Landshark '' Candygram - Plumber"

Wow, now Chevy Chase is on our thread!

A big and little ship per coast is an idea I hadn't thought of, but that would make it easier to do the alaska/Hawaii tours.

Wow, down another $200 that is shocking, I'm wondering how many new people they pick up each time this happens vs. how many people keep downgrading?:teacher:

Speaking of 80's music and movies - how about that sound track in Sky High - all the fun cover bands - that was fun to hear a resurrection.

DCL will give us ALL gifts....esp. on this one! Also, some of the people on this board will have gifts for each other, but not all. THIS is STRICTLY voluntary! we didn't do it the firrst time, just being together is the most important thing! party:

Right....all of us are the real gifts! Beyond that everyone's been really open that people can participate in any way possible....

Jason and I can't bring presents for the group, but we wanted to do our part so we helped out with the bracelets and lanyards.......and aboard the ship I'm going to loan myself out as an adult dance partner for kids whose parents may not really want to dance...of course I pretend that's about helping all of YOU when it's really about helping me to feel less silly about being the only adult dancing by himself because Jason won't dance either!!

So cquick is right....no need to worry about gifts, if you got 'em GREAT, if you don't....you're still bringing a gift you might not even have known about...YOU!! :yay:

:tigger:
Erik

(p.s. And I, for one, think gydell has already given a ton by being such a fun and active participant on this board. As the trip gets closer and closer Jason and I are getting so excited about not only the trip but also meeting everyone from here....usually we don't have anyone to talk to really onboard...which is fine since we have each other....but it's so exciting to come onto this cruise feeling like we already have a bunch of friends!!! )

This is a rough number, many of our friends have not posted their room numbers.

Here it goes! The winner is...... Deck 2!

Deck 2 - 19 cabins
Deck 5 - 4 cabins
Deck 6 - 12 cabins
Deck 7 - 9 cabins
Deck 8 - 15 cabins

Those of us on Deck 5 are few... but we stick together!

Debbie

:sad1: :sad1: i was on deck 5 but Seaulater now has my cabin!!!! i gave it up to save $$$$$....sorry!

Ok, I think all of my pre-cruise shopping is done. New socks, sunscreen, make-up, razors, and all the travel sizes of lotions and such. Order from Coldwater Creek arrived yesterday so I think I am good to go on clothes. Broke in the new shoes at a wedding yesterday, so I have a tan (ok maybe a slight burn) started. Now I just need to lose 50 pounds in 40 days...no problem there...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

count me in on that diet! i have new socks for my son, daughter and me but need some for hubby and underwear shopping will be in a couple weeks (with another refund from DCL see below...) i went to men's wearhouse and bought my hubby the best shirts and pants and spent some of my first refun! :rotfl2: the only big thing i have left to buy is a suit and dress shoes for my 13 year old....i am going to get him measured this week and then buy a suit from men's wearhouse or ebay! andi have to get my hubby measured for hs pirate outfit! i already have all new clothes for me and my daughter! isn't that what cruising is really for...all the new clothes???

I have added a few new children to our group! :thumbsup2

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a "gift giving" for the Children group?

On our Panama Canal Cruise we got lots of little items delivered to our room almost everyday. The children loved coming back to the room and finding a little surprise. The "surprises" where nothing expensive: small pack of m&m's, eye patch, tatoos...

Does this sound like something you and your child would like to do? I know that mine would love to do this!

Loved the new DCL show! Pertaining to the gifts could some body explain exactly what is a gift and how often are they given. I don't mean to be a party pooper but - gifts for everyone on the cruise at the sail away party, gifts for secret Mickey, and gifts for all the kids plus things you want to bring for your child. Sounds like alot of money and a whole suitcase! The idea is great but we're talking over 200 gifts! Maybe I am not understanding it correctly. Someone PLEASE explain it too me

several people are very generously contributing to the lanyard teams and bracelets teams in leiu of having to deliver gifts all over the ship! I do not want anyone to feel they have to give more! i think if anyone wants to give little presents (and many of us are) it should be something extra so those that have contributed to these teams (and their kids) don't feel left out...but it was a great idea!

disneycruising...i love what we are doing over in the PC repo where teams are taking over each day with special treats...maybe on that cruise since we have more time we can set up a kid gift exchange!

The prices just went down again, at least on Travelocity, for the GTY 12. I called to get the scoop, and they said if Disney did give me the lower price, I would lose the cabin I had been assigned and go back to GTY status. No good for me, since I have a Cat 9, but I was thinking of those who were not thrilled with their cabin assigment. You may be able to get the cheaper price and get another shot at a better cabin! May be worth a try for someone.

i told my travel agent to give DCL a call...i want my $$$$ back to spend on the ship...i started off with a cat 11 on deck 5 and i can't get any lower than that so i have nothing to lose but more $$$ to spend in the gift shop!!! i would much rather spend money in the gift shop than on a balcony! :lmao: (but that is just me...i know many of you out there love your balconies and it is my DCL dream to be magically ugraded to one! :cloud9: )

Jason and I had a cruise planning weekend, too. We did some shopping for supplies and things. Jason has been looking for an excuse to update and re-invigorate his wardrobe (neither of us really love clothes shopping...so we easily become complacent about it!). So we got some new shirts and shorts over the weekend. I also bought a new pair of sandals (flip flops) for the season and am now trying to break them in. We also needed a better garment bag and found one we loved in Macy's...but it was SOO expensive! It's a samsonite "spinner" that has tons of extra storage...but we really couldn't rationalize spending nearly $300 on a suitcase....luckily, however, I got one off ebay over the weened for less than $150 WITH shipping and it should be here in the next week or so! :yay: :yay:

