Silly Eller! Erik watches all those shows WHILE he's making magnets and fish extenders AND sewing shirts and making buttonholes!:happytv:

I knew it must be something where he is multitasking! The best multitasking I do is carry on a conversation with my children while I'm iorning or doing the dishes. :laundy:

Thanks Lori, got it read it and enjoyed it.. some of Jimmy's other books are fun. One character, in the book, Tully Mars and his horse Mr Twain, used to live in Jackson Hole and Jimmy makes some pretty good commets about Jackson Hole that are very acurate. I saw Jimmy and Harrison Ford one day whilst we lived there, I believe, Ford did the whip part in Last Mango in Paris.

We like Margaritaville; we go whenever we are in Orlando. Mike drinks Margarita's, but I find it better to avoid tequilla. :rolleyes1

Well, one day closer! :yay: :yay: :yay: We are down to 13 days.

Today's To Do List: Sew buttons on, whip stitch lining, make fish extender, get luggage out, finish cutting for Mystery Quilt class on Saturday. I suppose I'd better wash the slip covers on the coach, too. :laundy: Also, I need to figure out a good reason to drop in on my friend who is hosting our new paster and family without looking like I just want to be the first to meet them, which of course is the real reason. :rotfl2:

Have a great day, everyone!

Lori

TV--Okay, if you REALLY don't want to miss a finale of some show, let the cruise staff know. Last September the season premier of something was on while we were on the ship. We got to an activity in Diversions and were told it was being delayed by an hour because many people had asked to see this show and they were going show it first. Funny thing is, not one person who came back for hte activity had stayed for the show--totally different types of people! So ASK (and ask early so the scheduel is set and my game doesn't get moved;) )

Well, now that's interesting. We've been frustrated that we will miss the end of Lost, but mostly 24. Of course, we Tivo everything, which is how we watch everything speeding through the commercials. And of course, we are always doing something else while watching, ironing, cooking, working etc.

I don't know how far into the trip those shows will be. Obviously the later it is (date wise) the later (timewise) you will have to stay up to see them if you talk the cruise staff into showing it (I think it was a medical show in September Grey's Anatomy maybe, or something similar?). I absolutely get not wathcing live TV-but then again for a how like you are talknig about it is nice to see it before you hear how it came out from some other source.

Hi, my husband asked me to post a few questions:

1. Does anyone know if they serve Starbucks on the ship?
2. Are there CD players on the treadmills?

I remember that there are T.V.'s on the ellipticals, but I don't know about CD players.

Weird packing tip- I am bringing a clip to hold the curtain closed between the bed and couch. I used one of those hair clips that they use when cutting hair and it worked well. Maybe I am a little weird, but if Nicholas was able to see the light on while I read he had a hard time falling asleep (we were on an inside cabin).

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did call DCL 3 times even befor the info on the board. I called and they said it will be going out today or tomorrow.
Thank you.

Another 24 fan:thumbsup2 . But I can't watch that one with out DH. When DD3 was a newborn DH rented Season 1. We'd watch a couple of "hours" several times a day (and late night) while I was up with baby. We saw all of Season 1 & 2 the first month of DD3's life. Now 24 is our "date night" and we only watch that one together  .

:car: driving time, especially to and from swim practice, is when I get some great conversation in with the kids. Amazing some of the topics that will come up!

No cruise stuff on the to do list today. It is DD's 13th birthday. I am officially the mother of a teenager:scared1:! Need to make cookies for swim team this morning and decorate DD's cake - I have a 3" model of the Magic that is going to be "sailing" across her cake from Castaway Cay to the Canary Islands:rotfl2:! Then off to Barnes & Noble to get B'day presents for my reader.

Another day closer to cruise time!

Wa-hooooooo!

The UPS man just delivered my docs for this cruise!!! Guess I'll be ready to go soon - the docs for my cruise before this one arrived a few days ago and that means I can pack and leave a week from tomorrow for my drive down to WDW!

:bday: Anna--Please pass along our birthday wishes to Emily (just having a kid hit douuble digits this year freakd me out--I will really be in trouble when she's a teen a few years form now!).

Susan--Sorry I know nothing about the gym on the ship:rolleyes1 I do think I can confidently say they do not have starbucks (but there is specialty coffee available for purchase in Cove Cafe)

Alan/Erika--Glad to know your docs are on the way:thumbsup2 Must be good to have that stress taken care of.

