A quick question for Florida folks - DCL has put us up at the Orlando Airport Hyatt arriving about 1730 on Friday night. Are we close to any shopping? How far from DW is it and can you get there easily? Anyone else on the flight from Dallas?:)

Greg,

Thanks to DCL~ We will also be stay at the Hyatt the night before.;) We will be arriving from CA about 4:30pm. My family is going to just hang out at the hotel: have dinner and go for a swim. We are also meeting up with Laura at the pool after dinner. Feel free to join us!

Anyone else staying at the Hyatt the night before?

Gilbert Godfried is on now joking about bisexual vegetables. They are debating whether asparagus is bisexual. OY!

His voice is so unique! Recognizable anywhere!

Hi all

This high school production of a Midsummer Nights Dream is going to be a disaster of epic proportions. First performance is tomorrow night (8pm Friday) and the director hasn't finished doing the rough blocking. I was watching last night because, the OCD person in charge of costumes (ME) has made sure they are all ready to go, and I cringed thru so much of it. The kids know most of the lines, but they don't know what they mean. And so many of them have marbles in their mouth (mumbling rather than projecting) and my favorite, turn your back to the audience and mumble!! :upsidedow Set is not finished (and in a big way)...

So I am thinking, bad production, fabulous costumes!

Laura,

This just happen to us last night. My DD (13) is in a little community threather group. They had their first performance last night. I didn't go, but my DH saw some of it.:sad2: He said it was...bad! He said they missed half my DD's scene. She was very disappointed!

My DD also said that some of the kids where so nervous they were going to be sick!:scared1:

The airport Hyatt is not really close to great shopping. If you take the North Exit from the airport, you'll bump into some of the usual strip mall kind of things. To get to WDW, you can take the North Exit to 528 (Beachline) west to I-4, then to WDW. Take the South Exit to 417 (greenway) towards WDW. Either way should take you about 25 minutes to get there, but IMO the Greenway is easier and has no traffic.

We will be there about 7:00pm or so. I will be happy to give out lanyards and name badges to anyone who can find me at the Hyatt on the evening of the 11th.

Orlando Sentinel headline reads, Man Swarmed By A Mob of DIS Persons Looking for Lanyards” film at 11:00 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

With the anticipation of an opening premier or is it a premear a California man was accosted at the Hotel Front Desk, by a mob chanting “we want our lanyards” .

Mr. Kpros was unavailable for an interview as he arrived at Port Canaveral under very tight security:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:scared1:
Laura, just remember the old saying, "Bad dress rehearsal, great opening night!" Dress rehearsals are usually a train wreck, but I AM suprised the director is not emphasizing the NO BACKS TO THE AUDIENCE thing.

That is assuming they actually get to a dress rehearsal tonight...:sad2:

I have been giving girls deportment lessons on how to walk, pick up, sit down and stand up wearing long/floor length dresses. :teacher: I keep telling them, channel your little girl playing dress up!!! Instead they run around like line backers. Oh well, they can now go up and down stairs, and not step on each other or their own dresses.

We were hoping to do makeup last night (again, OCD me is in charge so it is ready to go) but nope, so today will be a trial by fire. And at dinner I need to remind them to get OUT of the costumes BEFORE they eat...cause frankly I have seen their street clothes, and they miss their mouths....ALOT!!!

I just keep telling myself that two weeks from now I will be waiting for Jeannine to pick me up and we will then head down for the hotel and I can relax by the pool for the day!!

Jeannine just called, and the Congressman Royce's office just called her. Her passport is being printed and she will get it by Monday, if not sooner, possibly Saturday!!!! :cool1:   :cool1:

I will post and let you know as soon as she receives it!!!

So KEWL to hear the good news about passports, better yet good to ehar your calls were followed up on....

Our HS is in the middle of a run of "My Fair Lady." They double caste Eliza, and one of them walked like a football player, so I know what you mean! I just wanted to go up and tell her to stand up straight and lower her shoulders, lift her head, especially after she becomes a lady. We are heavy into ballet, and that is just really enforced in dance.

Along with dancing and a little singing, my daughter (17) did all the hair for the show. She has a natural gift for it, but they gave her several days to practice before the dress rehearsal. I can't imagine not having make-up and hair worked out by now. (The hair was amazing, BTW, and she got several bookings for up-dos for prom!)

Two more cabins joining the trip:

Kimberly and Rodney with their 5 year old daughters Victoria and Gabrielle and Harry, Farol, Marleen and Heather.

They are on deck 6 - I'm not sure of their cabin numbers yet.

Kimberly works with my daughter, Aimee, at Frontier Airlines.

I think Kimberly tried to post in the last few days, but I haven't seen it and we don't want them to miss out on all the fun with this group. Just way to many postings in the last few days - I have to skip through or I won't get anything else done.

There are NO back ups...if someone loses their voice, breaks a leg, doesn't show up, NO ONE can back them up!!! I did this all through high school and by now we were smooth as glass, and not only did you know your lines, you knew almost everyone elses lines too!!! They still don't have their cue's down. I am telling you, an Irwin Allen feature, will give Titanic a run for it's money as a disaster...The Sea Diamond will have NOTHING on this production!!!:scared1:

I just made the name badges for Kimberly and Rod - their disboard name is "disdbltrbl" and once you see their picture you will get the reference. :lmao:

Haven't heard from Harry, Farol, Marleen and Heather. If you know them, have then join the disboard soon and start posting!

Since we are figuring ways for DCL to make more $$$, here is mine:

Shrink wrap all the menus from the cruise and offer them to guests to buy in Treasure Ketch. That way they won't keep "disappearing" every night!

:rotfl2:

Why Linda! Whatever do you mean :confused3

GREAT idea! I'd buy them... especially from Animator's Palate! :artist:
