OK let the laughter begin....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm officially up to 4 bags!. Since we downsized our luggage we are already up to 4 - UGH... and I'm sorry to say that I'm not quite done yet. BUT, fortunately, my DF lives in Fl, so I'm shipping a big box of stuff that we are not bringing back with us to him to bring to WDW next week. Our new luggage is so much smaller (because we tried to save a couple of pounds for air travel!) With no pirate or Cinderella dress! I may be going back to the big luggage. My quarters alone were 10 pounds (for the laundry.) Is there a bank at downtown Disney?

Brooklyn, I've been keeping a list of everyone who wants to have Tea with Wendy (who could be Alice - that makes sense - and would be fun too), so I'll add you to the list. We'll see what we can do to have a party of all of us. It never hurts to ask.

Very cute b'day pics!

Born on the same day -- How does that happen????

We use HE too, I didn't realize you couldn't use it on other machines!

I've got a question for all of you...

Do the couch/beds come off and can they go on the floor? DD sleeps like a pinwheel. She spins around all night long - so much so that we had to put her into a queen size bed at 10 months old. So, I'm wondering if she can go on the matteress on the floor? or can we make up a bed on the floor? Last cruise she was small enough to sleep between us, but she's too big to do that this trip. I watched her as she slept upside down last night - feet on the pillows and began to wonder how on earth we'd keep her on this bed.

OK! so many things to say to so many people that I don't even know who posted them anymore!

!. I know it was Rio and his dad who made the great ship!

2. What great photo's of the birthday party, It was neat because I had met your girls the day before!

3. Just remember you can use old vitamin bottles or plastic salad dressing bottles with a screw top lid to put liquid laundry detergent in, that way you are using what your family would normally use at home, and you can throw away the extra.

4. What's a Flat Stanley?

5. OH! yeah! a group pic at the BBQ! HOW COULD WE HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT????!!!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

6. I am makiing 6 more fish extenders today. All in blue. I had made one for Patrick with Piglet and Winnie the Pooh on it (they used to be his favorite) BUT NOW he wants a blue one with a ship on it like his brother's (a little sibling rivalry there, I think). Since we have spoiled him rotten, I am making him one. Our "family" fish extender will actually be Patrick's. Also made him a cute magnet by scanning the magnet in and adding his pic from the last cruise we were on, he has been holding it since I made it!

OK let the laughter begin....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yes, there is a SUNTRUST bank right across the street from Downtown Disney.

I would call DCL... I know they have bedrails, but I don't know if they work on the couch. We are bringing an airbed. It comes in it's own rolling bag and everything. Pat can't get up off the floor, so it's usually DH who sleeps on the extra bed, and he didn't like the couch last trip.

Sandi and Ken--Thanks for letting me know Tom will be taking us across the pond. I'm sure Thord is greta too, but Captain Tom is so ingrained in my DCL experience it would throw me for a bit of a loop of he weren't there (especailly for a cruise of this length).

i am ambarreassed to say that i have no clue who our captain has been the last three times we have cruised...i must be crazy!

I searched EVERYWHERE for tablets and couldn't find any!!! Just when I had resolved myself to the fact that I wsa going to have to buy detergent out of hte machines aboard I found (I think in Target or Walgreen's) a small bottle of liquid All that is supposedly super concentrated. It's as small or smaller than a travel size shampoo and it claims that 1/2 a bottle will clean a full load of laundry so I just bought two of those....very little space, it's sealed so it won't leak....and if that works then we'll be set. We anticipate doing laundry twice during this trip since we're staying at AKL for over a week before cruising...we think we'll do laundry at AKL the day before we leave and then on the ship about 1/2 way through....OR we may bring our dirty clothes onto the ship and just do laundry aboard the ship the first or second night and then again half way through....(Or we may bring our dirty clothes to the Wine and Cheese party at Scott's in OKW and just do our laundry there...he and Lynn don't know that yet, though, so SHHH don't tell!:rotfl: )

:tigger:
Erik

i bought this kind too! we also bought 2 bottles thinking we could do 4 loads...great minds think alike!!!