What a truly nice person you are. All we be good in the end and all of us DISsers are bound to have an awesome cruise. I am so glad you saw the price drop. I checked it a few times this weekend for some friends of my in-laws who will likely book two cabins today, but did not check again this morning. I would have missed it for a while I think. Is it a rainy day down on the cape today too (we are up in the Lakes Region, NH)?

i know...thanks for updating all of us to the price drop....i have been trying to get some friends to go with us too but no one can go...oh well, more money for me! :rotfl:

let's please keep updating each other when the price drops!!!

the updated DCL special on the Travel Channel last night was really good...i DVR'd it so i can watch it anytime....it was about time they updated it!!!:happytv:

AWWW!!! Now I'm sorry we didn't record it!! We thought it was just a repeat of older DCL shows so we didn't bother watching or taping it! :(

I am sorry Gydell, I guess I didn't make myself clear. :confused3 I will try again.

I was just seeing if any one would be interested in doing a "gift" for the "kids group". But, if nobody was interested that is fine to. I though it would be something fun for the kids to do. It of course would be completely voluntary! Every child would be included.

Most importantly::thumbsup2 I know that many of you have very generously contributed to other things!! I was not in any way trying to take way from that. We do truely appreciate what everyone is doing!!

Boy did I open up a can of worms! I am not against the gift giving. I just do not want anyone to feel left out -especially the kids. I know that exchanging gifts at the sailaway party has been mentioned, as well as secret Mickey for the adults. I personally had rather give to the kids if I give to anyone.

I am sorry Gydell, I guess I didn't make myself clear. :confused3 I will try again.

First, I was just seeing if any one would interested in doing a "gift" for the kids in our "kids group". But, if nobody was interested that was fine to. I was just wondering.

Second,It of coures would be completely voluntary! We do not have a lot of children in our group. I have about 20 families on our kids group list.**I would not exclude any ones children, if someone chose not to do it participate.

Last and most importantly::thumbsup2 I know that many of you have very generously contributed to other things!! I was not in any way trying to take way from that. We all do truely appreciate what everone is doing!!

We don't have any kids on this trip but if you were willing to do the shopping we'd be willing to contribute some $ for kids gifts. Just let us know.
I love seeing smiles on little ones faces!

My DGS was so excited watching the Disney cruise show last night that getting back on the ship will be gift enough for him. He has watched to show again this morning!

Regarding gifts... we would just love to participate in everything, BUT because we are on the b2b the gifts are totally way into the hundreds (Ken could probably tell us exactly how many) I, too, was trying to do a personalized gift for each person (with their fav characters) but we grew so much that it was turning into several hundred, so I've abondoned that idea and made a very small generic goodie. Outside of that I have no more room in the baggage and the budget. But I will be thrilled to see what other items people have fun getting and giving! Honestly after a year of talking to all of you on this thread it will be a thrill to hear your accents, voices, speech patterns, laughter etc. By the way I think we are at one year this week since we booked (April 4th!) Wow, its our anniversary.

but deck 8 comes in a close second.....so my assertion that we're gonna be the party deck stands! heheheh

We're DVR'ing travel channel all day. Right now the animal kingdom lodge show is on so we're watching it. I'm also taping anything about AKL and about the theme parks to send to my mother for our trip! The last time my parents were at Disney was in 1983 when I was 9years old....so Epcot had JUST opened the year prior and my mother is somewhat flabbergasted at how the World has grown over the years!!!

:tigger:

Erik

We TIVO'd all of it. Didn't get to watch any yet though, we were busy watching Amazing Race and The Apprentice last night.

Maybe tonight.....

One busy weekend, and about $650 later, I have most of our cruise shopping done. DH still needs new tennis shoes, a pair of dress pants and one or two pairs of shorts. I still want to find a cute cardigan, and I need some makeup because I never wear any. And we need some new luggage.

Saw your responses to the questions about the cruise! I think you will find the 14 night much different than the 3 night. You are going to love it! We even had friends who are CM's and cruised on the PC cruise and even though their tips were pre-paid they were given first class service.

I think you will love the longer itinerary and the attention you will get.

Ok, called my TA and she is going to call and get the next $200 per cabin refund and find out where the rest of our refund is from the last price drop!!

Also she called about moving our cabin and the rep she talked with offered to change us, but it would have been to an even noisier room. Also, the sup she talked with indicated that she didn't think all the free upgrades were over and that the rooms could still change based on how much more of the ship they sell. So, I guess all we can do is keep watching to see what happens!!:surfweb:

What's the deal with High School Musical on Ice?

I was online at 10am sharp, and the best available were the $26 seats ($40 were the best) We got row T on the lower level towards the end of the ice. (basically behind the goalie) I never saw it advertised and supposedly there are 3 other performaces but only 1 shows up on Ticketmaster. Plus, we only got 2 tickets, so it wasn't like I needed 8.:confused3

My only guess is that since we are in Orlando, they are holding back a lot of tickets for Disney giveaways, RadioDisney giveaways, and Year of a Million Dream giveaways....:confused3 :confused3
