Erik, is your image of the little guy totally shattered now? Rio says, "I like the first one a lot and the second one it's just the rest of them are scary." It is true in the past year or so he has started to watch the first two often. But, I still find myself with a movie junkie kid (Rio) who will not go to midnight premiers with me and a book junkie kid (Marika) who has no intesest in partying at the bookstore waiting for the release (this is why I had kids right? So they would give me an excuse to do all the fun things like this)

I can't imagine we'll get any Harry Potter sneak peeks on board as it is the competition. I'm more excited for the last book than the movie anyway. But I am very excited for both. I have defecftive kids--they don't like Harry Potter--where do I exchange them?

Were are on Deck 7 #7128... on DVC points and I doubt if an upgrade will happen, folks on DVC Points don't seem to fall into the upgrade Catagory. We like the Cat 7s. esp when we bring dive gear, the cat 7 veranda is great for drying stuff out. I did try fro a Cat 3 but they were not available.

OH, KEWL. you are only a few doors down from us, we are right next to the big deck 7 "secret" balcony

I wish! I'm going to have to wait until Sunday this year to see it as the Friday and Saturday of that week I will go be on a girls weekend in Portland OR. Not too bad a reason to have to wait.

DD16 loves Harry, a bit too much really. DS10 lisens to them to them on tape and enjoys them. DS8 could care less!

Todays To Do List: Bible study, finish fish extender and start yard. I cannot imagine the mess the yard will be in if I don't get it in shape before we leave!

Tell him he's got some brownie points to earn back....BUT I suppose I'll overlook this one small transgression! (And Marika...well tell her that every brilliant girl that I know LOVES Harry Potter....so if she wants to keep her genius status she better start reading!!! )

I have to confess as a terrible TV and movie queen that I'm not actually much of an avid reader (I know that's AWFUL)....but the Harry Potter books re-invigorated my love for reading. In fact I've already pre-ordered my copy of hte final installment and I will weep a HUGE tear when there are no more books to look forward to!

OBVIOUSLY!!....and don't forget to think ahead....get the kind that intend to grow up to get high paying jobs and have a strong sense of devotion to their parents so that they will allow you guys to take early retirement and take care of you in your golden years!!

Good point. Maybe we should keep the ones we've got (aerospace engineer should pay pretty well shouldn't it?). As far as early retirenmnet, that's why we had them young (only half joking here).

I do not have Harry Potter reserved. I always pick it up at Costco or BJs that first day and it works well for me . The best was when 4 came out and Hank and Jan were visiting and Dave had a trip to Chicago I was accompanying him on without the kids in tow. I had to be REALLY good and not read it on the weekend as it was the first time since Marika had been born Dave and I had that kind of alone time. But, on Monday he went to the convention and I stayed in the hotel ALL DAY, ordered room service for lunch and read the entire novel without interruptions


Do you think Marika would like Harry Potter more if Dave and I didn't insist on calling her Hermione??!!?? Kinda bugs her a bit, but OMG she is so that personality.

The ship gets ABC!

My guess is they will be showing all the NBA playoff games. Whenever we have been on and something big is going on (i.e. October-baseball playoffs and then Monday night football) they have gotten those games. Now I'm not sure whether they were on ABC or ESPN, but they did show them.

I don't know if Tom will have us back, there were others, on this cruise, also at that diner

When I flew to Orlando in January, Tom was on my flight with his family (see-it was my flight! ) Anyway, I was in first class along with he and his wife and I asked him about the transatlantic crossing. He said he had already done that before so he wasn't coming on the May cruise. He said he is going on a Med. cruise in June after his girls got out of school (they were sitting in coach, also where my DH and DD were).

Anyway, if he is on the ship he will be getting off before we leave the port. Hope he makes a short appearance so we can say hi!

Thanks to DCL~ We will also be stay at the Hyatt the night before. We will be arriving from CA about 4:30pm. My family is going to just hang out at the hotel: have dinner and go for a swim. We are also meeting up with Laura at the pool after dinner. Feel free to join us!

Wow, I assumed that we would not get it, so I adjusted all my Tivo'd shows yesterday. I'd be thrilled to get it there. But we are always so busy on the boat that we miss the beginning or end of most shows. I'm really hoping we'll get the Paris Tennis in the room. And maybe some of the Italian cycling (Giro) updates.

The audio version are spectacular and may seem less scary to him without his own voice reading it in his head.

OMG - the dress rehearsal was just gawdawful!!! I almost called FEMA twice it was such a disaster. I heard a helicopter outside once and thought it was the Governator coming in to make the declaration official. How bad can it be you say? Well here are the top ones:

1 - The dress rehearsal, which we expected to be 2.25 hours WITH intermission ran 3.75 hours, because the director kept interrupting

2 - One girls idea of acting is to stand there and flap her arms up and then slap them down on her thighs...over and over and over again...I swear she flapped hard enough at one point to actually get a little airborne

3 - Oberon (king of the faries) at the very end of the play (last 5 minutes) couldn't remember his two monologues, so he just took Tatiana (queen of the fairies hand) and walked off the stage leaving Puck there looking confused

4 - One of the male leads has gotten used to calling out "LINE" when he can't remember...which he kept doing...after he missed his cue and had no idea he was supposed to be speaking. I can just see that happening tonight during the performance

5 - And my favorite - The greek guys are in togas (mid-calf length) and they can not get it through their heads that they need to watch how and where they bend over or raise their legs up at. One of them went to lay down and flashed everyone is tighty whities....or when they are sitting down they hike the skirt up and sit with their legs open...

Yeah, tonight is going to be something else...fortunately I have birthday cake ordered and all us birthday girls in costumes are going to eat chocolate cake and cringe from the closed off balcony....

umm - isn't that what the DVR is for?? Stargate and Stargate Atlantis will end on June 8 - I won't be home yet. Will you? And if you have the older episodes - I missed 4/13 of both shows somehow (I think my Girlfriend may have deleted them accidently). Can I convince you to dump them to tape or DVD and send them to me? (neither are scheduled to be re-aired in the scheduled future)

YIKES!!!

yes - ABC on the ship - but there seems to be a delay from the live feeds - maybe an hour or so (was that way on the Westbound Panama cruise - we got the 11pm news at 1am or so)
