2012.
