Good evening and greetings everyone....lots of posts in the last few hours.

:welcome: to our newly joined cruisers...clearly we're going to be getting new folks right up to the wire! How fun!

Sad, but not altogether surprising, news on my front is that my niece, Tavi, canNOT join us. It was a pipe dream but a fun one nonetheless. Oh well at least now I can tell Jason that we HAVE to go to DL Paris next year (b/c they will be in Germany for the next 4 years) to see them. :)

Our TA, Doris, is also selling Jason on the booking onboard issue...so he shoudl be an easier sell when I loose Anna and Kelly on him! :)

Thanks for posting hte Castaway Card...Jason and I will now have ours by the end of the week! muwahahahaha!!!! :lmao:

Chris/Scoobypop---I'll email you separately and explain hte deal about the Dining Plan for you if you want...but for other DVC members it's important to note that if you are DVC and want to use the Meal Plan, what I was informed was that you must be staying in a DVC resort (not using your points to stay in a hotel), you must get hte plan for the entire length of your stay...and that you are supposed to get it for every person whose name is listed on the reservation at the time of booking supposedly....although I've heard that last one has been worked around for DVC members in the past.

:tigger:
Erik

Even non DVC types must buy the dining plan for the entire length of stay and for every person on the reservation. So, don't feel you are being singled out!

Erik-I'm truly sorry your niece cannot join you. I know how much my kids and their aunt Karen value their time together and I am sure you are similar (I can just tell:rolleyes1 ). You will have Rio to follow you everywhere (poor soul that you are). At dinner tonight he asked us what we were most looking forward to on the cruise. Of course, we turned the question right back onto him. His answer? "Hanging out with the other 8-9s and spending time with Erik and doing lots of HSM stuff:rotfl: " OMG he hasn't even met you yet and he's more excited about you than Keyon (and Keyon is "cooler than Mickey."). We all decided that meeitng ALL of you cool DIS people is absolutely something to look forward to.

Parents--I was working on the kids treats today:cutie: Is it okay to assume that those of you with little bitty ones will be sure to go through and choose what is safe for them? I pretty much only have small (choking hazzard) type things as anything bigger times 60 would not fit in the luggage.

Rockin Bar D Question--We usually end up at a family event in the evenings, but being of a certain age we did make a point of going to the 80s nights at ROckin Bar D the last two cruises. We had so much fun, and we really enjoy the little show the dancers put on. Being a bit slow, it has only recently ocurred to me that the dancers probably do similar shows for the other theme nights (I'd go just for the show). Do they do this for 70s night? How about other theme nights (I think there was a 50s, but I can't recall)? I'm trying to figure out how many nights to warn the kids we will be ditching them for:laughing:

Hello everybody,

We will be joining you all on the transatlantic! It will be me (35), my daughter Lauren (4), Lani (2), Mom (58), Dad (63), MIL (68), and MIL's friend (?). Our first cruise was just recently (24 Feb-3 March Western) and we fell in love with cruising--especially via Disney.

I got a great military rate for a GTY CAT 12 room and now I'm agonizing about whether or not to upgrade now to a CAT 6 ($1200 more) or just take my chances at port for an upgrade. Any advice?

Looking forward to meeting up with everybody.

OK WHCH WALMART? I LOOKED AT THE LOCAL ONE! ON OSCEOLA PARKWAY! PLEASE TELL!

I found them in Oldsmar, Fl... near Tampa. I am sure most super wal-marts carry them. They WERE NOT with the detergent. They were on the end of an aisle.

Good luck!

Welcome, welcome everyone! :cool1:

Debbie, how many inches did you get over the weekend?
Saw the pictures in the paper, man you got pounded.
Will spring ever arrive in Cleveland?

AW!! Well you tell Rio that we're looking forward to meeting him, too...and once that darn tooth falls out and he gets his gift....tell him i'm WICKED jealous of his cool HSM toothbrush....I looked here in both Walmart AND Target and the closest to a Disney toothrbrush I could find was Hillary Duff (insert Missulalie's vomitting smiley here :rotfl: ). But that's OK I already have an electric toothbrush...and I already sing the songs from HSM all day so I hardly think I need it to be the soundtrack to my oral hygiene...but still...it was a fun idea!

