But I want to go NOW!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

And remember, with all the talk about the other group, no matter what they say, we will get to go first. They'll still have to wait four months and listen to us talk about the great time we had.

LOL, good point!

Holly- welcome to the thread!

Someone mentioned the specialty cruises never going down in price.. not true. I followed the prices for the 10 and 11 night Southern Carribbean this fall, and they dropped a couple of times. Particularly, the lower category cabins (11/12) would periodically come down in price.

DH called me this morning and said that there's a new deal being offered to cast members for the eastbound Mediteranean cruise this May-- 50% off fares, with a notation that people who previously booked the cruise may still be eligible for a price adjustment. If I wasn't set on booking this cruise next week, I'd be scrounging for reasonable airfare from London to JFK right now!!!

I'm glad we don't have too many more people on this thread, or I'd have NO way of keeping up with you guys. Had to take my grandma to the hospital for surgery this morning, and I'm waiting for her to get out of the recovery room.. otherwise I'd wind up even further behind on here.

Hi Aunt Braty, thanks for adding us to roll call...I'm getting a late start today & haven't finished catching up with the rest of your posts yet, but wanted to stop in and say hi and...

I'm another ODC planner (but this is vacation right???)
DH asked last night "we won't take as much luggage this time will we?" (we cruised Xmas 2005 on the magic...17 suitcases...or was that pairs of shoes???):rotfl: I of course said "yes dear, I mean no dear" then fell fast asleep counting the pairs of shoes we *really* need to bring and trying to decide, should I pack the bags by person or by function; formal, matching disney outfits, play clothes, swimsuits...ahhhhh I drifted right off..... how many more months of obbessing do we get to enjoy?

Love the ideas shown on the last few pages for logos. Totally art impaired here, but LOVE to copy and paste on my siggie when all is decided.

Forgot to mention, our kids speak Spanish (DH & I don't) so we are also hoping to find a good amount of Spanish speakers for them to continue their study with, as we will have to bring a BIG package of indpendent work for them to take the time out of school.

Hope to get caught up on all of your posts in the next few days and then I'll chatter like crazy with you all.

Nan

HA! I'm reining my self in, till I'm 'officially' on this ship....then watch the posting madness begin!!!

Awesome work, could she do a version that would be shrunk down for signature and have text sized to suit that.

Ya know, Angie has plans to wrap the ship with it, lol. And we might want to put it on a button maybe or something in that size.

Pj

I'm sure she can. She's in class right now but i sent her an email.

Be honest, John1. You get along with Angie because she is married to a really nice man who loves Disney and gadgets as much as you do! ;)

Yeah, that too . . .

Hi everybody! I'm hoping to join you all if work lets me have that much time off. That's a BIG if because they don't usually allow anybody to take 2 weeks in a row off. But I'm still going to try based on our employee manual which says that only applies to the full-time people. Since I only work 30 hours/week, I should be able to slip through the cracks. I put in my request today for the time off, so please send tons of pixie dust that our office manager doesn't laugh me out the door in the morning! I'll be absolutely devastated if they deny me being able to go on this awesome cruise!

Just in case they let me go, here's my info:

Disboards Handle: HollyTyler
Name: Holly (36)
Cat Cabin/Deck: Anything I can get! Heck, I'd even sleep in a lifeboat if I could!
Early/late dining? Early
Located in Lansing, MI

I usually travel with DS4, but will most likely be traveling solo this time. I halfway convinced a friend to go, but that depends on what the price ends up being. Might book for 2 anyway, as a TBA (like somebody suggested in an earlier post) just in case I find somebody to join me.

More info about me: single mom, part-time legal secretary, part-time law student. I think that's about it! :thumbsup2

Hi Holly,

DS (now 19) did debate camp in East Lansing at MSU several years ago. Beautiful area and beautiful campus.

DD sent me one of her creations, she's till tweaking it. She wants to put a silhouette of Mickey on the ship.

Wow . . . that's cool too. Some really creative people here!

John1

Of course, if I worked full-time, I could afford MORE cruises!!!! :thumbsup2 But then I'd probablyflunk out of law school. One B last term, still waiting for my other grade. :cheer2:

Another FYI Holly . . . I am an attorney . . . went to Law school part time while working FT many years ago. Do not privately practice - I am in charge of HR and Labor Relations for the company I work for.

Hugs and prayers for your grandma. Grandmas are the best!!

I've said it before. I'll say it again. We are a small and intimate, well behaved group :rotfl2:

Prayers for your Grandma. :goodvibes  You're a good and thoughful granddaughter. Welcome to the group.

Cool! All advice is welcome! But I doubt I could handle FT work with classes AND living alone with my DS4. :scared1:

There was an attorney on my last cruise that I met through on the DIS boards and he had tons of helpful tips for me because he also taught law school for a while.

I'm glad to see that lawyers can be Disney fans too! :thumbsup2

Started law school single and working FT, by the time I graduated, was married with an 8 mo pregnant DW! DS was 8 months old and had the flu when I had to leave and take the bar exam . . .

All but the first year of Law school, I worked FT. Had to to pay for school, and then support my family. I have actually been working for the same company since HS - started at age 16, and worked my way up. I have been here 30 years this year.

My best advice . . . if you can make it through the first year, it gets easier from there. They seem to try and weed out the not so serious students in year 1. We lost 1/3 of our entering class by the end of year 1.

It sure is a beautiful campus! I just love all the brick buildings.

To give me something new to obsess about, has anyone who did this Repo cruise in 2005 have any advice on shore excursions in the additional ports?

I was thinking that to pass the time until my TA calls me one way or the other, I need something to research.

DH and I may also be going to China for Summer Olympics but since all travel arrangments will be handled by University group so not too much to research yet.

Lots of people have told me that---about it being easier after the first year. I'm doing OK. I haven't earned an A in any of my classes yet, but I'm hanging in there. I think I've technically made it through most of what would be considered first year classes if I had gone full time. I've completed Torts 1, Civ Pro 1, Property 1, Property 2, Crim Law, Contracts 1, Contracts 2, Professional Responsibility, Legal Research & Writing. I was scheduled for Crim Pro and Con Law 1 this term before I decided to take a break.

Birkner -- we were on the 2005 repo cruise. What are your questions? :cool1:

I was wondering what kind of shore exursions they had on the cruise, any special things to look forward to doing, or anything I can make plans for my DH and I to do.