A person after my own heart! Some places in Orlando even recognize me as the lady who comes in with the book! :coffee:
I'll be the one coming on board with the suitcase full of books.

you and me both! my husband even said to me yesterday that he was thinking about not going with me on the cruise because i was not going to be any fun...he told me reading on deck was NOT a fun activity! :rotfl2: :lmao: i'll post later why he might get his wish! :wizard:

I have tried to find these (used them on our first cruise, and couldn't find them for our second) and cannot anywhere....even online. If you know where these are sold please tell me, or I will pay you to buy some extra for me? Pretty please? They do not exist anymore as far as I can find! :confused3

i will check at my walmart today! i saw them last week and i got the small bottles of super concentrate all that do 2 loads....i will pick up some extras for people....

PM me if you need me to get some for you!!!!!!

Was anyone watching The Amazing Race tonight and notice the mouse ears on the road sign in Hong Kong? Very cool.

Ken

OMG!!! i told my hubby...mickey is everywhere! my first thought was that must be the terminal to take flights to disneyworld!!! :rotfl2:

And speaking of laundry, has anyone ever seen portable (i.e., tablets) that are sensitivity-type detergent? The best I found was a relatively petite box, all things considered, of Ivory baby detergent. I hope that's OK for my dh, he is allergic to anything that's not a "free" type product. I wonder if I should try do a patch test, but I don't want to open the box as it is nice and leakproof now. He says he has used Ivory soap before w/o issue, so I assume it is ok, but it wouldn't be good to have a bad allergic reaction during the cruise. We have a Miele frontloading washer, so use HE detergent (Persil free), which is not suitable to bring with for a regular machine. Does anyone else have this problem? .

another poster was right...wash a load of your clothes before his in the public laundry....then he won't get as much residue! also...buy another box of detergent and run a practice load of stuff at a laundromat at home and see how he reacts....you might also see how he does with Cheer Free detergent and pack it in ziploc baggies....

Hi all - so many posts so little time - I just got my Hat and t shirt for the b2bs  Wow the big day is comming fast :cheer2:

I have mine yay!!! My mum and dad (who booked before me) and my sister (who booked with me) havent had theirs mind. My Mum threatened to keep my magnets but they are now safely in my hands.

Lindsay

PS 5 days to go for me!!!:cool1:

Ok this is just wrong, UK gets theirs and the Canadians have none yet...... OK maybe Disney is trying to butter you up for that big tea issue that you had before so you don;t get any ideas on this trip

Cheers!!

Pat

Misseulelie...
Hey, we're having back to back parties, too. I'm in recovery week (yeah, right!) and then we have the twins party. I think they invited 30 kids. EEK! I hope there's some epidemic at the school this week!

Definitely ask for bedrails, maybe two so it covers the whole length of the bed. The bed is really the sofa back folded down. I don't remember it being a separate piece, but then how would they change the sheets if it wasn't:confused3 so maybe it does come off?? (Seriously bad runon sentence, sorry! mind was going while I was typing....:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: on the luggage. j/k - I just upsized my rental car in Orlando because I'm afraid I won't be able to get luggage and kids all in.:rotfl2: .

YEA!   Hopefully, DH's passport will be here soon. :rotfl2: My DH feels the same way about "decK reading". I send him off to get a soda or something, so I can grab a few minutes on deck 4 with my book.

I don't have magnets, either! I wanted my magnets more than my docs!
Me too! Doc's are really just luggage tags now.

OH Elizabeth, I'm so happy! I meant to put you in my earlier post that I was thinking about you all weekend. Now Laura is the last one right????

Yes, DH said the same thing, he'll put the quarters in his bag.

Another thought on quarters - can Dad pick them up for you in Florida?

I am a little bit of a computer junkie :surfweb: Last night I was the last one awake at home and got this idea to make a Disney Graduation Diploma. It needs some work as I just came up with this idea late last night but here is what I came up with....

diploma.jpg.w560h432.jpg

I was thinking that I could print these out and take them to DL this weekend and get them signed by Mickey. I am sure we could also get them signed once we were on board too. If anyone wants one for their child let me know.

I am going to work on the design and wording a little more so I will let those interested know when (in my spare time :lmao: ) I get this finished.

