We're home!!! I still feel like I'm on the ship. I just keeping rolling and rolling. I wonder when it'll stop?? We got home last night. We flew Swiss Air to Zurich. I highly recommend Swiss Air - nice wide seats. We didn't have any trouble at BCN but we got there 3 hours early. We spent a wonderful week in Switzerland trying to find Heidi before we came home. Our flight home on United went smoothly. I just can't get my body back on our time zone. I woke up that last Saturday morning on the ship with a cold. I lived on Tylenol and Hall's cough drops for 4 days before I felt better. I think a lot of us caught it.
What wonderful, wonderful memories - they'll last a lifetime. I met so many wonderful people. The cruise was fantastic but the disboarders made it so special. I tend to lurk so I didn't meet everyone but the ones I did meet were the BEST. Special thanks to Linda for getting us all organized and calling our staterooms to remind us of times and everything else she did. All of you who contributed to the lanyards - they were great and what a big hit on the ship. Thank you so much for providing them for so many of us.A sweet lady from Toronto asked me where I got mine. I explained to her about the Disboard group providing them under Ken's excellent leadership. She told me she had gone into the shop to buy one and the shop manager told her that Disney didn't sell them that it was a "special" group on board. I told her I would give her my husband's lanyard (yes, I did have a husband even though he was never with me) as he didn't wear his. She was so pleased with the lanyard. We exchanged e-mail addresses so I'm hoping I have a new friend in Toronto. I loved all the little gifts. I'm just like a little kid. I guess that's why I love Disney so much - I couldn't wait to get back to our room to see what was in my fish extender. Brooklyn, how in the world did you get all you got done before the cruise and still manage to get us all a big candy bar with fantastic pictures on it. The wrapping is on my fridge. I still chuckle when I think of your Marine husband pushing the stroller full of candy bars while you were checking off cabin numbers as you delivered them.
Debbie - the pictures are super. I enjoyed meeting you and your Mom. You and Linda are definitely our "Rachel". You kept us all going.
Susie - tea was fun. I was so glad you went with me. Good luck with your new career. I hope you can guide a group to Switzerland as it was absolutely gorgeous. I would love to be a travel guide there. Good to hear about your grandson and glad your husband survived without you.
Every evening I looked for Erik and Jason and Rob and Chris when it was picture time - just to check out the ties and great outfits. You guys really know how to dress. You all take great pictures (model types) - hope you bought a lot of them.
Deanna - You are so talented. Sometimes you meet someone who just sticks in your mind and you are that kind of person. You are an amazing lady and what a great Mom. Every excursion we took your boys were so good. All of our excursions were great. I was so pleased with all of them. I'm sure you and your girls will have a great time together - whatever cruise you take. The other cruisers better watch out - you make fantastic "potato race cars" and you look pretty "hot" as a pirate. Yes, I'm e-mailing the shop girl (Sophia) in Gibraltar. She is such a Disney fan - she is craving Cinderella things so we'll send a care package soon. Hopefully, she can someday come to Disneyworld and spend some time with us. If you get to Orlando please PM me and I'll treat you to tea at the Grand.
It was great that Carolyn (First Timer's) got to dance on talent night. I thought she did a great job representing our group. I sure used their survival kit - how unique!!
Thanks to all who played my trivia game - it was fun. My husband would have killed me if I had tried to bring home those candy globes. Kelly, when life settles down for you I'll get in touch so maybe you can give me pointers about bringing my 5 year old grandson to
Disneyland next May.
We cruise at Christmas with our family - neither my daughter or I want to spend the holidays in the kitchen so we let Disney do the cooking for us. I still have my fingers crossed that in December they announce that the Magic will go to Alaska in 2009. I'm sure Captain Tom is tired of me "bugging" him with that question. I'm sure I asked about the Magic going to Alaska at least 5 times on the cruise.
If any of you you get to Disneyworld drop me a PM and if there is anything I can help you with I will try to do it. It was great meeting so many of you.