And yes it does kind of stink that Tavi can't make it, but I understand her mother not wanting to be away from her for a whole month---and while the family is going through a big transition like moving overseas. The potential plan had been that they were thinking of letting Tavi take the boat with us from here to Spain then they'd hop down to get her because by the time the boat gets to Spain they'd be settling into their home in Germany.....but it would be too much money, too much time away from home, and they want to get her into her new school at the Air Base there so that she has time to finish more than amonth of her school year and try to make some friends so she'll have someone to play with during the summer there....which all makes sense to us....we mostly wanted her to go for OUR selfish reasons anyway so we could play with her teh whole time and be with her when she experienced all the joy of a DCL trip....but never fear...we'll get them on a cruise, yet...you just watch! It's too bad we didn't know far enough in advance to plan because I bet they could have come down for oneof the Med cruises.

Welcome to all the new members of this crew.:yay:

Peony. Like that name. My favorite flower. :flower:

Hey Ken, looks like the lanyard badge printer will be busy right up to embarkation. :rotfl:

I think we got about 20 inches here at my house. East of me about 30 inches. Saturday night east of the city got pounded with 24 inches overnight. It finally ended around 2 pm today. So it was around 117 hours of continuous snow in the area.

Someday, probably when we are on the cruise, spring will arrive. The baseball games scheduled for the next 3 days are being played in Milwaukee in the dome because they just can not clear all the snow from the field and get it in playable condition!

Here are a few from my neighborhood. Take notice of the drifts off of the porch roofs.

That's for sure - between the repo and the 1st med cruise, I've set a new record for number of name badges made.

Help Me... I feel like ive been a bad disboarder. Ive been working lots of extra hours lately and havent checked in here for several days. I only have 40 pages to read through. YIKES! Me and DW are on cruise countdown and cant wait.
BTW my grass skirt arrived the other day. One question,,, is a coconut shell top too much, or too little? Either way im bringin it.

Ken and Debbie--your work is never done! THANKS for doing the names and list:)

Debbie--I KNOW you are sick of winter (so are we and we don't have anywhere near that kind of snow), but the pictures are lovely. Thank you for posting them.

How about some first names - me, Mom, Dad and MIL just don't look very good on the name badges. :rotfl2:

milestogo - not sure when we are going to DL.We are still in the planning stages but will let you know. Are you doing the PC cruise? We are booked on the wb. I am trying to decide whether to book a dummy date this cruise or PC cruise for 2010 and the new ship.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with inventory control and get on the waitlist for the new ship?

I want to do this too! Maybe they'll offer something for it on the ship.

Thanks! I think I will bring myliquid stuff, since I already have it packaged up. Also I will be doing some "sink laundry". Mostly just the guy's socks, underwear and tshirts in the regulary laundry, I hope. We are doinga B2B but the 2nd half isn't on Disney (don't tell anybody):laundy:

Apryl, water temps at CC will be in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s.

Would love to dive in the Canary Isl, but don’t want to haul the gear and I really don’t like renting. Not that the gear is dirty or unsanitary, I just know mine is well maintained.

Sorry I don’t do laundry. Or I should say Lynn doesn’t like the way I do laundry.

Welcome Aboard to all our new crew.

KEWL looks like we will see a few Grass Skirts….

OMG I need an Aleve and a DOD...4 hours of making fairy costumes for the school play!! Where is Erik when I need him??? I don't know if I want his sewing skills or massage skills more!?!?!?! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And this is a high school play, and it is A Midsummer Nights Dream...and apparently I am the only parent in about 5 years who has volunteered to help. I love it, but DANG...I wish it paid more...:rotfl: :rotfl: Oh well, I just think of the great memories for me, and in depth therapy my daughter will need in the future!! I mean, really, what more could a mom want???:rolleyes1

I also like to bring the dryer sheets and pack them in with the clothes when I put them in the drawers and then after we do laundry and pack up to leave I toss them in because they keep the clothes smelling fresh. Sometims they can smell a little musty after being in the drawers. Also, I found travel size of Downey Wrinkle Releaser at Target in CA.
