Same office, different division, they would invest about two years of training. Would involve a move to Cheyenne. Would mean 5 years till retiement instead of 1. Making some more calls today and we will see.

Bonzie1 - Glad to hear you are feeling better! I've been sick my entire life and it is a large personal bummer! I'm so sick of being sick!! It's frustrating when you're forced to take it easy when you don't want to!!!

Thanks, we are glad too, lol. I think you are your hubby are two that we did not meet on the Panama cruise. Very strange, as we hung with the same crowd, but still, didn't meet. This time for sure!

I know... isn't it funny! I know it's a BIG ship, but not THAT BIG! We'll be on the lookout this time!

Any thoughts on how many days would be good for DLP? I was hoping they would just come up with a "standard" package with train and even passage to the airport. What airport should we look into if we do decide to go to DLP?

Hi Cheryl & Bob! It's so great to be cruisin with you again! Since DCL doesn't have us line up to board anymore (they do number groups now and everyone just hangs out in the lobby), maybe we can wait together in the pin line this time...

We are booked, I just haven't posted yet because DH is still not too crazy abou the 6 days at sea. But I have a year to convince him! It's not because he thinks he will be bored, PC repo days at sea were awesome! He gets sea sick and he doesn't want to be miserable for 6 days, especially for the $$ we are paying. If anyone has already sailed across the Atlantic please let me know your experience.

Georgie, based on my thoughts and experience at DLP, I would say three days to do DLP in a comfortable manner, It could be done in two. Summer is the busy season for DLP adn the weeknds are much busier than the weekdays.

Hey all....regarding the days at sea....I have never sailed across the Atlantic, but when I was a teenager my father got stationed in Okinawa, Japan and we were supposed to fly from LA to Anchorage to Honolulu to Okinawa....but my DM (I assume that means mother right? I'm really not up on all the DH, DS, etc. acronyms...but I'm figuring they're references to family members *lol* )...anyhow my Mom decided it would be a more exciting experience to turn the move into a mini-vacation and instead cruise from CA to HI then fly to Japan.....now grantad CA to HI isn't the same distance as crossing the Atlantic but it IS a long cruise with several consecutive days at sea...and assuming/hoping for good weather days at sea can be a hoot! Lots of time in the sun, very relaxing and I have no fear that Disney will have a lack for fun/interesting things to do!


Also, Debbie----thanks for adding Jason and I to the roster...if you want to include our hometown, we're in Rochester, NY.

Hi Erik, Somewhere there is a link to the abbreviations - anyone know that link? I made a copy of it and put into word to pull up when I need it. Did you see my post that you are in our old room from our first cruise? It's a great room, very quiet! One goofy thing that you'll get used to if they haven't fixed it... there is a flex in the floor as you go from the bathroom to the bed. I would hit it only when our little girl was asleep and it would make a little booming thump sound. We loved the fresh air and yet private balcony. DH (husband would read out there until all hours of the night. We dried our clothes without worry about them flying off the balcony, ate meals, DD (2 at the time) painted pictures, we watched movies out there on our little DVD player. You'll love it. Kelly

Yup, two parks at DLP, a Magic Kingdom and a Studios, as well as a Down Town Disney area( shops and resturants). Don't know about weather. we were there on cold rainy days in Jan. Rain did not deter folks from going to the parks.

Yes I obviously need to learn the lingo. I figured the H was husband, the S is son, the D daughter, M mom, F father (??), W wife, etc....but what does the D stand for?

And Yes I saw your post about being in your old room...that's ironic and fun! I'm glad that you think the room is a good one...we usually stay in Cat. 6 with a "real" verandah but this time decided that the difference in expense was worth downgrading a bit since the cruise itself is so expensive...but we knew we couldn't go to an inside stateroom or a porthole/window room because I need the fresh air and light! On our Feb. cruise I even slept with teh door open a crack some nights to let in fresh air!

funny, too that there was a bow in the floor because on our last Wonder cruise in Feb. we had a bow in the floor right in front of the TV/Vanity and it made a loud bang, too that I'm sure the people below us thought we were coming through their roof any second!

But it seems like we got a good cabin, a good group of travelers...so we're excited. I went online last night and ordered travel and tourism brochures for the Canary Islands, Gibraltar, and Barcelona....so we're already getting really excited....I'm a big animal lover (AK is by far my favorite park....even BEFORE Everest opened!) so I am all giddy to see the Gibraltar apes and migratory birds....woo hoo!!!

Sad day yesterday....because of an incorrect age estimate and, therefore, incorrect eventual size estimate, I had to retire Little Bee in favor of a big 2-year old galoot without a real name...He's a Lab/Golden retriever mix...very sweet and has gone by the name of Duke, of all things...Nyet, I say, although he sort of responds when called Duke. The only thing I can think of right now that sounds like Duke is, of course, not very respectable for a Service Dog and starts with the letter P... so I'm soliciting suggestions for a new name....

Something that will sound nice with Cash, not a people name, although I briefly entertained the name Charlie, and something not too hard for people to understand after asking me his name, which will happen a zillion times during his working life...He's coal black, very handsome, and, unfortunately, knows nothing of commands like sit, etc, etc, etc... What a drag...I just got through teaching Little Bee all that stuff, too...Well, one good thing...Cash doesn't seem to want to eat him...sigh...

Erik, the "D" stands for Dear for some (I am my hubby's DW - Dear Wife), for me it stands for Disney (my Disney Hubby, Disney Daughter, etc) and for others it can stand for Darn (DMIL) It is kind of nice to have a fill in the blank "D".

Lynda, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, I'll put some thought into it and my best friends daughter is a nut about dogs and is especially interested in service dogs. She may have a good name.

On a more serious note...I have a tendency to choose Disney names for my pets. We currently have a Noble Macaw (small breed of parrot) who is gorgeous and is named Sarabi. That, of course, is Simba's mother's name in The Lion King (and is also, I've learned, Swahili for "illusion"). There's tons of great Disney names.....I'd usually tend towards the more unique names.....like Merlin, Mowgli, Mufasa, (I don't know why those are all M names...just coincidence).


And thanks for the further eduction on the D--- thing....it took me forever to figure out what DMIL was...but Darn Mother-In-Law?? Too funny.

Ok first thing I thought of was Cash & Carry, but I'm liking Cash or Charge better now! Sorry to hear about Little Bee though. That must have been hard. We had a black dog named Shadow, but it sounded a lot like "NO" so that didn't work very well.

As for the "D" it can have different meaning for me at different times. Such as DH is bringing supper home tonight or DH forgot to take the trash out I like the versatility and the ambiguity!

I would love to do DLP after our cruise, but it is not likely to happen. DH is not going to be able to take any more time of work, and DD12 and DD10 will definitely not be OK with mom, dad and little sis (DD2) going to DLP without them. They already think it is scandalous that we are going to take a cruise without them! That pesky "school thing" ...
