Hi Smores, well we still don't know about pirate night - we're hoping they let us know before we leave!

Ken, ended up staying home - wish we would have gone!!! I ended up having much more work on my desk than expected, so we got out and did some gardening in the warmth of the afternoon. :sad1: But it was good work:rolleyes: Also, got the packet and was thrilled, thrilled, thrilled!

Debbie: I'm working on my fish extender!

Also, is anyone thinking about making a big banner for our departure?

BTW: I now have about 8 planning guides, so if anyone hasn't received one yet, I'll be selling them on ebay:rotfl2:

for those with DISNEY AIR...

when will you get your flight info?

The sheet that said which day we had to make final payment and which day we could make reservations online said that flight information may be available online beginning March 28th. We'll see if that holds true since everything with Disney is subject to change. :rolleyes1

for those with DISNEY AIR...

when will you get your flight info?
I think I saw someplace that they provide the flight info 30 days prior to flight out.

Ken

We are doing the Disney Air.
When we tried to make a change, we were told that we would be notified 45 days in advance of the cruise as to what the flights would be.
The change we wanted? We thought when we did the original reservations that we were flying in the day before. When we got our confirmation, we are flying in the day of the cruise. $$$$ to make a change. So as of right now, we are flying in the day of the cruise. Sorry Scott, will be missing the wine and cheese thingie again.

OH MY....that sucks not only for missing the wine and cheese event but if I was flying in on the day OF the sailing I'd be so stressed out about delayed or cancelled flights or something! I travel quite a bit for work and lately I've been having very bad luck with both planes and trains! :sad2:

Hi Smores, well we still don't know about pirate night - we're hoping they let us know before we leave!

rotfl2:

Talked to DCL today, the CM told me they should get the info on which night is pirate night about 30 days out before we sail. I said "now we will be able to see POC III since it premieres while we are on ths ship...right?"

She said the others have been on, so she would think this one would be too. That would be kewl if they put it on the jumbotron and if it coincided with pirate night. How kewl would that be?

Well I have 2 theories on Pirate night....I suspect it's going to be either the 2nd or 3rd night of the cruise (so that the Pirates of the Caribbean party happens while we're actually IN the CAribbean)....OR it'll get held off and coincide with the onboard debut of the film....now we just have to guess what night that will be!

What are the other them dinners they do? Formal night, 2 semiformal nights, Pirates night...and what else? I thought I read something about an "It's a Small World" dinner night that has food from around the world on all one menu or something???

:tigger:

Erik

Well Disney appears to have finally gotten their act together. We're finally able to get into the online booking system for excursions, etc. Only took a week. After the 36 hours of frustration last weekend nice to know somebody was paying attention.

Hopefully this bodes well for booking online for the 1st Med next weekend.

Have a good weekend.

Bob

what is this wine and cheese event???

Tropicalifragilisticexpealidoecius (sp?) night
Golden Mickey's (probably formal night)
we had the Mickey Mouse Club Night
Til We meet again menu

"Tropicalifragilisticexpealidoecius (sp?) night"

Erik, this is tropical dress (which is all we own out here in the OC!)

Fish extenders: hang off your fish for extra mail and notes. Type in fish extenders into your search and you'll see pictures of them.

OK so nobody answered the banner post I asked about... who made the Panama Canal banner and how was it made? Also, are we allowed to bring beach balls to toss down to deck 9 for the sailing?

We've done the fly in the day of the cruise before. Worked out fine. Just would rather have gotten in the day before.

Ah yes, Tropical Night! :thumbsup2
Hope they have Ben and Dana in the Prominade Lounge again doing the Buffett tribute. It was a lot of fun on the 11 night!
Another reason to wear the grass skirts.

Linda - Seaulater - made the banner! Literally as they were leaving the hotel to come to the port! Many people on the ship thought it was a DCL creation :rotfl: Even the crew pointed it out when it was rolled out at the sailaway party. That was just the begining of the "legend of the lanyard people.":rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Not sure about the beach balls.

Debbie

Hey Linda, what did you do bring a roll of paper or tape a bunch of pieces together?:confused3 It looked really long, how long was it?

Can't see why we couldn't bring beach balls. As long as we blow them up AFTER we get on board!;)

As far as beach balls go....I imagine the worst they could do to you is say "Please don't throw beach balls down onto all the fun loving folks below who are dancing and enjoying playing with them" hehehe :rotfl2:

As for the banner idea.....I bet a banner is something that could be done even on one of those rolls of table covering that you can buy in any party store....or even out of a long piece of fabric. When I was in college our student union building was basically two 5 story buildings about 75 feet apart and that gap between the buildings was completely glass enclosed creating huge atrium and cutting across that atrium from building to building were a bunch of bridges at different levels. Student groups on campus used to paint banners and signs to hang off the edges of the bridges and we always did it by buying cheap white or colored sheets at Walmart and then just painting them with a brush using stencils or free-hand......if we wanted to do something long and thin we could cut sheets up the middle and serge the ends of them together if anyone had a serger (which I do, actually)....it would be really short work I bet!

:tigger:

Erik

oh and p.s.....what exactly is tropical wear? PLEASE tell me it doesn't mean I'm going to ahve borrow a terrible hawaiian shirt from my father to wear!
