It's a "Club" for DCL repeat cruisers. All you have to do to qualify is sail once with Disney. Then you are a Castaway Club member.

Hello,

I'm travelling with two kids (son, age 10 and daughter, 4) on the east repo cruise May 12. I was just wondering where the kids group is located that was mentioned (organized by a Cindy). I do remember seeing a teen chat thing but I was wondering if there is a discussion thread for parents (travelling with kids) to help kids have a great start to the cruise/meeting peers.

My son had a teacher who was a kids counselor on a cruise ship and spoke fondly of the experience (and of seeing the Disney cruise ship go by) so my son is willing to check out the Ocean Lab.

A quick question about kids "Stuff" - what is the age range we are working with?

3-12?

I believe the youngest is 1 year old and the oldest is 14.

well my TA called DCL armed with the details about what the gift was...and they denied to her that any such magnets exist or were being sent out.

Oh that DCL!!! They're sure lucky they throw a super fun cruise or I'd start to get a little irritated about how poorly they communicate and coordinate their information and activities internally!!

"Yes I konw you can't book your excursions online...nobody can. Nobody on the cruise has been able to do so......oh, you have friends who have? Let me put you on hold...."

"No, you're the ONLY person who has had all their bookings erased by accessing the discounted rates...everyone else has kept their reservations....oh, you have friends who have the same situation? Let me put you on hold...."

"No, we're not sending any gifts out...there are no magnets for this cruise....oh, you have friends who have gotten them already? Let me put you on hold...."

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I feel better already, at least when I am on alot of Advil!
I am very thankful that this happened now instead of on the cruise, and before my crown was put on. I look at it as a blessing...a painful blessing. LOL

I am sooo tempted by the free dining offer. I went last year and it was WONDERFUL! I can't help but want to find a way to go again this year, but I understand about picking the battles. Going on this cruise and then again on the EB Panama with the whole family will cost a pretty penny. Can't do them all I guess.....

Ouch to both the root canal and the hard drive crash! Been through both and not sure which is worse - one hurts until you get it fixed and the other hurts once you realise you can't get it fixed! I feel for both of you!

Erik - I ended up taking all my pics to Wal Marts photo shop and they had everything on a disc by the next day. It saved me a lot of time and I had a permanent backup.

Scott - have you managed to get a copy of the "float plan" for the crossing or are you just drawing a line on a map? Would also be curious to see it!

Greg, Just drawing a point to point line.... I had ordered a British Admrality map to plot the croassing on later. I used my Nat Geo maps to find one to print out to take on the cruise. It is 24 pieces of 8x10 taped together.

I guess I could loan it to the Captaion should he need it....

Busy day and a busy week ahead.

Just because I'm so obsessive about such things that I think jason and I are going to make our OWN cards with our names and numbers on them...so if I have a scan of yours I can just photoshop out your name and number and put in ours and VOILA!! We'll have make-shift cards of our own! (or if you'd rather email me the image or PM me you can! )

speaking of images actually....did anyone ever repost the link to the picture of our itinerary? Or woudl someone who has gotten the mysterious magnet(s) be willing to scan it and post it here? I would like to utilize an image of our trip map as part of our door decorations!

Changing the subject off of the cruise - but for those of you that visit DL often, which hotel would you recommend with a 6 year old? Pools are important as well as ease to the parks. I have stayed at the DL hotel but not at the others. We will be staying for 3 or 4 nights. If memory serves me right that should be enough time to do the parks.

Oh, Erik! Our new rolling garment bag is servicable! But so much better than our old one, which was lost in the New Orleans flood after Hurricane Katrina!

No you don't need the card for anything.

We don't have a card, per se,. but we DO have CASTAWAY frequent cruisers numbers, so we always get a free gift( we have so many Castaway Cay swim bags!)

Just passing through. We are not on the repo (we are on the first sailing int he med)but may still book if the Florida residents rates come out and look appealing.

Someone asked about laundry tablets. Last night at Super Wal-mart I saw "Tide sink packs" for 3/.97$. I have used them before and hadn't seen them in a while. just an FYI!

The Target near me also carries super concentrated liquid All laundry detergent in 2 ounce bottle does two loads. It was in Target's travel size section. I have also found laundry tablets at Walmart on the very bottom shelf in the laundry detergent section.