This is correct. I'm am the king (queen? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) of multitasking....I'm watching the TV, sewing, cooking, playing wiht the cat, and designing my next major project in my head all at the same time. I am also aided in my quest to watch more TV than anyone alive by the magic of DVR! :)

(And also, Eller....while Jason and I feel we live a very full and wonderful life, all-be-it a bit overexposed to the TV, we have indeed been accused of being homebodies with no lives!:rolleyes1 :lmao: So I guess what constitutes "life" is a very subjective thing.....and I always say I'm pretty pleased I don't have to wander too far from my own doorstep to be happy with my life....I wish more people in this world could say the same!! :goodvibes )

:tigger:

OH, MY! Lori! Now I am tired just reading your post! I did cut out fabric for a new top to bring on the cruise......but I got my $5 off coupon in the mail from Bed Bath n Beyond, so I am going there to get a new ironing board cover....I have needed on e for a long time, and then I got glue from an iron-on project on it , so I am getting a new on! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey everybody,
I'm sorry to butt in here, as I'm not taking this one (boo hoo!) but I'd really appreciate somebody giving me the link to the live thread so I can live vicariously through you! We're sticking to our goal not to cruise this year and do all our traveling to see new grandchildren born and weddings and stuff like that. After the first PC repo 2 years ago, this will be a GREAT cruise! I'm so happy for all of you, and I can't wait to hear what you put on the live thread!
ttfn,
Renae

I don't think a thread has been set up yet?
I was probably planning to do a live trip report, depending on how busy things will be though. Is anyone else? Are we doing one together, or individually. If I don't hear that anyone else is planning to, I will just do it individually. :)

Hi Michelle--I hope to do a trip report after we return, but nothing on the ship. I will be taking a vacation from the computer, the cell phone, etc.

I really should too, but since we are leaving 3 older kids (in the care of family of course) we really wanted to keep contact with them. I was hoping that if we did the wireless plan, we would be able to do messenger, or at the very least email. Have to keep some sort of contact. Then I figured, while I have it, might as well jot down some notes on the DIS here and there. LOL

But who knows, I might get so busy relaxing, I may run out of time! I would love to have a break from phone and computer too.

Hi Everyone - Here is the latest lanyard list. As always, please let me know if I need to make a correction.

I also would like to talk about picking up the name badges and lanyards. I will be available in the terminal (at about 11:00am) prior to boarding for lanyard pickup. I will also have the lanyards at the dismeet at 3:00pm on deck 10, starboard (right) overlooking the Goofy pool. Please make an effort to stop by and pick up your name badges and lanyards at one of these two locations. If you can't make either of these - please contact me onboard to arrange for pickup. I don't plan on leaving the name badges and lanyards on your stateroom fish.

Hi all

This high school production of a Midsummer Nights Dream is going to be a disaster of epic proportions. First performance is tomorrow night (8pm Friday) and the director hasn't finished doing the rough blocking. I was watching last night because, the OCD person in charge of costumes (ME) has made sure they are all ready to go, and I cringed thru so much of it. The kids know most of the lines, but they don't know what they mean. And so many of them have marbles in their mouth (mumbling rather than projecting) and my favorite, turn your back to the audience and mumble!! :upsidedow Set is not finished (and in a big way)...

So I am thinking, bad production, fabulous costumes!

Hi all!
My DD24 called to tell me she was getting a private tour of the guest room in the castle today! Color Me GREEN!:rotfl: :rotfl: (as with envy)

She is a photographer in Orlando who's best friend "Emily" (you have seen her on the visa comercials where the song is "downtown" and the girl gets a makeover..that girl is emily.) And Emily's boyfriend is Lucas Grabeel from High School Musical. Anyway, Lucas and Emily are at WDW because he is filming a version of Battle of the Disney Stars thing and while he is filming, Emily and Courtney (DD) are getting a private tour. I told her she better have her camera and take tons of photos. She doesnt know if they will let them take pictures, but she will try.:wizard: :wizard:

Boy do I wish I was in Orlando today!

Very cool! It's always fun to get a little behind the scenes tour from Disney.

Laura, just remember the old saying, "Bad dress rehearsal, great opening night!" Dress rehearsals are usually a train wreck, but I AM suprised the director is not emphasizing the NO BACKS TO THE AUDIENCE thing.

My 12 year old and 10 year old are in a production opening the second weekend in June (one reason they are not going--commitments) and that director is having a problem with attendance. Even the 3 leads are not coming like they should! As a parent, I want my children at every practice just to ensure they don't feel insecure and lost when they perform.

Listening to WGN in Chicago...Orion Samuelson just informed all of Chicago that corn is bisexual. I thought that was funny...okay, it's a slow day.
