Yes Frontier Days is big doings, today is an airshow with teh Thinderbirds, after the big free pancake breakfast. Local emergency folks use the breakfast as practice to feed the masses.

can someone please tell me the hours for the currency exchange on the boat (we are on the westbound ta). any guess--will it be open on the first day in barcelona? was there a daily limit/limit per cabin as to how much you can exchange for euros? thanks

Man, do I love the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels! That sounds really fun.

Hadley, sounds like your summer is turning into more social work than anything else! Very funny about the work lady:laughing:

Connie, sounds like you are the world traveller this year!

Padalyn, sounds like you had a great trip. I really thought I'd get over there at least twice to see you guys. How was the GC? Did you have a favorite restaurant while here?

We're still overhauling the office here and have gone through almost 2000 articles about drugs, drugs and the brain and drug behavior from the past year. I'm about to start doing a massive amount of writing... I'll be at my desk for months typing, but the good and interesting kind of work. My brain should be bulging by the time I'm done. By the way I'm very interested in all information from your home town areas about what drugs are popular and what kids and adults are "into" in your area. Do send me anything that could represent drug information or questions about drugs and behavior? We're are working really hard on our answers to parents and kids questions for our book and radio show. Don't worry everyone I will not be answering Q's here, but am interested in the actual questions. Thanks guys!

We actually found Cafe Orleans worth a repeat visit. The menu was limited, but the quality was better than most of the park food, and I really loved the Monte Cristo, and Seafood crepes!!

Scott - the idea of using a free breakfast to practice mass feedings!! How funny is that!! All the folks here do is go to the soup kitchens for a day or two of training...talk about combat pay!

The pancake breakfast was amazing, They fed 10,000 plus people in about 30 - 40 min. They really have it down, I will post photos as I left them on the work computer before the air show. And the food was good pancakes, ham, coffee.

The Thunderbirds ROCK!!!!

One of the solo members did a low and fast fly over, It was KEWL as it set off car alarms in the parking lot. LOL

Great Pictures Scott! THe Cleveland Air Show is Labor Day weekend and is a great show. I am 6 miles from the airport as the crow flys, and they usually turn at my house. I think that this year is the Blue Angels turn. Last year the Thunderbirds were here.

Hey Connie how is Patrick? A while back you had some concerns.

Hadley! - I read your final report on D on the other thread. You really have to be commended for probably changing his life. Hopefully he will take what gifts you gave him and do something with it. And now a German exchange student!! You are a SAINT!

Padalyn - Glad to hear it was a good trip.

Seems like so many are having some great trips this summer. I have nothing planned until October when we are going to Las Vegas (only thing I am looking forward to there is hopefully seeing Scoobypop!). WDW in December.

Debbie

Well... the Gibratar saga continues!

With some help from Brisully and his recommendation of Lexar Image Rescue, I was able to recover SOME of the Gibraltar pics. Unfortunately none from the top itself or the monkeys :( Still do not know what happened. I was able to recover ALOT of photos that had been taken on that card, just not those. It was weird.

So now you all get to live through a ton of pics from Gibraltar :)

That is all. Recovered a few more than these, but not to bore you :). I am happy I was able to recover what I did. Just sad about the ones I lost.

Well, Jessica left for Greece, Italy, and France for three weeks at 3:30 this morning. Wow - it's finally here. What ever am I going to do?

Lori

Great pictures Scott and Debbie!
Lori - I'm sure you will find something to do to keep you busy.

More bicycle miles for me this weekend. Got a 100 mile ride coming up in a few weeks. That will tell me if I'm ready for the Arthritis Ride.

We have a similar situation. We are near a major road that goes north from the Miramar Airforce Base. At the end of that road is a canyon. We are close to that. During the air show the Blue Angels use this intersection as a turning point. We have lots of pictures of them flying over our back yard. One year I got a picture of four of them turned on their sides just over our back yard fence. We also have lots of pictures of the stealth fighter.

Scott--Fun pictures. Thanks for posting.

Debbie--Thanks for the memories of Gibraltar. I am glad you were able to get at least SOME of those photos back:) Also, thanks for the nice comments about D. We are really looking forward to Selina's arrival. She is the 7th student we have hosted through a program at David's employer (all of the students have parents or grandparents who work for the same compnay and the company pays their airfare and spending $$ and covers the cost of admission for anywhere we take the students, etc.). Of the 6 we have already had all but one have been great experiences, so the odds are in our favoure.

Lori--grouphug: It must be hard to see her go.

Ken--ride safely (no more close encounters with cars oaky?)

Deanna, I was so excited to read about your trip! Sounds amazing. And now you must be getting ready for the Transatlantic again! When is that exactly? I still feel like we just got off the ship.

Debbie--YEP!!!! We'll be here in October, will very much look forward to visiting with you! BB will be done and Top Chef too, so we'll have to dish on our favorites and not so favorites. Thanks for more photos posted!

Hadley--Oh my gosh, now a foreign exchange student?! Wow, what a summer for your family!

Kelly--Feelin for ya digging through 2000 articles with the office in shambles. Once we figure out the plans for September, will drop you an email! It's coming up soon!

Cayla--Love the Monte Cristo. Used to be only at Blue Bayou, now they have it at Cafe Orleans, and aren't there 3 choices now too?!

I'm still reading even if I'm not posting every day! Miss you all, have a great weekend!

Lori

Lori, What is Jessica doing there? Is it a school or club trip?

Hey all - thanks for the pictures. It's fun to see what other people saw even though we were all at the same stop.

All this Monte Christo talk is making me drool. Can you believe I haven't been to DL since April? It's 90 degrees there today - YUK.

Susie: I'll bet that is loud!

Thanks for asking about Patrick. He isn't complaining as much about his head as before. I take him to the neurologist next Wed. to find out what the MRI results are. Since there doesn't seem to be any emergency about it, I think the results are fine. I might be muscle tension. CP kids have such tight muscles. Could be his neck, not his head. Otherwise, he's fine. Chuck went to visit our friends in Devon, England for 3 weeks, so I am a single mother! Thank goodness our son Mike is here on the weekends, and I have a caregiver to fill in when I need him during the week, although I can handle Patrick fine by myself, but I want to go to my women's meeting! We are making a meal supplied by "Let's Eat!" where you go to make up meals to take home and put in your freezer. Their food is so good!

We are so excited around here in Hunter's Creek......we are FINALLY getting to be a regular town, with shopping, and restaurants of our own!

As for our Relay for LIfe team name I was thinking about the HCWA Hope Team or HCWA Angels. What does everybody think? We are going to make a Hope Garden with big pink bows on handles and put donor's names on them. It will be very pretty next to our booth. We'll sell labels for the "Hope Flowers" and list all the donor's names on a big board.

So I am kind of leaning toward "HCWA Hope Team".

So, anyone doing anything fun today. I did yardwork and washed windows - what a thrill.

Put in some miles today on my mountain bike - my road bike is down for repairs. The mountain bike is just so slow. :confused3