Not sure if Disney would have a problem with this or not??? It is homemade and really just for our own memories. :confused3

Oh my....that's adorable! How about diplomas for all of us?! :dance3:

Brooklyn, that's very creative and sweet----you're gonna fit into this fish extender sewin', magnet makin', banner paintin', lanyard, namecard, and bracelet designin' & scrapbookin' clan just fine!!! :woohoo:

(Speaking of creativity......last night I had a burst of energy and decided to make my mother one more present....a seat cushion/cover for her wheelchair when we're in the parks....it folds up really small but opens up and has a space for an inflatable cushion (which she is bringing herself) and covers the seat and drapes up over the back where I designed a pouch to hold a few random things (like tissues, water bottle, etc....nothing of value) while we're in the park. Our last name is embroidered in big letters across the pouch, too, and it is, of course, made out of colorful mickey fabric......so now her wheelchair will be easily identified when we have to leave it in "parking areas" outside attractions, etc.---and it will also now be personalized in a way that will make for one more magical memory for her!)

Ok I am officially in major "cram" mode (remember the week before finals in college? Like that!) Realizing that I cannot possibly do all the internet research I want on the ports of call before we go, I am relagated to getting some guide books. Again, not going to have a chance to read these before the trip, but, hey, I have 6 days at sea to figure out what to do, right? I went to Barnes & Noble last week for a little while, but got overwhelmed.

So here's my question, what guide books/maps can ya'll recommend that I can order from Amazon or pcik up from Barnes & Noble or Borders?

Possibilities we are interested in:
Tenerife:
pyramids, market or Mt. Tiede (volcano)
Cadiz:
really don't know much about this one at all and the Rick Steves book I looked at didn't have anything.
Gibraltar:
rock on our own
Barcelona:
again, don't know much. The chocolate museum seems interesting.

:guilty: I went and checked....I am still heartbroken. I was really expecting him to be on this special innagural cruise, to say the least :(.
Someone has said Boyz to Men and Joey Fatone would be on it, but Joey is right in the middle of Dancing with the Stars...I cannot see him being able to get away right now? Has anyone else heard this?

I sure hope not. We have cruised with both before. Hope they don't repeat from the inagural PC cruise. Would love new entertainment this cruise since it is a new 1st itinerary! But, I am confident to say that Bob Saget won't be on board (unless he is a paying passenger of course!) :rotfl:

Does Captain Hook play a role in the pirate night? My daughters are huge Peter Pan fans.

Yes. And if you want to be a part of the great group pirate photo, it will happen in the atrium at 7:50 p.m. on Pirate night.

Was anyone watching The Amazing Race tonight and notice the mouse ears on the road sign in Hong Kong? Very cool.

Ken

Just about one year ago (actually May 4th) we were headed to Hong Kong DL for our free trip from DVC for adding on points from the Member Cruise 2005. Hong Kong was a blast! Would love to go back. Now the only park we haven't been to yet is Tokyo and we plan on going there sometime in the near future (although cruising seems to keep getting in the way!)

Don't worry about hauling to DL this weekend. Take them to Guest Services as soon as you board the ship and put in a big ziplock baggie and Guest Services will give them to Mickey and have him sign and then they will deliver to your stateroom. Shouldn't be a problem!

QUOTE]

No you're not crazy!...Unless Jason and I are, too (which is a very distinct possibility, of course! :confused3 ). I think some people just pay more attention to that stuff than others....I don't know who the captain is on ANY of the 4 Disney cruises I've taken....and I only vaguely remember who the cruise director is even (I think her name was Julie or something????) It's funny because Jason and I never really even pay attention to them...while others seem to become their best friends!:lmao: I'm in my own little world so I can't possibly remember such things! :rotfl2:

HEY! If reading on deck is not a fun activity, then WHY am I bringing 10 books with me? You and I can have fun reading together!

OH, WOW, WHat a nice thing to do. I made wheelchair bags for Patrick's wheelchair several years ago, but I made them out of black shade cloth. Not anything so creative! We also have a net that hangs below the chair which is connected with velcro, it's very handy for shopping, coats, and stuff like that. Connie
