Today is a lovely day in the Valley of the Sun.

DH, however, left this morning for a short trip to Denver for the opening game of the Colorado Rapids MLS season. It was about 20 degrees when he landed. Then he went straight to the tailgating, and then the game. He called me about an hour ago, after the game finished, they were finally heading indoors, and it hadn't been above 30 degrees.

Also, I know all of you are complaining about snow, and HopeMax would know this, but we are going in the pool today. The pool is 89 and the weather is close to it too. Anyone up for a BBQ? Come visit.

Yeah, yeah, yeah :rolleyes1 This is what I see outside my window right now (well actually at this minute it looks worse than this picture taken 15 minutes ago)

That looks jsut about right. Like the tree with the christmas lights very appropriate. Tonight at dinner my mother toasted and said Merry Christmas since this is more snow then we had all winter.

Actually... those are easter eggs hanging from the tree!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Just looked at the forecast... possibly another 12 inches where squalls persist. And with Lake Effect it is a roll of the dice.

So I guess I will just have to work on door magnets and look at clothes for the cruise:lmao:

Transport to the Port: I am planning on leaving my car (I'm in Florida) at the airport and using Disney transportation to the Port. Anyone else doing that? Anyone know the details? And, no I won't obsess over not knowing - they make pills for that now! :goodvibes

We live n Orlando, and we plan to have a friend take us to the port. Then I hope our son can p;ick us up at the airport!

In regards to the door magnets, I heard that if you personalize it (your last name, or room number) they are less likely to be stolen. Who wants a door magnets that says "The Smiths" when your last name is Jones.

Hello!

Family of four here... getting ready for the May 12 2007 repo-east cruise! Very new to online discussion forums and want to learn how to sign up for onboard get-togethers and stuff that folks are organizing.

ie:
- Wendy's Tea
- Bracelet's / lanyards (what are these used for?)
- Etc.

Thx!

Good evening all. It looks like a heck of a lot of us are getting a white Eater to make up for the lack of a white Christmas. Somehow it is not really the same:rolleyes1

This has nothing to do with the cruise, but please allow me to indulge in a moment of proud mom bragging. None of the grandparents are answering their phones and I will burst if I don't get to share soon. Last week we took Marika down to a computer testing center to take a test to see if she qualifies for the John Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. Well, we didn't expect to see the results for 3 weeks (were just looking for the DCL treat which still isn't here--but this is way better), but they were in the mailbox today and she qualified!!!!  This is a really big honor (she had to take the 8th grade SCAT test even though she is only in 5th grade--and should be in 4th--and had to score above the 80th percentile as comapred to 8th graders). Now she'll get to take some really awesome online courses, and it is a great boost to the self esteem of a girl who is so often the odd one out. I am one proud mama tonight:love:

Okay, now back to your regularly scheduled cruise programming!

WELOME Kaptain Jack!!!

After you have made 5 posts you can send a private message (PM). SO, post away for a few minutes and then you can send Debbie your inforamtion for the list, etc.

Tea with Wendy--I am not sure if that is still happening since Kathy gave up her suite. Does anyone else know?

Bracelettes are just something cute and fun for the group, as a gift from a few of us. I think Elizabeth already oredered them so it may be too late to get them for your group, but I am not sure. PM txaggie94gigem to find out.

Lanyards are nifty little neckalce type thingies to carry your Key to the World card in. Again, a cool gift being provided by some of the awesome people on this thread. I know they were running low as well, so I do not know if you can get in on this still or not either (sorry). But, there may be some left. PM
kpros to find out.

Please take a few minutes to intorduce us to you and your family:)

Welcome aboard! You may want to go back and look at the first post on page 143 of this thread. It has lots of info. I need to know the first names on everyone in your group for the lanyards and name badges.

:welcome:

Check out page 143 and the webpage in Debbie's signature (EpcotKilterFan) for all sorts of great info. I must also point out the link at page 143 for Secret Mickey, since I'm organizing that! If you are interested (no problem if not!) just PM me when you can (you will be able to do this after posting 5 messages).

Just adding my two cents but usually when you have a passport for your children you don't need additional documentation because when you got the passport you had to have your husband submit something saying that youo can take the children out of the country. We did in Arizona so that should be all the documentation you need because if you have the passport that is the document.:goodvibes

You would think that. But I have also needed a letter from him stating I could take her out of the country along with a passport. My ex-husband/daughters dad agreed to her getting a passport and went with us. 4 years later we have not laid eyes on him except for 2 hours at Christmas. Fortunately I have the worlds best mother in law (I did NOT divorce them, just him!!) and she pounded him into giving me a notarized letter allowing me to take my daughter anywhere in the world and get her passport renewed. She knows he's a jerk and they are good people. Probably why we get along with each other and he doesn't!!! I also allow her to travel all over the country with them and give them notarized letters for it. It is a sad state of affairs but better than having your kid disappear off the face of the earth. Next year my kidlet is 16 and doesn't need her dads permission and she can get a 10 year passport!!! Thank heavens!!!

Re roserae's desire for a change of pace haircut ... I guess it all depends on how gutsy you are, as you don't have the safeguards that you would have on land, like going to someone recommended by a friend or whatnot. My other bias is that all my interactions with spa people onboard have been attended by a hard sell. I didn't know about writing something on my intake form saying not to do this until recently, but I have been relatively forceful in saying no (and I am a lawyer and hence not known for my shy wallflower-like tendencies in expressing myself). And I *still* got the hard sell. It kind of turned me off but YMMV.

Sorry if this has been posted in the last 15 pages...I'm a whole 24 hours behind....geez! Anyway, I'm unhappy with my current hairdresser. I've gone to him for 15 years and love him as a person, but not so much cutting my hair anymore. But I hate to hurt him. Anyway, I was thinking of getting my hair cut on the ship as an excuse to go to someone different and maybe try a different style and then maybe my current stylist can keep it up.

One of my new friends from this list (Cupcake) advised against this being concerned about the stylist on the ship not having any regular clientele, so not really having to worry about making anyone happy on a regular basis. But I'm getting desperate! My hair is a mess and I think it might be fun to go to someone different and the cruise is a great opportunity. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any bad haircuts, or great haircuts? What do you guys think?

I really want someone to look at my face and hair and say..."I know what would be perfect for you!" and then just do it. Am I asking too much?

Yes, I think you are asking for too much. Ask some of the people you work with who's hair you like who they use. Get some references. If it was just an updo for formal nite I would say go fot it. But a new cut/color/style...GIRL what are you thinking?!?!!?! I went bald with chemo and trust me, it takes a long time to grow out a bad do!!! :lmao: And don't just ask the ladies, if one of the guys always looks sharp, ask him. I got the best person for doing my eyebrow waxes from one of the guys I work with!!!

Do you really want to spend 3 months trying to grow out and fix the worlds most expensive hair cut and color????

OMG you are a lawyer and I am an anal retentive blood sucking bean counter!!! The guys at work call me the budget nazi!!! I think we are the only two people who can say no and mean it in the spa area!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We never buy anything either. The experience itself is enough for us.
