May 11, 2013 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise on Disney Fantasy - Itinerary B

59 days, folks!:cool1:

How many are mostly already packed? Anyone? I ask because (as my family and close friends well know) I am pretty much ALWAYS packed for a cruise. :rotfl2: You know on Criminal Minds how they refer to a "go bag" ready bag to just grab and go anywhere? My equivalent is my cruise bag. Just need my cruise docs and for the date to arrive! :cheer2:

I am not that far ahead yet... although I have brought the suticases out and put together the initial packing and "need to buy" list...

...and shopping this weekend for the "need to buy" items!

This is great!! 2 years ago I had a tub that i would put cruise stuff in and just kept adding to it until it was about two weeks out. We were surprising my kids, so I had to be pretty sneaky. However, this time I am so far behind haven't even started gathering stuff...did make a note this weekend that we really needed to do this since we haven't even determined what needs purchased and I need to budget for that. Maybe I will get on that this weekend, especially since it seems I am going to be traveling for work at least 6-8 days in April.

Hi all. We too are sailing onboard the fantasy, may 11th. It is my family's first disney cruise and my kids first cruise. We are having our wedding ceremony aboard the ship and having a familymoon. we are surprising our 2 girls (almost 2 and 5 years old) with the trip.

We are also interested in participating with the fish extenders. Started buying summer clothes and crossing essentials this past week.

I feel like there is so much left to do. We would love to participate in the fe but after much consideration we have to back out of participating. We have bunch of stuff to do for our wedding guests and for the cruise...it all might be too much. But cannot wait to meet everyone.

I know it is a PRIVATE wedding and that they are held on sea days, but do you know yet when and where the ceremony will be? Just wondered if it is arranged (down to the time) in advance or if you won't find out until after you board.

Congratulations! :groom: :bride:

Well my boyfriend and I are so excited this is our first cruise ever! Thinking of trying out Dolphin Cove in Grand Cayman for our first stop. They have a Disney Cruise special on their website, it's Stingray city and dolphins all in one day . They also let kids under 8 swim free, we don't have kids but maybe I can pull off 8, haha. My boyfriend and I have visited Cayman before and the Stingrays where AMAZING! We went there for a scuba trip and did the deep site but now we're going to the shallow site, so I'm kind of curious what the difference will be. We're excited to go back! plus swim with the dolphins check off my bucket list. Then we're so Salsa n Salsa in Cozeumel last time I was in Mexico I was like 8 so it will be nice to go and visit again. It's gonna be hard to get my boyfriend to dance but I hear they serve a lot of Alchol so that should help lossen him up, HAHA! Not really sure yet though what we're going to do in Costa, I wonder if they have diving there...but I also hear people saying you have to go see the ruins. Decisions Decisions...I can't wait though so excited!!!!

:welcome::welcome:

I hope you will enjoy your first cruise as much as I did. I cruised for the first time on Disney almost 13 years ago on my honeymoon. Haven't cruised anyone else, because frankly at this point with two kids it makes the most sense and I LOVE all things Disney.

Check out the first post for info about our Facebook page.

:welcome: wolfcallbritt! I'm sure you will love the Disney Fantasy! :goodvibes

Dolphin Cove gets great reviews in general but has to be booked outside of DCL because they are not "Disney approved" (last I heard anyway). Most likely it is because they allow people to wear sunscreen when interacting with the dolphins and they allow VERY young children (infants/toddlers?). Both can be detrimental to the dolphins health. Young children have not built up immunity and and can be "invisible carriers" of infections to which dolphins are highly susceptible. I don't mean to preach - just explaining probable reasons Dolphin Cove isn't offered as a DCL port adventure.

Lucky you! I wish my hubby had been willing to do Salsa n Salsa with me, but he is doing the certified Scuba (70'-80') in Cozumel, so I didn't book anything for myself. In Grand Cayman he is doing the two-tank dive.

As for Costa Maya: They do offer a basic ("Discover Scuba") and a two-tank dive also, but my hubby is doing the Catamaran & Snorkel there. Not a lot of time in that port! ;)

This will be my 2nd Disney Cruise. My first was in Oct of 2011 on the Magic. The kids joined us on that cruise and we had the time of our lives. On this cruise there will be only adults. 6 in our group. Would love to meet some others that will be traveling without children. The youngest in our group is 24 and I believe I am the oldest at 57. Dont let the age fool you, we are all young at heart when it comes to Disney. We are all very excited and counting down the days.:yay:

:welcome: mynewcruise13!

I think there are several of us "adults without children" on this one - either couples or adult (18 and over) kids traveling with parent(s). I tried to get a post going on our Facebook group to find out just how many, but it got interspersed with posts of those with younger children who would still participate in adult activities onboard.

It would be interesting to know exactly how many adults with "no one one traveling with them who is under 18" are sailing with us. :cool1:

Mynewcruise, I'm 52 & my husband is 56 & we're traveling without our children! ;)

Taswira, maybe if you do a poll on FB of people traveling with children or adults only?
