:woohoo: we are flying into seattle in august for our alaskan cruise. anything we should do or see before the cruise.:sad2:

Well, as with anything, it will depend on how much time you'll have here. The port is in the down town area. You would be able to walk down the pier, walk to the aquarium (one of our favorite things to do), walk to pikes place market. You'd want to take a cab if you wanted to see the space needle or experience music project. It'd be a long drive to go to Mt Rainer, but great for looking out and having a picnic.

When is your cruise?

Lori

:confused3 I am very disappointed - I just got off the phone with the cruise line and they informed me that Palo is sold out for the entire cruise. I found that odd. Did anybody else have a problem making a reservation. She said to check with Guest Services once we board.

I called DCL this morning to see about the newest discount. We saved another $400 and got to keep my cabin! I can now book another shore excursion.:thumbsup2 Thank you DCL!!

Thank you :flower3: to all of you for sharing all your pricing information. I didn't call yesterday, I really didn't want to loose my cat 9 rooms. But after reading everyone posts yesterday, I decided to try it.

Is this a new discount or the $200 from yesterday?

:yay: we cruise 8/4, but arrive 8/3.. we are booked at the hilton by the air port should we change that to something else.:lmao:

Great idea! I'd like to help with the gift bags! Have you got a headcount yet? Were you thinking of only those who are on the dishboards or all of the children on the ship? just let me know what i can do to help.... but please remember i am a tax advisor, so these next two weeks will be really, really busy for me. bettie  taxtracker@aol.com[/QUOTE]

Just the DIS board kids.

That's just horse manure!!! It may be that the ressies available to book online are gone, but there are still PLENTY of reservations available when you get onboard. You just need to go there as soon as you get on the ship and make them. We had the same issue on the Panama Canal cruise and even with a sold out ship, we still got to eat at Palo twice for dinner and brunch and only did one high tea at our own choosing!!!

Don't listen to them at DCL. Go to my post on page 319, post #4778 for what to do immediately when you get on board. DO NOT go to Guest Services. They CANNOT help you.

Let me know if you need anymore help

YEAH!!! Listen to Linda not DCL!!! We have done this many times!!! Once again, Disboarders 50 billion right, DCL about that amount wrong...:rolleyes1

Yee Gads!! I take the kids out for lunch and up to FunSpot (largest arcarde in the country so they tell me) and come back to EIGHT PAGES! And David wonders why I am not getting anything done!

Pat--several pages back you asked about signing up for babysitting. This does not apply to you as both of your kids are old enough to go in the clubs. Children under 3 cannot go in the clubs but can be signed up for babysitting at Flounder's Reef Nursery for an hourly fee.

Ready To Travel--the best companies to use if you want to pick up a car at the airport and return it at the port are Avis or Budget. Both have shuttles to the port when you drop off. We are using Avis and have subcompacts for $29.94 including tax (think about how much trunk space you'll need for luggage--my in-laws will have an empty backseat we can use for excess if needed).

Still no surprise from DCL in the mail. We did get the $400 back. We were actually hoping to go back to guarantee status but still have the cat. 11 rooms listed which is okay too. Gotta love the discounts.

Jen--We'll PM back Cindy and do something for the kids too. I am not at all oppsed to getting inexpensove cleaarnce candy--sugar is sugar no matter how they decorate the wrapper!

Kissimmee--Marika is worried your DD will think Marika is ignoring her. Please pass along the message that we are having major trouble with our email which has severly limited Marika's access to the computer until David has time to fix it. She will send a message as soon as she can and misses communitcating already.

I think I covered everything!

$200 credited - finally, and it looks like everything stayed as it was! Still no surprise from DCL.

There were several discussions that took place over the last few weeks that I basically ignored because I was so bummed about not being on the cruise. Now that I'm back on the cruise I'm trying to remember some of them. But I remember that there was some discussion about games. I'm a game fanatic, and would be pretty much interested in anything. Also I think you can have teams for games in Diversions. So if anyone is interested in forming a team, keep me in mind.

I'm also interested in Bunko, etc. Was I supposed to PM someone about this? I played it a long time ago. I think it was while I was living in Casper, Wyoming. Might be interested in Poker if the stakes aren't too high. What else was mentioned?

While in China, I bought a travel size version of Mah Jong. I had someone teach me a little bit of it, but have only played about three games. I DO have the directions though and what little I played, I really enjoyed. Anyone interested?

Just heard back from my TA, and our room and ressies are intact but we did get the $200 credit. :goodvibes

Still no surprise in the mail, but all these price reductions are enough of a surprise for me!

 Cupcake

That depends on when you get in on the 3rd. If it's early in the day, I'd consider switching to a downtown hotel. But if it's late, then I'm sure it'll be cheaper to stay by the airport. You'd be able to see Pike's Market and the aquarium in a few hours time once you are at the port.

How fun!

Lori

Hubby is booking travel to Florida for work, will work Friday down there, which he needs to do anyway, thus reducing the cost of hotel, his airfare and car rental. Whew. We still have no airfare. I'm thinking of packing a blow up raft to float back home..and life preservers...for safety, ya know.

Just stay in Europe until the ship comes home in Auigust! I wish I could do that!

I was trying to get a BUNKO group going a couple weeks aga! I am sure we can get 12 people to play! Please PM me if anyone is interested. Diversions is a fun place but anywhere we can find some tables to throw dice on will do!

Got my surprise in the mail today. So you west coasters should start seeing them soon.

Yes, but we get back to Orlando at 8:20 PM ish, so I have to be able to go to sleep immediately, because I want to spend Sunday riding E:E and seeing the Flower & Garden stuff. I have to make sure I, and DH and my Dad (someone has to sign us in  ) have enough energy left to do that.

I think we will end up crashing on the international flight (which is probably good, nine hour flight!), but once we hit the states, NO SLEEPING ALLOWED until we make it back to my parents house.

Jeez, Bad choice of words.
Travel safe everyone.
