Hey all!
Sorry we missed you, Padalyn, but we knew you were very busy with the pin event (and WOW those pin people are hardcore!! There were so many of you with SOOOO many pins! Kind of made us feel like we were missing out on all the fun! :goodvibes ).

Erik - you are not kidding!! I had my luggage packed solid with 37 pounds of pins...and I am a lightweight!!!

I did a lot of trading at the tables (they set up row after row of tables to trade with other collectors) I chose not to roam the tables this year - I sat and waiting for the roamers to come to me!

We did one day of what is called board trades - wait in a long line to have one minute to swap two pins off the board....took 8 hours to do 6 boards....I got a few good new traders that way - but I think I prefer the tables.

Just so you all are aware - on Sunday the event is open to the general public at 11am. This happens every year. Next years dates are 9/4 to 9/7. The 7th is the public day - come in and see what it is about!

I feel so bad for all the runners in DLR - the heat was supposed to be record breaking...WDW was miserable hot as well - humid! I felt like I was walking around in a steam room all the time. I am not good with the heat any longer (a few years and 40 pounds ago it wasn't so hard!). We were all so tired after just walking to EPCOT from Beach Club it was all we could do to eat dinner and sleep.

Well - I have just gotten unpacked (partially!) and have to get some sleep before I pack again. I leave in ONE WEEK for Vienna. At least it isn't hot in Prague (my little sidebar weather water tells me it is 50 F there as I type, raining as well :) )

Is anyone else going to be on the DVC cruise?

Hoagie Pie, yipee for the Florida job!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I was just anout to PM you and find out how that was going. We may end up in Atlanta, within driving distance!

Well, we finally did it after a year and a half of waiting we saw Wicked. It was so fantastic that we walked straight out and bought tickets to go back for Jonathan's birthday! Then spent yesterday visiting with Scoobypop (Chris and Rob) at the pool doing absolutely nothing but relaxing - it was so much fun and probably the most relaxing day we've had in weeks. They get to see Wicked today. The weather is great this week and the lines at DL are empty (all but Nemo.) Back to work today and back to DL again tomorrow.

HOORAY!!!!

Isn't the green girl amazing?!?! I'm so thrilled for you guys, Kelly, that I can't stand it. I already sent a text to Chris (as he told you since you were wiht him at the pool when he got it, I think) that he better call me or text me during intermission right after he sees Elphaba fly in 'Defying Gravity.' I just can't get enough of that show. I have tickets to see it already 2 times in May of next year here in Rochester...and I may buy tickets for another night if Hadley and her family can make it to Rochester to see it with us. Wicked might be one of the things I love in this world more than I love Disney!! In fact I'm pretty sure that my list might go:
1.) Jason
2.) my family
3.) my friends (which includes many of you, of course, :goodvibes)
4.) my pets
5.) Tigger
6.) Wicked
7.) Disney (inc. WDW, DCL....and DisneyLand once we've been there!!)

I've seen Wicked twice:thumbsup2 (Notice the green!) Katey got her boyfriend to pay for up front seats for her. She'd already seen it twice before! I think that 17 year old boy is whipped. My HUSBAND of nearly 20 years got me balcony seats...for my birthday...puh. Jealousy within the family is not good...off to repent...grrrr.:headache:

Of course I'm just kidding! I enjoyed the Seats Scott got and woudn't have enjoyed it as much had I been worrying about the cost of the seats.;)

Hey DizzneyDAnn....don't think I haven't noticed how you're dodging my question on the double dip boards!! :lmao: :lmao: Are you double dipping with us or not?!?!?

Oh, and Erik, we all want to be included in number 3.:)

Book your tickets up to Rochester and you're in!! Although if everyone comes at once you'll have to sleep on the porch!! hehehe

When does the Hill Cumorah pageant start? Maybe you could bring the family and do a Wicked & Pageant trip!!

Ummmmmmmmm:upsidedow Does it count if I wanna go?

The Pageant sounds great, but how about next year. I'm feeling a little "Cruise-poor" at the moment! (We're still booked for the PC, actually and I need to pay for THAT!) Scott starting his business is majorly cramping my style!:lmao:

Okay, to make number 3, I actually have to visit your home? Hmmm. Complications....

 Maybe i'll just adopt you, since you won't marry me...Jason IS number 1...and then I can be bumped up to family level, NUMBER 2!!!! Wahoo. After all, what's another kid? or two (can't forget Jason)? (Can you tell, I'm competitive?:rolleyes1 )

I actually think adoption would be easier at this point than asking Scott to finance another trip...China, 2 TransAtlantic cruises, a 4 day cruise, Disney World twice, Singapore, all in one year....no chance in heck I'm getting to NY. No way, no how.

Interesting to hear everyone's take on the return Repo. We knew we were the best though didn't we! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Well with everyone seeing Wicked - I have to say... we are going to see Jim Brickman!!!! He is coming to a small theater about an hour south of here on December 30. Long ways off, but we bought our tickets the other day and got great seats, or so I hope, have never been there before!

So we will have a little of the "magic" in December.

Debbie

Saw Wicked opening weekend in London but was disappointed because she didn't fly! Have seen her fly on TV since (Royal Variety Show had Dancing through life and Defying gravity on there) and wish she had in the show!

Saw Jim on the West Bound and have to say his leg is distracting but hey he's good at his job. The family we were with asked the Cruise staff if he was signing autographs and they said they would try and get one on a Navigator for her and they did which was cool.

OOH...then you saw the REAL Elphaba---Idina Menzel. I know she originated the role in the London run, too (she was also the original on Broadway and won a Tony award for the role). It's too bad she didn't fly for your show in London....that is very powerful part of the show...but she's still amazing nonetheless. I had the pleasure of seeing her in the role 5 times in NYC. I've also seen Eden Espinosa, Shoshana Bean, Stephanie Block, Julia Murney and Kristy Cates play the role.....but Idina will always be Elphaba for me.

Hi All,
DizzneyDAnn, we have been looking forward to hearing your return journey report. Glad you had a good time, and it was fun to see your posts again!

Everyone else as well, thank you for the updates and comments.

Enjoying several hours at the Grand Californian pool on Monday with Kelly and Jonathan and Zoe was TRULY awesome! The weather couldn't have been more perfect that day, and of course, the company was even better. We chatted and laughed and caught up all afternoon. It was SO great!

Needless to say, Wicked was also incredible. Eden Espinoza was playing Elphaba, but we also loved Fiyero and Galinda and Madame Morrible. We were fourth row center orchestra (Sorry Deanna, not rubbing it in, just stating the facts  ) We would have liked to have walked back out and bought tickets again, but we are thinking we'll drive out some other weekend and put our names in for the ticket lottery. And yes, we did text Erik at intermission, although it was 1 am his time, but he insisted, so I didn't feed bad for waking him up! :rotfl:

All in all, between Wicked and visiting Kelly and family, it was a GREAT L. A. weekend! And coming back home today and seeing some familiar friends posting on the boards is just a nice capper.

P.S.--THIRY SEVEN POUNDS of pins?!?! Oh my goodness Padalyn, that is funny!:woohoo:
Later everyone!
Chris and Rob:cool1:

P.S.S. This is not Disney related, but lately Rob has been scouring YouTube for fun, and got all caught up in it, then got ME all caught up in it. We went through old videos and uploaded an old video from 1994 that my friend Chuck and I made one night. It's very old, and very bad quality, but if anyone wants to check out our sillyness from 13 years ago, here is the link. I hope that works. If not, just go to YouTube and in search, type in Laverne and Shirley Parody--we are either the first or second video you'll see. It's just silly, and pure fun, but we thought we'd share. Take care!

Welcome home boys!

Glad you loved Wicked.....and you didn't wake us with your text, my phone was in the basement! :lmao: Very cute video, too....oy that 80's hair!!! :scared1: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So the exciting news of the day is this: Everyone knew I think that we are going to CA in November for a conference in Palm Springs and we are tying a long weekend at DisneyLand to that (first visit ever!!). Well, I am also going to a conference in Atlanta in December....so we are going to fly down a few days early and spend a long weekend there with Jason's sister who lives there.....but the conference ends on Wed., Dec. 5th and Atlanta is just WAY too close to Orlando to miss the chance....so we're going to fly down to WDW for another of our 4 night trips (check in Wed. afternoon and check out Sunday night). We're very excited because we'll get to see the Xmas festivities at the parks including all the happenings at Epcot with the Candlelight Processional (and Anna in the choir, right?!?!) and also the Xmas Party at Magic Kingdom!! We couldn't get into ANY of the DVC resorts b/c they were so booked up....so we had to use our points to stay in a Disney hotel...the choices were Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach, but we've stayed at Caribbean Beach a million times so we're staying Port Orleans Riverside cuz we've never been there. We're very excited....although they already warned us that there are NO bookings left for the dinner package for the Candlelight (like the Fantasmic package where you get dinner at an Epcot restaurant and then get priority seating at the Candlelight show). I will probably just keep calling and bugging them to see if anyone cancels or anything opens anyway....(unless any of you cast members have an IN and can get us a seating...which would ROCK!!!)...but regardless it'll be amazing, i'm sure!!

OOOO Sarah, no flying! But quite frankly, the song really is so powerful, that I can see it without flying.

C & R, I'm so glad to hear that you guys liked the show and got home safely. I was worried about that long drive after a long day, but the excitement of the show is enough to keep the conversation going for awhile. OK, Chris that was hilarious and you look like a baby!!!!

Erik, that sounds like lots of fun. I didn't realize that all the DVC resorts could actually fill up like that. Wow!

Has anyone stayed at the Beach club resort? We saw it on TV this week and thought it may be fun to try.

We went to DL for a couple of hours this morning and finally got onto Nemo - OH man was it a great ride. I was really impressed how much they did with it.

Debbie, we missed him on the cruise because it was an excursion night.

GASP!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to be at WDW December 7-16!!!!!!!!!! I also have no where to stay..... but we will deal with that.

OMG! You will know where to find me on Thursday :):yay:

Debbie

Erik and Debbie, So glad you will be here when Epcot is at it's BEST!! I can't promise you anything but I will do my best to get you seats for Friday, Dec.7.
That is when my husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law are going. We can't ask for special seating till the week before. So I will pm you both if I can or can't get them. They told us tonight at choir practice that oh most all the dining/processional packages are sold out. I would sure make dinner reservations right now for early in the evening. I will try to get you in the 8:15 show - no guarantees but will do my best.If you can't go on Friday you know you can always just stand in the non-package line and hope you get a seat. A lot of people do that. You just stand in line a long, long time. Sorry I didn't get to see you guys last week. I saw Hadley and family on Monday. I got to work the Astronauts' visit. I was so surprised at how little they all are - I'm sure none of the men were over 5'8. Barbara Morgan was the most popular - everyone wanted their picture with her. I saw Connie at Caribbean Beach on Saturday. She sure looked sharp in her "cruise" uniform:cool1: . Anna
